There are 3 big food giants in the hamburger industry. We have McDonalds, Burger King, and Wendy’s restaurants that are the kings of hamburgers. Everybody else on the hamburger list is just looking up at these 3 giants in the world of hamburgers. Now all 3 of these popular fast food chains offer a double cheeseburger for a super low price of only a buck or one dollar. Which $1 double cheeseburger do you prefer the most?

The Wendys double cheeseburger or double stack is made on a plain bun with ketchup, mustard, pickles, onions, and one piece of cheese. They also use square hamburger patties to make their fried hamburgers; which Wendys claims is never frozen and always fresh. This is a good value and I do like the Wendys double cheeseburger. It is also worth noting that Wendys makes a junior bacon burger for only one dollar and this is also a good value. There are several listings on Wendy’s Dollar Menu and it’s a good place to eat for those that don’t have a lot of money to spend on lunch or dinner. Eating at Wendys for lunch can be cheaper and better; than if you took the time to buy and prepare your own lunches from the grocery store.

The Burger King double cheeseburger is completely opposite from the way Wendys prepares it’s double cheeseburger. They use round meat patties instead of square, sesame seed buns as opposed to the plain bun, and they grill their hamburger patties instead of frying them. The BK Double includes ketchup, mustard, pickle, and two pieces of cheese. This is an excellent tasting burger and if you like the grill taste; then you may like the double cheeseburger from Burger King more than Wendys or McDonalds. This is where consumers can get more food for their money, since this double cheeseburger offers more in bun size, but doesn’t include onions.

The McDonalds double cheeseburger is more popular and gets sold more daily; since McDonalds has more locations than Wendys or Burger King does. This double cheeseburger that McDonalds offers for one dollar has ketchup, mustard, onions, pickles, and two pieces of cheese. It’s made on a plain bun and has round hamburger patties that are fried. McDonalds does offer the smallest one dollar double cheeseburger; when compared to Burger King or Wendys. There is a unique taste to McDonalds hamburgers and it’s unique in a good way. I think this double cheeseburger is great too and it just seems like the cheese tastes better from McDonalds than other fast food hamburger chains. McDonalds has their own menu too that includes several items for $1. I think McDonalds was the first fast food restaurant to create the dollar menu, but I believe Wendys perfected the dollar menu.

So we have 1 dollar to spend and we are looking for the most food possible for that dollar. Where do we go? We certainly would want to go to McDonalds, Burger King, or Wendys to spend our last dollar. In most cases we would want to order the double cheeseburger for a nutritional meal and one that would fill us up more than other alternatives for spending that dollar. You want to avoid the soft drinks and french fries, because these items will cost you more money than the double cheeseburger will. French fries have been linked to type 2 diabetes for those that eat a lot of fried potatoes or the way most fast food chains prepare their fries. If you have extra money for a side item, try to get something other than the fries. The bake potato at Wendys would seem like a smart choice, but we want to avoid the potatoes linked to diabetes, so onion rings or something like that is a better choice for those concerned with diabetes.

I will say we are all lucky to have places like these hamburger giants to provide us with a lot of good nutritional food (to a degree nutritional) for only 1 dollar. If you have a Wendys, Burger King, and McDonalds in your area and they provide these $1 double cheeseburgers, you may want to start eating at these places more. Eating these double cheeseburgers is a good way to save money and you would spend just as much if not more money if you tried to prepare these items at home yourself.

Now the question is; which fast food chain offers the best tasting $1 double cheeseburger? If one of these fast food chains lowered their price by a dime and sold their double cheeseburger for 90 cents, would you be willing to sacrifice taste for that extra 10 cents in savings? If you want the freshest tasting burger, you probably want the Wendys double cheeseburger; since their meat is never frozen. The Burger King double cheeseburger is the one you want for that burger that tastes hot off the grill. Then you have McDonalds that produces the standard in hamburgers and has the taste that we compare all other hamburgers to. All 3 are pretty good and all 3 cost a dollar; but which one do you want if you could only pick one?
