Chevy Silverado

Nothing fancy for me when it comes to choosing my dream truck. I get more wild with my dream car selections, but a good basic truck is all I need for my dream truck. I think the older models of the Chevrolet Silverado is perfect for me. I don’t have anything against the newer versions of the Silverado, but those made in the 1980′s have a nice look. It’s a rugged look and a truck you could work with or go off road with if you wanted to. It’s getting harder and harder to find the Chevy Silverados from the 80′s that look good and still run good. I have been wanting one of these older model Silverados for a long time and I know I am running out of time, if I don’t buy one in the next couple of years.

It wouldn’t be wise to drive a 1980′s truck across country or for any long distant trips. If I left my home on the east coast and headed for the U.S. west coast, I know I would probably break down around Texas somewhere. I would then have to rely on a Dallas auto repair shop to get my Silverado fixed and back on the road again. It may need more repairs once I got to the west coast or have to stop in at Dallas again on my return trip. Car repairs are normal for those that take long trips, but making these trips in older vehicles is not smart to begin with. If you currently own a Chevrolet Silverado, please tell me the longest trip you made and did you experience any problems? I think travelers would be fine for a long trip in the newer Silverados; it’s the ones from the 1980′s that I would have my doubts about. They are good about not breaking down if you drive them around locally. You may have to get a brake job done every now and then, but the overall running condition would stay good, if you did avoid the long trips in these classic trucks.

80's Sliverado

Do you like the older Chevy trucks from the 1980′s? Or would you prefer one of the newer model Silverados? I’m happy with a simple truck and one that I wouldn’t worry about putting a few scratches on. I never owned a work truck. I think all men need one and they’re good for hauling stuff that you can’t do with a car. They say if you keep the oil changed in these trucks they will last a lifetime. I will be sure to keep my dream truck up, if I ever get a chance to buy one.
