The biggest fish I ever caught was a catfish. I caught him in the Etowah River in North Georgia. My monster cat was nothing like the one seen in the picture. I doubt my big catfish would have weighed 10 pounds. I have seen and heard about monster catfish that can be caught in rivers and lakes.

What is the biggest catfish you ever caught? I would love to go on a night fishing trip and try to land one of these huge fish. They would be hard to land if they weighed 20 pounds or more. I know my biggest catch ever took me about 30 minutes to get him ashore. A monster cat that went closer to 100 pounds would probably be an all night battle.

You would have to start off with some really strong fishing line. I’m not sure what the strongest line is, but that’s the line I would use. A few big hooks and a lot of bait would also need to be in the tackle box. I would want to start fishing in the daylight, so I could plan out my strategy for landing a big catfish. I bet most fishermen have to take to the water, so they don’t lose a fish this big. I would need to see this during the daylight hours, so I would be prepared after dark to catch my monster cat.

I guess chicken liver that is really bloody would be the best bait choice. It seems that would draw the most attention from these big fish. Before you can land the big one, you might have to reel in a few small ones first. Once you get the fish swimming around and the smell of chicken liver and blood in the water, I think the bigger catfish would head your way. I believe it’s the amino acids that actually attract fish to your hook. I wonder if you can buy a bottle of pure amino acids to soak the chicken liver in first? That would probably be a good recipe for a catfish bait. Especially if you have dreams of landing a monster cat one night. I say “night” because most catfish are active during the night time hours. You can catch them during the day, but most fishermen seem to do better at night. Please feel free to share your big catfish stories and let me know what the biggest catfish you ever caught weighed.

The ATV (all terrain vehicle) is a lot different today; than the ones I had to choose from while growing up. The 4 wheeler is the most common one, but some of the modern ATV’s look more like a golf cart on steroids. I really like them, but don’t like the price tag that comes along with them. The ones that look similar to a golf cart can cost as much as a small car. It’s not too cheap to buy a modern ATV, but you can still find some good deals on the used ones. I know finances is a big deal for me these days. I would still like to save up some money and buy an ATV for myself. I’m not into the atv racing and really don’t need one for speed. A working man’s four wheeler would be more of my style and be a lot more useful to me.

I have a lake nearby my house I like to go fishing at and it’s about a 1 mile walk. I usually drive my car there, but each time it rains, the road leading to the lake gets rougher and rougher. There is about 100 acres of land that surround the lake and more trails than you could cover in a day’s time. An ATV would help me get to my fishing hole; while also giving me another reason to get out of the house and away from this computer. I stay indoors too much now and I really want to spend some time with Mother Nature this summer.

I have started gold panning this year. A brand new 4 wheeler would be a big help, for getting to those hard-to-reach creek areas; where I would like to look for gold. Based on my current financial situation, I may need to find a little gold, before I can get my new ATV.

Pigeon Forge is such a beautiful place with many things to do. My family and I wanted to stay in one of the many cabins that can be found there. High speed Internet made planning my vacation to Pigeon Forge one of the simplest things I ever did. I typed into the search engine that I was using, Pigeon Forge cabin rentals and was able to find many different options. I need a cabin that had two rooms and two bathrooms. I went through a couple of websites and was able to find a perfect match and it was very secluded in the woods making it a very private vacation. Pigeon Forge is full of many different things to do. You can find some of the best shopping in the world there. I used my computer and was able to find reviews on some places to shop and found the Tanger Outlets. That was some of the best shopping, it took us hours to get through all the stores. We were also able to find some of the Barbeque places to visit. Since we were in Tennessee, we figured that would be the best thing to eat and boy were we right!

You cannot experience a place unless you get to do everything. There were many different parks that we were able to visit and some of the most amazing foods that we have ever eaten. Being organized and planing ahead made for one of the best vacations that we have ever been on. We were able to stay within our budget that we set before left our drive way. I am going to make sure to plan each and every vacation before going and having access to . Direct TV and Clear made planning the vacation a snap. Being able to make our decisions before hand helped us in many different ways and I would recommend doing the same to anyone who asked.

When my grandparents lost their hearing it was a difficult time. It came to the point where everything you said needed to be repeated. Hearing loss is so frustrating for the family and friends of someone with the disability but think about the person with hearing loss is suffering. They simply cannot enjoy the things that they used to.

After one visit in particular to my grandparents’ house it became very clear that they would both need hearing aids. The time came where shopping around for hearing aids became extremely important. Star Forwards in the ATL

Ding Ding! The bell is ringing for round 2 action to begin in the NBA playoffs. The Hawks next mission gets underway tonight in Orlando. The Orlando Magic have been a tough team for Jamal Crawford and the Atlanta Hawks to handle this year. The first person you must stop is Superman himself. Dwight Howard is the beast inside that opens up the 3 point game for the Magic team. If the Hawks play it smart from the start, they can foul Howard each time down low and send him to the foul line. Dwight Howard is not a good free throw shooter and force him to beat you at the stripe. Most NBA teams would take this approach, but we are talking about Mike Woodson’s Hawks and not the talented team that could easily beat the Magic in 5 games; if they would play an up tempo style of game and run those guys off the floor.

Atlanta’s star Jamal Crawford will have a lot on his plate tonight as he tries to find help from team members. The young forwards must play well, for Crawford and the Hawks to steal one in Central Florida this week. One guy that is one of the top 5 most productive players on the team for the Hawks, barely sees game time action. Why Mario West isn’t making millions in the NBA and getting 30 minutes a night is beyond me. Playing time will be awarded to Marvin Williams (pictured on the left) and Josh Smith (pictured on the right). The Eastern Conference’s best forward duo will have to show their elevation skills and dunk a few home to quiet those rowdy fans down in Orlando tonight. The Hawks need to lob a few each quarter to the basket, to make Orlando aware of the alley hoop play. This creates plays for Jamal Crawford and Mike Bibby to drive the lane and put home floaters. It will have to start with the forwards for Atlanta and then be up to the guards to bring it home. Atlanta’s guards can’t win this one from the field though, they will need to get buckets in the paint.

One guard that doesn’t work well in the paint for the Hawks is Joe Johnson. He doesn’t make smart decisions and is way too tentative. He rarely goes up strong and his poor shot selections, one on one game, and his turnovers make him about the 7th or 8th most productive player on the floor, for this Hawks basketball team. Despite what you hear from the National Media about Joe Johnson being the star in the ATL, you only have to watch one or two games to know that this is far from the truth. Joe made all star games, due to the coaching, local TV personalities (Wilkins and Rathburn), and the Owners fabricating an NBA star. The real star power in Atlanta these days is Jamal Crawford and any true Hawks fan can tell you; that he’s the true superstar on the team.

Atlanta can win both games in Orlando and should come back home to lose the first home game and then win game 4 at Philips. If things work out just right, I could see the Hawks putting the Magic out in Game 5 of this year’s NBA playoffs. The problem is with the coach right now. He never got his team motivated to beat the Bucks and only let them give up nightly; until the Hawks team could lose no more. You can’t do this with the defending Eastern Conference champs. You must take it straight to them and build a big lead each quarter. Note to Mike Woodson, you don’t have to wait until the 4th quarters to win basketball games (like you stated earlier in the year). You know, when you said basketball games are won in the 4th quarter. If a team wins the first quarter and each quarter after, you usually can wrap up the game in the first couple of minutes of the 4th quarter. Play for the blow out and not the win. When you just play for the win, it causes the team to lose the game in the first 3 quarters. And you do need to shut your mouth when you talking about “milking the clock”. That is the very thing that is wrong with this team now Mike Woodson! You don’t milk nothing! You go out and play hard from start to finish and you don’t just win games, but you pound teams into the ground! Milking only creates opportunities for beaten teams to get back into ball games. If you want an NBA championship, you will have to stop milking leads and go out and pound teams!

I will be rooting for the Hawks tonight and each night. However, the team has yet to show no leadership or coaching signs of a team that wants it all in the NBA. If the change doesn’t start tonight, we don’t want Mike Woodson back in the head coaching spot in Atlanta. Go Hawks!

Ok, first of all, let’s get rid of the word “obese” and change that to “fat“. Not trying to be insensitive, I just don’t see how sugar-coating words help any. If you want to battle tough issues, like bullies and bullying in schools; then take out the nice and politically correct words. Let’s face it, some kids are fat and some are not. Some kids are skinny and some are not. Some kids are cute and some are not. This is just a part of life and we all have to deal with it. If you have a fat kid, he or she may not win any marathons. If you have a skinny kid, they may not win any weight-lifting competitions. If you have an ugly kid, they may not win any beauty pageants. And so on and so on…

This new study I read today at Yahoo, states that fat kids or kids who are overweight, are the main targets for bullies. Kids who are different from others in their schools are always a lightning rod for getting bullied. A child that comes from a low-income family, their race, gender, and a lot of other things can be reasons for them getting bullied at school. According to the Yahoo study at their health section on May 3rd, they have found that fat kids get bullied more than all of these other reasons. If your child is overweight, it doesn’t matter if they are black or white, male or female, or if they come from upper, middle, or lower class families. They will have the bulls-eye on them, simply because they are overweight.

I found this to be an interesting angle on bullying. Many of the Hollywood movies, cartoons like the Simpsons, and from my own experiences as a child, I fould the bullies them self to be overweight in most cases. How often do we see the skinny kid being the bully in a movie or TV program? Aren’t most bullies the one that threaten other kids with their large size and the fact they could beat the snot out of them? Or at least sit on them? I do understand that fat kids will be the target of bullying, but I also believe they’re responsible for it too. The topic of bullies in schools is very popular right now and I really don’t see why. This is a part of growing up and just about every boy or girl has had to face or deal with a bully in their lifetimes.

Don’t Cute Kids Get Bullied Too?

I think a cute kid, male or female, has a big chance for getting bullied at some point in their lives growing up. A cute boy that the girls all like, will be targeted by other boys who may be jealous of his cute ways. A pretty girl growing up that has the eye of all her male classmates, may not be like by the other girls in her school. I think the Yahoo study should show that it’s the physical appearance that kids have, that make them the targets for bullies. Not fair to say fat kids are the number 1 target; when it really boils down to the physical traits a child has.

I believe we have bigger issues to face with our kids; than trying to stop bullying. Growing up with bullies is a part of life. Over time, the bullies eventually meet someone bigger and stronger than them and they get their own dose of bullying. The fat kid or the the ugly kid will one day see someone fatter or more ugly than them and they become a bully. There is no cure for bullying and most of this is kids just being kids.

I know if we could stomp out bullying it would make our children enjoy going to school more. If they never have to face a bully growing up, what will happen when they face one for the first time as an adult? Our children need a few bumps in the road and a bully is one of the most common bumps a child has on their educational paths. Learning things and dealing with things as a child is much better than having to face some of these issues as an adult. The mistakes our youngsters make are much more easier to fix; than the ones adults create.

I find the latest study at Yahoo, that points fat kids as the most likely targets, as a poor work of journalism. I’m guessing the author of this article is overweight or has a child that is overweight. Kids are mean, they don’t mean to be, but they are. Your fat kid is just as likely to be the target as they’re to be the actual bully and that makes them the problem. Let’s don’t put a weight on bullying in school. Clearly the physical appearances each child has and is different from the other kids, will have some issues to face. It doesn’t always have to be bad. Let’s let kids learn in school, because the lessons taught at early ages are much better, than the laws and jails that teach these lessons as adults.

Other Reasons Why Kids Get Bullied

The physical traits are the number 1 reason why kids get bullied in school. It’s not the only reasons that make them targets. What if your child is really smart or a slow learner in school? These two traits both get attacked equally and I wouldn’t say smart kids get bullied more than dumb kids. Why would anyone else say that fat kids or obese kids get targeted more than tall or short kids?

The clothing your child wears to school can make them the targets for being bullied. Since we don’t want bullies in school, I guess parents need to make their kids wear a different selection of outfits, right? Well if we start down this road; then all of our kids will be dressing the way others in their classroom dress. This totally cuts out the freedom of expression in our children. Making yourself more likable or more appropriate for others is not the right way to handle things. It’s great we are all different and we all have the freedom to dress or wear our hair the way we want to. No anti-bully rules should cross these lines and try to make all our kids the same. Let’s keep kids the same, so they can learn at a early age that we are all different. If they learn these differences as an adult, it could lead to them getting hurt from physical violence or they could just end up on the wrong side of the law.

Fat kids are not the problem! Adults trying to fix bullying in school is the problem. I realize some kids have committed suicide or chose to carry a gun to school to handle things on their own and these tragic situations can be led back to being bullied. It’s unfortunate when these things happen, but these cases are few and far in between. Parents, politicians, and school systems can really make things worse and one example of this, is the poorly written article at Yahoo, that claims fat kids are the top targets for kids to pester in school. Teach your kids the best way you know how and let’s let our kids handle the bullying issues. Parents should give advice and help their children when certain situations warrant the attention. For the most part, our kids will handle these bullying issues in school on their own. If more adults keep writing trash like that person at Yahoo did about bullying, we could really have a problem in this area one day.

To me, the scariest movies are not the ones where people are being chased by an axe-wielding maniac in the woods. I don’t find that realistic, so I don’t have to worry about it. The scariest movies are the ones that are based on realistic situations. And one of these movies is Arlington Road. It’s a movie about domestic terrorism and it’s very frightening. What’s unfortunate about this movie is that not many people know about it. On the other hand, this could be a good thing, because if someone hasn’t seen it and happens to read this, they will be in for a pleasant surprise. It’s definitely a movie that will have your nerves on edge. One of the freakiest scenes is when Jeff Bridges investigates Tim Robbins’ home office while at a barbeque. Tim Robbins catches him and you know things are about to get ugly, but not in a physical way – in more of a manipulative fashion. This makes it more frightening. A fist fight would end after a few minutes. A manipulative man involved in domestic terrorism doesn’t operate that way. He’s going for the kill.

I watched Arlington Road on one of the direct tv packages the other night and I was hooked from start to finish. The opening scene of this movie is by far one of the most powerful opening scenes I have ever seen. The same can be said for the closing scene of the movie. And everything in-between is a buildup of suspense. You can only hope that the bad guy will be stopped, but you also sense that the odds might be too far stacked against him. It’s not like most movies, where you know the good guy will win in the end. This is definitely different. I won’t give away the ending. You will have to see it for yourself.

What are our dreams? I know what we think they’re, but I have my doubts. It seems there a lot of gaps and no one is exploring this fascinating field. Those that travel the oceans and have a big interest always seem to say the same thing. They talk about how man has worked so hard to leave the Earth and explore outer space; yet we don’t even know what lies at the bottom of our oceans. Staying along those lines of thought, I think we have advanced for into the medical field, but yet the simple things like the common cold and our dreams have no true answers.

I do understand how the common cold works and it really isn’t that common at all despite the name. Our colds are complex and they come in a zillion trillion million forms, so I guess in theory, we will never have the cure for the “common” cold. We may cure some of them, but no one probably thinks we will get them all. I understand that, but what about our simple daytime and night time dreams?

A day time dream can seem more intense and more memorable. Why is that? Maybe something as simple as our bodies aren’t use to the daytime dreams and our sleep patterns get broke up more easily. At night for most people they sleep in a cycle. In the middle of that cycle is where we dream. By the time we complete our night time sleep cycles, it’s hard to remember our dreams. For people that want to remember their dreams better at night, they can keep a pen and paper nearby, so when they wake up, they can jot down as many things as they can possibly remember. It’s interesting how quick we forget our dreams. Why do we remember them so well when we first wake up, but later in the afternoon or evening, we forget them so quickly?

This all goes back to the human brain and it’s fascinating to think how our brains work. Our brains can store lots of memories and process data much faster than the biggest, most powerful computer on the planet. Our dreams seem to fall in a short term memory bank in our brains. Why is that? Why do we remember details of 2 weeks ago, 2 months ago, or even 2 years ago so well; yet 12 hours after waking up, most of us can remember we had a cool/bad dream, but we forgot the details. Is our brains storing our dreams in this short term memory bank? Why is it that very few dreams get into our long term memory banks?

Another question that has been asked by men since the beginning of time, is probably the most popular one. Why are we here? Why was this planet and our solar system created for us to have life? Is it possible that our dreams are trying to provide us these clues? I know that may sound far-fetch, but why are we here? I think our dreams is the most religious experience many of us will ever have. Does these experiences from our dreams provide answers to why man is here on Earth? It is worth taking a look at. Besides, where would you begin to look for answers to why we are really here? I hope more funding and research can be provided in my lifetime, to provide more answers or even theories to why we dream and is it related to something much bigger?

Please give your feedback and have you ever thought outside of the box? If you push away the science now (which isn’t much if you ask me) on why we do have dreams and try to place them in a much bigger puzzle, I think it gets more interesting and exciting too; that our dreams may offer answers that will go further than any man-made satellite into outer space. With the fallen economy, I recently got laid off. One day back in the 1950′s a couple of killers drove to a home in Kansas, where they believed a safe was located in the house. One killer got this knowledge from another prisoner he was serving time with in prison. This information would be used by this convicted man to travel to Kansas; when he was released from his criminal punishment sentence. Him and another man made the long drive to Kansas; where they broke into this home late one night. They would tear the house up looking for a safe that wasn’t in the home. This probably outraged the men more and before it was all over, they would murder an entire family. This was shocking news back in the 1950′s; just like it would be today in 2010.

A man named Capote made the trip to middle America, that was centered right in the heartland of our country. He wanted to hear the killers side of the story and understand why these men would do such an evil thing. This man Capote would have a book and movie done about the information he learned while investigating this true life story. I have seen the movie Capote, but never read the book. For those that have read this true-life book, I was wondering what you thought about the book. Do you think the book is better than the movie? I know in most cases, the book is better than the movie. A book allows us to go inside the minds of the characters and I’m sure a lot more can be told about Capote’s thoughts in the book; compared to the movie. I would rate the movie Capote as a very average movie. The fact it’s a true story, makes me like this movie much better than if it was a fictional work of art.

This is a very sad story, to see an innocent family lose their lives on this horrible night back in the 1950′s era. Especially when we learn that it was a mistake in information that got passed from one person to another. A well-known and well-liked family was all murdered by a couple of men that had no business destroying the lives of this Kansas family. If it wasn’t for a man named Capote, we may have long forgot about this tragedy. So I do think some credit is owed to him, for future generations to remember this innocent family from Kansas that didn’t deserve the faith that was handed to them, more than a half of century ago.

It was the Juniper bonsai tree that was featured in a big Hollywood movie most of us have seen. There are many other types of bonsai trees that exist in the garden area in stores or can be found online for sale. I didn’t know what a bonsai tree was, before I seen this one certain movie that featured this beautiful and unique tree. Do you know the movie I am talking about? You may remember how to paint a fence, wash a car, or catch a fly with chop sticks better than the bonsai tree part of this movie. Now do you know the famous movie that featured a bonsai tree? If you’re thinking about standing on one leg and doing a “crane kick“; then I believe you know which movie has the bonsai tree. It was a movie our school librarian showed to us in the 6th grade and the first time I ever seen it. So it’s not a recent movie, but still comes on TV a lot. The bonsai tree movie was the Karate Kid and it’s still one of my top 10 movies of all time. Anytime I see or hear about a bonsai tree, I quickly think about actor Pat Morita teaching Ralph Macchio, the art of clipping and shaping a bonsai tree. A lot of the bonsai trees don’t look like the one in the movie, but they’re still a part of the bonsai tree family.
