Simple things are worth blogging about

Usually every household has a home remedy or family secret they use to help someone in their family during a time of need. For instance, if a person gets stung by a bee at your house, what do you do for it? I have heard from many different people that applying tobacco juice to the stung area is good. I guess this works great for someone that has a dad, uncle, or grampa living with them and he chews tobacco. Most families may not have a pouch of tobacco in the Robern Medicine cabinet and may need to use alternative methods to treat the sting. There are products you can buy at the grocery story or drug store for treating a bee sting. For the most part, a bee sting hurts and time is the best cure for most people.
Do you have any homemade remedies you would like to share? I would love to hear how your family treats a bee sting or any homemade remedies for a severe cold? Ever heard of a strong liquor with peppermint and honey to treat the flu? In the old days they even used moonshine as the strong alcohol ingredient and would mix it with honey and other ingredients for a homemade cold and flu remedy. I think some remedies offer an actual medical benefit; while others are found to have no real healing powers. Sometimes just tricking the brain into believing these products work is enough to help a sick person or one who is having pain and this does make these home remedies work in my opinion.
