The technology products won again this holiday season. It’s the cell phones and ipods that probably led the way this holiday season in 2009. Now shoppers will be using their gift cards they got as gifts for Christmas to go buy more tech products. You know the kids and their video games, I’m sure these items were on lots of lists this year. The gaming systems and video games for them, were another hot sector this year for retailers. Which sector could ever beat technology or will be the ones to dethrone the kings of tech? Is it possible for a toy to be considered just a toy and win enough kid’s hearts to be number 1? I don’t think the teddy bear will be up for the task, but perhaps a toy maker can develop a toy that would be the number 1 thing for Christmas. They have to do this without using technology or the tech industry wins again. The only problem with this is that adults like the tech gadgets as much as the kids do. I think the auto industry could win on Christmas if they sold a brand new car for $500. If this ever happens, then you know technology is involved or our economy has really gotten bad.

See if you can design a product in your mind that wouldn’t use technology and could be a hot seller during the holiday season. Let me know what your item would be and maybe we can get enough good ideas to let those cool tech gadgets have a year off. I haven’t heard which gift was the top seller for Christmas, but you would have to guess an iPod, cell phone, or video game system was the winner. I don’t think there was any hot sellers in the music industry, in terms of artists, but you can bet the ways we listen to music was sold by the bunches over the holidays. I guess technology is back and look for the stock market to react to these changes in 2010.
