There are lots of weight loss problems that currently exist, but it seems there isn’t enough weight loss solutions. If we had more solutions, we wouldn’t be in the shape we are now, with so many people over weight. Especially the American population, where our citizens are probably the most over weight people on the Globe. As of right now, do you have any weight loss methods or solutions you could offer to someone who was looking to take off a few pounds?

Everyone who chose to lose more weight as their New Year Resolution in 2011, needs to come together as a group online and offer diet support to each other. If you can get a starting point and create it in a group environment; then we could begin some different organizational methods. I think it sounds crazy to even mention schools and police in the same sentence, but we can’t stick our heads  in the sand any longer. Students do need the police for certain situations. When students turn to violence to settle problems and old scores, the police forces around the country become a necessary tool. Nothing can be taken too far; when it comes to the safety and well-being of our students in public and private schools. You want your children to obtain the best education possible; while maintaining a safe environment around them. You are not alone with these thoughts and beliefs, because every parent out there, shares these same feelings or at least to some extent they do.

While the state of Texas has always been a leader for controversy in our union of states in this great country, they certainly woke up a few educators with their latest headlines. It is true, the police departments in Texas are getting involved in the educational system and your child, might just have to attend court, if their behavior is deemed bad enough at school. A simple outburst in the classroom today, isn’t necessarily a trip to the Principal’s office. If your child uses profanity or causes too much of an uproar, the police can issue tickets and charge these students with a misdemeanor. Even a student that is 6 years old, can act up enough, where the law officers have no choice, but to issue them a real citation from a real Texas police officer.

In Texas, the school board and the law officers are dead serious about profanity in school systems, the use of weapons, violence, abusive behaviors, and anything a child could do at school, which could cause or inflict real harm or damage, is not going to be tolerated any longer. Students will be issued tickets at school and these will carry a lot more weight, once these students gather with their parents and go before a real Texas Judge. We may even seen the Texas attorneys get in on the action, as they may be forced to defend the rights of a unruly 6 year old boy or girl.

I look forward to hearing more from the Texas School Board and seeing if police officers can really team up with educators on a daily basis and help students at the end of the day.. As much as the class clown likes to draw all of the attention their way, it looks like police and these tickets and real public citations is also going to draw-in some attention. I’m not sure I agree with the distraction aspects of everything. I believe the police will be causing more attention, than any one student could ever cause in their classroom.

As a parent, do you agree with these new tougher enforcements for students in Texas, who commit serious school yard offenses? Do you think the Texas Police is going too far and over-stepping their boundaries, by inserting police tactics and regulations on children as young as 6 years old? Can a fair line be drawn in the school sands; where teachers are on one side and the Texas Police on the other? If your child comes home with a ticket from the Police, do you seek an attorney or legal help for your child?

Lots of questions and debates will be coming in the days, weeks, and months to come, you can sure bet on that. I think this will get more public attention than Texas will want to get. At least the blogger in me, sitting a few states away from Texas, thought enough of this story to write up a lengthy blog post and even included a few generic pictures,  to help illustrate some of my points and questions on the subject. Texas will get their dose of attention out of this new public school story. Texas has a long history of being one of our most controversial states, but they may have gone just a bit too far this time.  Let’s see where the Federal Judges in Texas stand on this issue and if they will take it upon their self to take action, before any students start collecting permanent marks on their permanent records.

The smartphones called the htc desire 2.2 are a great example of why I think we are now just getting to the “starting” line and have a long ways to go, before we even begin to get a glimpse of the “finish” line. A lot of quality and first class technology is going into this specific model of a android smartphone. The Qualcomm Snapdragon processor is featured on the HTC Desire Smartphone and it will be supplying 1 GHz of processing power. Users will have the Internet at their fingertips; while using this state-of-the-art android phone and will have the popular Bluetooth capabilities. By no means is the Bluetooth technology standard, but with the demand for this feature alone; many retailers, dealers, and manufactures are looking at Bluetooth as a standard feature for the tech products of today. The memory issues will be fine with this smart phone, since it will contain the MicroSD  memory card; which consumers will need to buy on their own. The HTC Desire Z comes with the Flash, Adobe, Microsoft Office docs, and other multimedia standards, you would get with most new cell phones today.

Speed is what will win the buyer over at the end of the day and the HTC Desire could very well be the fastest smartphone to date. It has the amazing ability to download at speeds up to 14.4 Mbps. These lightning download speeds and the variety of features this little guy brings to the ear, your eyes, and at your fingertips each day. Is going to make it the perfect business tool for those who are conducting business on the fly. The 2.2 of HTC Desire is the business phone and business partner and business helper you been looking for recently. The new 2011 year is going to be a whole lot better for you, since you now have a business phone, partner, and helper all assisting you on the run, as you speed through your day. Yes, smartphones are really smart and now we are learning they are really fast too!

Most people know about gold’s recent popularity in the last 3 to 5 years. This heavy metal has been an excellent hedge against inflation during this time and traditionally gold has always been a safe place to put your retirement dollars. Some financial experts think gold is even better now for retirement purposes, since it continues to break its own highs in the marketplace. A gold IRA or even a gold 401k plan at work is two examples of investment vehicles; which money planners want more people to consider getting, if they can find a way to link it with a gold investment. Anything you can change now in your financial portfolios, where you can expose yourself more to gold, is what the experts want us to look at going forward.

Historically we like having a little gold around in a IRA gold account, so we would have a steady earner and a safety net, in our overall investment holdings. Now the plan has changed as it pertains to gold in any investment arena. We are being told to get more aggressive with our approaches to the gold markets and using a gold IRA transfer if we have to; so we can buy more aggressive investment choices like bonds, stocks, mutual funds, and gold coins.

I wouldn’t get up to 50% of your total portfolio having some form of gold exposure. This would be too much of a risk, if half or more of your investment dollars had ties to gold. You can step it up at work and increase the 401k gold agreements you have with your employers. Ask for a bigger percentage to be with-held from your checks or shift things around, so you have a big exposure to gold investments. The financial planners never like going above 15%, within any one’s investment totals, into the same company or sector of the market. I do believe I would ignore this number and venture out a little further on the gold limb.

Stay below 50%, but investing up to 40% into a straight play on gold is a risk many investors are willing to make right now. Just because we haven’t seen gold slow down yet and until we get an idea on where the gold train will start to slow down, many investors will continue to holler “all aboard!”. I see the gold peak at $2150 per ounce in October of 2012. I see one month between now and this future peak; gold will be taking a big hit and going down to $968 an ounce. It could get unstable in the near future, but gold won’t lose its steam yet. If you want to retire one day, you better bet the farm on gold. It’s a must have for big and small investors.

 John Calipari has to be one of the most over rated coaches in college basketball today. He had an impressive couple of years at Memphis, where some of the best high school talent in the country got recruited by Coach Calipari and his staff. While showing no loyalty to the good folks in Memphis and those Tiger fans in Tennessee; the John Calipari Show would hit the road and go north into the Blue Grass State of Kentucky.

Now Kentucky has historically been a good basketball program. Many coaches before Calipari put the Kentucky basketball program on the map and truly a bright spot for the SEC. What Mr. Calipari failed to realize, is he was blazing a new trail in the South and this was a NCAA basketball trail, right through the streets of Memphis. The coach could have really been a legend in Volunteer Nation and could have created a Memphis basketball program that could play with a Kentucky Wildcats team or even the two blue schools that make up the Tobacco Road Rivalry in the ACC with the Tar Heels from North Carolina and their rivals the Duke Blue Devils. It would have been fun to watch Kentucky, North Carolina, Duke, and the talented recruits choosing Memphis, because Coach John Calipari would have been there. Instead, this NCAA Coach sold out his former team in Memphis and now the Tigers are back to mediocrity in the state of Tennessee and even below this in terms of a national ranking.

Those talented basketball players that he made promises to and the promises to these kids parents all got thrown out the window, because John Calipari was only concerned about his bank account and which school could give him the highest paycheck. For any talented basketball players with the Kentucky Wildcats on your mind, might want to reconsider another school, because Calipari will leave Kentucky if the NBA or another college offers him a higher pay check.

Today I got to watch John Calipari up close and his group of talented kids from Kentucky. No doubt, these tall, lean, and athletically gifted kids rolled into Athens, Georgia this Saturday afternoon looking sharp. For the Wildcats and the Georgia Bulldogs first SEC match up of the season. Calipari was a man with his head high in the air and his players carried that same strut, as they warmed up in the shoot around before the Bulldogs and Wildcats tipped it off.

Not sure how much of that Blue Grass Calipari and his staff has been smoking up there, but his team doesn’t have John Wallanymore and the Georgia Bulldogs have improved since last season. John Calipari did not have his boys ready to play in Athens, Georgia today. That was clear from the tip; when the Bulldogs ran off to a 7 to 2 start and Kentucky really got whipped by a scrappy bunch of Georgia kids, who were ready to play on this beautiful day in Georgia. Before the halftime break the Bulldogs let the Wildcats close the gap. Kentucky quickly regained their strut in the 2nd half and would have the lead in the 2nd half, but only for a short time.

These talented and strong basketball players like Trey Thompkins, Jeremy Price, and Chris Barnes was relentless inside for the Georgia Bulldogs. They controlled these mean and lean driving machines from Kentucky. Calipari didn’t install any offensive plays for his team, as most of their plays was a 2 or 3 pass, cut and weave and then hoisting a long jumper. If it wasn’t that play, it was the simple one on one play down the middle, where the Wildcat players would take the basketball strong to the hoop and these individual moves, did result in free throws for the Cats. Fans for the historic program of Kentucky have to be furious with John Calipari today. His team had no rhythm and none of the guards were leading the team or playing quarterback on the court. Kentucky basketball look really sad today in Georgia.

Now the size did present problems; when Barnes, Thompkins, and Price was establishing their presence on both ends of the floor. The high flying sensation Travis Leslie played a very calm game and took his leaps when needed and this young man did a fine job knocking down his free throws too. You could see the Wildcats had no speed on the court or at least no speed to contain Gerald Robinson. Number #22 is a blur for the Dawgs and not many guards in the country can keep up with him, but you figured Kentucky would first try to stop him and keep him from the paint. The Wildcat defense was clueless and was even going to a zone, just because the man-to-man match ups got too confusing for these kids playing away from their home floor and on the road in Georgia. Kentucky should have hired a gopher to keep an eye on number 22, because his penetration into the lane and his free-will to go anywhere on the floor he wanted, was the end of this game, before it ever really started.

Dustin Ware from Georgia has played well this year and his tempo is perfect for the Bulldog half-court sets. He controls the tempo and Robinson can elevate it to faster and sometimes he goes faster than faster. This team will be a tough opponent for any SEC team in college basketball. Georgia is slowly putting together a good squad that can contend on a national level.

The highest honor in the Peach State for a Georgia High School Basketball Player is known as Mr. Basketball. The Bulldogs are fortunate to have last year’s Mr. Basketball in Georgia on their team now and his name is Marcus Thornton. A very talented young man with long arms, a 6 foot 7 inch height on the floor and a healthy 225 pounds for this freshmen Bulldog player; who was born in Atlanta, Georgia. I have also heard about this year’s Mister Basketball in the state of Georgia has signed a letter of intent to be with the Georgia Bulldogs basketball team next year. This is great news for Mark Fox, the head coach of these young Dawgs. Fans in Athens and all around the state will enjoy watching the Dawgs have two Mr. Basketballs in the state of GA on their team for next season.

I believe any good basketball players living in Kentucky, Georgia, or other parts in the Southeastern United States, should take a close look at Mark Fox and the Georgia basketball program. This would be an excellent opportunity to play with a head coach who is committed to his players and let’s them play a fun-style of game. Head coach Fox allows his team to shoot 3 point jumpers from around the arc; while keeping a strong focus on their interior passing. Come play at Georgia, for those with a high skill level of basketball, so you can play with 2 Mr. Basketballs in the state of Georgia, and the highest flying act in college basketball today and that is the Mr. Travis Leslie.

He’s only 6-4 in height, but he can jump over 7 footers. Just ask the former Kentucky Wildcat player, who is now playing in the NBA for the Sacramento Kings, who is Travis Leslie? He will speak right up, because Leslie jammed one home on Demarcus Cousins (former SEC player who is a Sacramento Kings NBA player today) hard last year and he just simply jumped up and continue to elevate, until he had completely jumped over him! This picture of Travis Leslie doing his most famous dunkyet, doesn’t do complete justice, because the Bulldog junior would keep rising on this play, until  Leslie’s knees were over Demarcus Cousin’s head.

Not only is Travis just a junior in his 3rd year on campus, but the Bulldogs star player Trey Thomkins is also playing in his 3rd scholarship year. Both Leslie and Thompkins could return for their senior seasons, where they would be in great company. This team has the star power to be a final 4 NCAA team now. If everyone stays for next year, this Bulldog basketball team is guaranteed a ticket to the NCAA Final 4 in 2012!

The final score on this Saturday afternoon had the Georgia Bulldogs defeating the Wildcats from Kentucky 77 to 70. The colors of the Kentucky men’s team in basketball will not be the only thing blue on their long bus ride home, back to their Bluegrass State. John Calipari will be leading the chorus of blues these guys will be singing, as he has to figure out a way to get this group of thorough-bred race horses back on track. The fastest 2 minutes in sports might not be the Kentucky Derby, if the NBA comes calling for Calipari to coach on the next level. You can sure bet this man will leave his blues and his young men and the promises he has made to them in 2 minutes or less. Calipari has proven in Memphis, he’s going to coach for the highest bidder. Too bad a lot of good young ball players is having to live with their college choices, because they thought they were trusting a good and popular NCAA coach. John Calipari is no better than those horses that get a broken leg and need to be took out to the Pasteur and shot!

Kentucky’s historic basketball program is in trouble and it could take years for the best recruits in the country to decide to give this SEC school a try. While one SEC school is on the decline, another is climbing and this is the solid and professional staff of Mark Fox and the Georgia Bulldogs. In real life, we see dogs getting the upper hand on cats and now we are seeing it in college basketball. The Georgia Bulldogs have chosen a good school color with red, since their basketball program is flaming hot; while the Kentucky basketball history is singing the blues. Perhaps it’s even Memphis Blues? Hey John, amazing how things come back to bite you in the you-know-what, right?

Most of the time I fix dinner for us at home because I’ve always enjoyed cooking and there’s only two of us. But this year for New Year’s Eve, I suggested that we go out for a really nice meal as something special to us. We don’t really go out to eat all that often, or at least that’s what it feels like given our work schedules. My husband said that it was a really good idea, so I spent a lot of time trying to find a good restaurant to make a reservation at for the night.

I kind of wish that we had decided that we were going to go out to eat for the night because apparently people book these reservations even months ahead of time. While I was online looking up restaurants, I came across this website www.clear-internet.com/4g-internet-deals.html and after I read through it some, I signed up for a new internet service for our house through it.

We finally found this one really good local restaurant to go and eat New Year’s Eve dinner at. It’s a local one that we’ve been to once and you always hear good things about.

I was having a lot of problems with my Internet speed. Finally my computer just gave out all together. I had no idea what it was and was almost ready to take it in to the computer guy. It turned out, I had a network cable loose and this was the cause to all of my PC problems. Now my speed is back to normal and the computer is working like new. Before you take your computer to a repair place for computers, be sure to check all of your cable connections first. You may have a loose cable too and this is a simple problem to fix, once you discover which PC cable is to blame. I know all about the stresses that come with a bad computer. Avoid these stressful times with your computer and fix the problem as soon as you notice one. Sometimes the solution is very simple and you won’t know until you try!

I hope to find lots of gold in 2011. I want to find a rich deposit of this heavy metal, so I can have a relaxing 2012. I want to work in 2011 and I plan to work hard. If I can find enough gold to fill up a few steel drums, I think I would be set for life. One drum that was full of gold, would be almost priceless and could get the youngest person in the world to their golden years in a wealthy style. In order to achieve this, it takes time, financial investments, and hard work. I’m willing to do all 3, for the chance to let a treasure chest of gold lead me to the promise land.

There are so many places in the world to go skiing now that ski season is upon us. Spain has been gaining popularity for skiing and air fares are favorable form the state. However, here is a little secret our family recently discovered on a trip to Madrid.

Besides viewing the highly historical and cultural points of interest in Madrid, there is one nearby option to ski without trekking into the mountains. On a mere 20 minute ride from the city center to Xanadu, we came upon the Madrid Ski Zone quite by accident.

Actually, it was late spring and our family was planning to do some shopping at the Madrid- Xanadu Shopping Center. The mall contained an indoor ski center and we had not planned to ski.

The snow park happens to be the largest indoor ski slope in all of Europe also. It is over 800 feet and opened all year round. The Madrid SkiZone is divided into a novice section and another area for more experienced skiers. Lessons and all equipment are accessible. The kids can snowboard too.

Afterwards we set out to what we originally planned to do by shopping. I am a lousy skier, but I felt secure and comfortable here, and cannot wait to return.

The school year is half way over for most U.S. students. After the holidays are over, students will return for the 2nd part of their school year. The high school students will be starting their 2nd semesters and may need a special notebook pad or folder for the new classes they will begin taking. We often think about the greatest day for a couple. Most of us naturally think the wedding day is the biggest day for a new couple seeking to get married. However, most people usually say the best day of their life, is when one of their children were born. So if you were comparing the two days; which day do you think is the biggest day for newlyweds? Is the biggest day, the time you were passing out wedding invitations for your wedding day and you think the day you got married is the most important? Or was it during those times when you had friends and family members helping you to create those beautiful baby announcements; which you would soon be sending out to everyone you knew? The groom and bride may have different opinions about which day was more important. We do know the women felt a lot better in the months leading up to her wedding day, as compared to the months leading up to the delivery date of her first child. I do think both days are important and will be the biggest two days of your life. Some couples may view them as equals, but there has to be one day, that was bigger than the other one, right?

In real life, I never had any jobs that involved advertising or promoting a product or service. Telemarketing was about as close as I came to advertising; while working in the work force. Since 2005, I have became more involved with home-based businesses and affiliate programs, trying to earn a living that way. Over these past 5 years, I have learned a lot of new and creative ways to market a product or a service online. I can now appreciate TV commercials or other forms of advertising, when I see a talented marketer at work.

The snow just kept falling and falling on Saturday in North Georgia. The city of Canton slowly was vanishing before our eyes, as a rare 129 year snow storm blanketed the Cherokee County region. I say 129 years, because it was in 1881, in which this area had a significant snow fall total on December 25th or a White Christmas. I do remember a snow dusting on Christmas morning about 10 to 15 years ago, but as the noon hour approached on that Christmas Day, most of the snow had melted away. That snow fall had nothing on the Winter Snow Storm of 2010, where we saw the whitest Christmas ever in the hills and mountains of North Georgia.

All over the state of Georgia, you could find the white stuff. While most of the kids were all waking up early to open up their Christmas presents; which good ol’ Jolly St. Nick had delivered to the Georgia Kids in the overnight hours, there wasn’t even a flake in sight. Even as the morning approached the noon hour, there was still no wintry precipitation to speak of. As the kids begin to find their best toys to play with, while the parents were gathering up the Christmas paper trash, and the smells of Christmas Dinner began to fill the house, those first few flakes fell from the Peach State skies. These were no ordinary flakes and most Georgia Residents saw this right away. Our typical tiny and dry snow flakes, had been replaced by flakes as big as your hand and they were super wet and juicy flakes too! These were those snowflakes you build snowmen with and we don’t get to see snow like this much around here. And for these big, wet flakes to be falling on Christmas Day had never been seen by any person living, unless we have a 129 year-old citizen living here, I am unaware of.

Yep, it was over 100 years ago, before anything like this had ever been to our state on Christmas Day. Now once these big flakes started falling, they just didn’t stop. It was flake after flake and this went on hour after hour. The flakes stayed big and more importantly, they stayed falling!

People in Georgia know the White Christmas song and how that guy was dreaming of it. We all dreamed of it too, but we knew it was like unicorns, big foot, and a smart politician; something that just didn’t exist! Now it seems anything is possible! If Georgia and more specifically Canton, Georgia can have a White Christmas with several inches of snow; then anything is possible.

I can’t tell you how many times I have watched that movie A Christmas Story and saw all the scenes with snow in it. Even when Ralphie wakes up on Christmas Morning, his first move is to open the window and see all the snow and ice that has formed on the trees over night and the winter wonderland it created. I watch this movie 6 times or more each Christmas Day, but only to see the snow on TV and not in real life. This Christmas was much different! The first couple of times I watched A Christmas Story today, there was no snow around. However, that would all change around the 3rd or 4th airing of it on TBS and we would have our own snow, just like Ralphie did! I would glance out the window to see snow, then to the TV to see snow, then would glance back outside to only see more snow. The snows in Georgia just kept falling, and falling, and falling. It was like the Energizer Bunny, but only in the form of wintry precipitation.

Even as night fell 0n the Christmas Day of 2010, we still saw the snow coming down in big flakes. The whole North Georgia region is under a big blanket of Christmas Snow and all of those White Christmas Dreams have been answered. We are no longer dreaming of a White Christmas, because we are living that White Christmas now!
