Heat Wave Continues in the South
It just keeps getting hotter here in the good ol South. I really can’t remember when it has ever been like this before. The drought conditions and the heat are making it tough for everybody. The elderly and kids need to be watched very closely as this heat wave continues. The air quality if very poor right now too, so staying indoors during the hottest part of the day is a good idea too.
I just heard on the news today here in Atlanta that a woman died from the heat. So it’s a very serious situation and fall is still a long ways away. If it doesn’t rain soon, then the lakes and rivers are going to continue drying up. They have been measuring temps on the lake in the 90’s. That is extremely warm and I have never recalled the water temperatures being that high.
Hurricane season is here now, but there really isn’t anything that is developing in the Gulf of Mexico where we might get most of our rains from. Tropical storms play a huge role in the Southeast during the fall time of the year. As bad as I hate to say it, I believe we need a hurricane to hit the U.S. for some much needed rain in our area. Be safe out there and be sure to drink plenty of liquids and keep your body hydrated!Click here for reuse options!
