Simple things are worth blogging about

Every webmaster online today wants to make their website as search engine friendly as possible. At least they should be in order to start receiving traffic from the search engines. Search engine traffic is the best traffic you can have. Not all traffic is good traffic and the traffic that makes their way to your website that doesn’t come from a target audience would be considered bad traffic. It’s ok to have some bad traffic coming to your website, but for the best results you want targeted traffic. You can find that targeted traffic in the search engines and the best way to attract the good traffic is by using longer anchor text.
When you create a link on your website from words or is a worded text link, it needs to be longer than just one or two words. If you only use 1 or 2 keywords in your anchor text links; then chances are you will have a lot of competition in the search engines for those words. Creating a longer anchor text allows your keywords to be more descriptive and this can result in much higher placements in the search engines. I will use ”teddy bears” as an example of creating your own longer anchor text.
I’m sure the word “teddy” and “bears” are both very common in the search engines and online. Putting the two words together “teddy bears” you’re eliminating a lot of search terms that wouldn’t relate to your website anyways and you start to target a better audience. I’m sure “teddy bears” is a pretty common search term too, so we need to go a bit further and make these two words even longer. Using anchor texts like “cute teddy bears”, “brown teddy bears”, “children’s teddy bears”, or “stuffed teddy bears” we are creating a more distinct search and the internet users that search for a specific teddy bear are much more likely to come across your website now. This is a good example of using longer anchor texts. Now if your website has nothing to do with teddy bears, you don’t want to create any anchor text like I have used in this example. Make sure you do use keywords that relate to your website first. Once you know what those keywords are, try to build a longer anchor text by adding a color or descriptive word to it. Try to imagine what someone would type in a search engine that would be looking for your website and use search terms like that as anchor text.
Once you have several long anchor text created, you don’t need to put these as links on your own website. You need other websites or blogs to add your longer anchor text on, so you will be pointing links toward your site. The more links you have coming in to your website, the better numbers your website will have; which will result in much better rankings in the search engines. It’s not hard getting indexed in the search engines, but it can be tough to get your website listed on that first page. Being listed on the first page is what SEO (search engine optimization) is all about. Go start being creative and come up with longer anchor text to use and remember to find other websites, blogs, or even message forums to create these longer links on.
