Anytime in our country where we have a recession, bad economy, or people are losing jobs. The crime rates always go up. It works the same every time. You can pretty much set your watch to it; when comparing the economy with crime in this country. As of right now, there are still a lot of folks out of work and our economy is still trying to rebound. This probably means the crime rate will stay high and probably last through the Christmas holiday season.

There are some ways to protect yourself from people who want to steal your valuables. You first must learn what it is they want to steal. The tech-gadgets, like iPods, laptops, and cell phones are all items a thief would like to get their hands on. You may not always be able to stop the crime from happening, but you can do things now, to help soften the blow, if you become the victim of a high-tech crime. Dish Wins Lockout - Sports TV Back!

The days of Rupert Murdoch and his huge company News Corporation trying to bully the TV industry are quickly coming to an end. The power from Murdoch’s Company trying to force Dish Network customers into paying most of the satellite costs; while letting Directv escape any rate increases won’t work! Why? Because Dish Network refused to give in, to these bullying tactics, in which News Corporation and Fox Network supported; along side their greedy leader Rupert Murdoch.

Fox Sports has had a rough month. After not getting approved for their attempts to steal money from Dish customers, on the days right before October 1st. They demanded their sports channels to be pulled from the Dish Network line-up of sports programming. The Dish company urged Fox Sports to leave the channels up; while they continued with the negotiations, between the two parties. Nope, the over-confident folks in charge over at Fox said they wanted their channels off the Dish Network now! They are the ones who had absolutely no respect for you and didn’t care if you were going to miss your college football games or any of the MLB games; as baseball played their final regular season games of the year.

This was NOT Dish Network who pulled the plug and left sports fans without access to their local sports programming. Fox Sports had full confidence, the largest satellite company in the land, would give-in and meet their rate increases. They just knew Dish would not want to face their customers, if they couldn’t offer them their favorite local sports team. The pressure from angry satellite subscribers is what Fox Sports was counting on, so they could get away with their new rate increases, which were more than 50% higher!

So with no options or room to talk like civilized business people, the only thing Dish Network could legally do, was to honor the requests of the owners of Fox Sports. Which was to terminate their sports channels immediately from the Dish Network family of channels. When Dish customers turned on their TV sets and saw there was no sports to be watched, a lot of initial reactions and blame went toward the Dish Network Company. Which was really unfair to them, since it was the Fox Network and News Corporation folks who had actually pulled the plug.

I am one of the biggest sports fans you will find. I love all of my local pro and college sports teams. Not having access to these Fox Sports Channels was every bit as rough for me, if not rougher, than any other sports fans out there, who was dealing with this Fox Blackout. I immediately wanted to see what was going on. Who was to blame? What options do I have? How much longer will this Dish Blackout last? I was in a high-speed panic mode and had no idea what my research and investigations was going to find, in this Sports Blackout; which was going on between Dish and Fox Sports.

One of the first things I was able to find out for sure, was the company responsible for the blackout. It was Fox Sports who demanded to Dish Network, for them to pull their channels off the air. Dish Network was not left with any choices at this point, so by laws governing the air waves in America, the satellite company took away these sports channels.

After learning how the end came to be, I wanted to know what Dish Network had did wrong, for them to even be put in this situation. I was ready to uncover these Dish mistakes and highlight them online, for everyone to know what led to the Fox Network’s decision to pull these channels off the air, in such a brute and angry manner.

Well it’s hard to explain each and every detail, but if you wanted to try and put it in a nutshell; I guess you could say Dish Network’s mistake, was not having Rupert Murdoch for a owner or TV partner? I know that may sound a little lame, but you can’t even imagine how the real details of this 21st century high-tech battle for television revenues played out.

It all started with the recession in this country; which we are not just beginning to work our way out of it. Since these hard times in our nation’s financial troubles, we are not as rich as we use to be. Our country does not hold the wealth it once did just 5 or 10 years ago. At least 1 million college educated employees, who had been working for the same company for at least 1 year, was suddenly out of a job and having trouble finding a new one. As people lost their jobs, they could no longer afford to pay for their monthly mortgage bills. While banks were foreclosing on these home owners in debt, they were left with no loan payments coming in for their spending money. Finally the whole thing just caved in and the Government had to step in and start bailing companies out and pumping money into the economy with the stimulus package.

Now I know most of you know this story, because we all lived through it. In one way or another, the recession has affected all of our lives and in many cases, it is still uncertain how we will get our next job or pay check. Everybody in the United States of America knew this country was in financial trouble and just how unstable the Amercian home and family are right now. The fabric of our society is being held together by a paper thin thread. The slighest trouble for any industry these days, could have a domino-effect on an entire sector of the market. While we all know this as Americans, it seemed the people running Fox Sports had no knowledge of Americans losing jobs and homes.

The reason I know Fox Sports knew nothing about the recession or troubles facing Americans today, is because they asked for Dish Network customers to pay for their expensive homes, luxury cars, corporate office buildings, and other expenses they have acquired; while operating their sports programming around the country. All the executives from Fox Sports did, was to figure out their bills and how much money their company owed in expenses and how much money they would need to maintain their comfortable lifestyles. Once they got their dollar figure of the money they needed to make, it was time to bill their customers, who were using their television sports services.

Since Rupert Murdoch, had ties with Fox, News Corporation, and Directv, they would not be asking for any pay increases from these customers, who were related to Murdoch services. The satellite company called Directv would be free of any pay increases or rate hikes, so their satellite services and prices could stay competitive with their biggest competitor Dish Network. While not increasing the Fox Sports rates for Directv Customers any, the Dish Network customers would see a rate hike, and they could just finish paying off the bill; for the money figure Fox Sports needed to operate on and to maintain luxury lifestyles.

What Fox Sports didn’t realize, they were trying to increase Dish customer’s rates by more than 50%! And they were shocked when Dish Network refused to accept these outrageous charges? After seeing all of this, I knew the culprit was Fox Sports and they had been the blame from the start. So what finally caused Fox Sports to give in?

Well after Dish not only refuses to pay higher rates, they are also left with 0 money owed to Fox Sports. In order to survive this sports blackout, they would have to increase rates to Directv customers and advertisers. Which Directv would not be too happy with and why would advertisers pay more; when their TV ads would be seen by less people? The World in which Fox Sports executives were living-in, no longer exists now. They were the last group in America to be affected by the recession. Now what future costs will Fox Sports be paying for their childish and spoiled rich ways?

All advertisers who are seeking advertisements on television today, do want to continue avoid Fox Sports, the Fox News Channel, the local Fox stations, and the Fox Business Channel. Any TV channel that has the Fox name attached to it, is not a safe or wise long-term choice for advertising. The situation at Fox Sports is still very unsteady and they are not out of the woods yet. They still have to reconcile with the NCAA, Major League Baseball, NHL Hockey, and the National Basketball Association; which has just started up their season and was unable to bring their first games of the season to Dish Network sports fans, because Fox Sports blacked them out.

Advertising on Fox TV Stations is NOT recommended. The sports world is going to have a long talk with Fox Sports for their senseless acts and all the problems they caused for them self and sports fans who missed out on their favorite teams playing. I wouldn’t be surprised to see the NBA and MLB go to other networks and if this happens, don’t expect the NHL to hang around either. Fox Sports will be working their way out of this deep hole for a long time to come and I will be directing advertisers away from Fox Sports and Fox Channels every chance I get.

The final conclusion is the Dish Network Company won and did the right thing, by not paying ridiculous rate increases. Now by standing up to a huge corporation like News Corporation, it gives this satellite company something the other satellite company doesn’t have. A backbone!

Not all computer jobs are located inside a comfortable office building with air conditioning. I’m sure those that go to school for computer training, so they can get computer jobs, probably have this image in their head. Parents don’t have much of a choice these days, in deciding if they want their kids to have cell phones or not. Some people may feel it’s not right to spy on our children and we should trust them. Well I don’t think any of these rules apply, when it comes to the safety and well-being of our kids. Each one has their own unique ways of making a simple problem worse and in most cases, it’s not being able to understand what it is I am complaining about.

Feel free to mention specific companies and give a general description of what your complaint was about. Perhaps I can get you further assistance and work a little higher up the food chain. If you will list a specific company and give enough details, where I can buy into your complaint and take your side in the issue, I will contact these companies on your behalf and see if I can get justice for you.

I know I can have better luck as a 3rd party and as a negotiator between two sides; than I can for my own customer service complaints. Now is your chance to use my blog as a vehicle for your complaints and try to get a little justice. Feel free to share any complaint stories you have for any industry or company. I will probably only be able to help those who have had an unresolved issue in the last 1 year or 12 months. If you have already taken some type of reward or reimbursement, I may not be able to help. If you have a current issue with a specific company and they haven’t did anything to help; then I might be able to help get you a better answer or reimbursement for your troubles.

 No company will want to be the main topic for this blog subject and I’m sure there will be plenty of companies, who will want to quickly resolve these individual problems with you, so they are not a target on this blog or any of my other blogs, for offering poor services, poor products, or just poor customer service to their customers. So go ahead and take advantage of this opportunity now, to help find justice with any company who is refusing to give you a fair settlement for the problems you have had to endure over the past few days, weeks, or even months.

OK, let me be the bad guy here and state the obvious. I know some will have problems with this, but I’m just going to go ahead and get it out there. Women are not as tough, strong, or physically gifted as men are. I know a lot of people out there might have a problem with a statement like that, but it’s true. For the most part, women are just more fragile creatures than men. Most male guys just have a toughness about them, that you aren’t going to find in most female ladies. There are exceptions and I”m sure a few ladies reading my blog post now could kick my butt good. Well maybe not a few, but perhaps one?

Anyway, I just needed to make that statement, so I could come here and talk about my real point. I just had to make that “men are stronger and tougher than women” statement, so I could focus on the self-defense products; which are made for women mostly, but men use them too. Even our tax dollars will buy self-defense products for our gun-toting policemen; that’s out there to serve and protect us. However, please give me your opinion on this, because I just don’t see it happening. Can a woman really use pepper Spray to fend-off an attacker, who in all likelihood is a man, that is much stronger, tougher, and meaner in character? I picture myself attacking an average 5′ 8″ woman, who is about 30 years old, and I can’t imagine a self-defense product like that, could really stop me. Do you guys out there get where I am coming from? I feel like this product would be useless for a woman, if it was a 6 foot tall, 180 pound male, who was assaulting or making the attack.

Now obviously for products like this, which sell all over the World and is a big time seller for security companies, it must be halfway working, right? If it wasn’t working, the product would be tough to find. I just have a hard time trying to figure out, how weak women can save their self from the numerous strong men out there living, breathing, and walking the streets in our society today.

If I had a wife or girlfriend and it was up to me, to select a self-defense product for her. I would go with something I believe would really work and choose something I would be scared of (if I was the attacker). Those self-defense products like the tasers and stun guns; which shoots high volts of electricity against an attacker, is certainly something I would fear. The security product I like the most, is the high voltage stun baton. It is a little over 21 inches when fully extended and around 13 inches, when its collapsed and not in use. Just having a 21 inch, stick-like figure, gives a woman or anyone else a chance to swing something. This bad boy’s real defensive mechanism is the 800,000 volts, that is only a trigger pull away. If an attacker tried to grab this self-defense weapon from you, they would instantly be shocked. This would definately be my choice and I think others would also like a security product, that goes in the direction of electrical power.

For awhile there, it seemed as if the NFL or National Football League was going to go to more 3D football games. I haven’t heard anything for the 2010 NFL season. I was wondering if any of the TV stations were planning to show any 3D football games this year. If you have heard of any news recently about the NFL and using 3-D technology, please let me know. I would like to see more NFL football games in 3D and I’m sure other NFL fans would like to see this too. The professional football league didn’t practice and play around with this technology last year. I just haven’t heard about anything new that was on the horizon for us NFL fans. I would give my vote and support to more NFL games using this expensive 3D technology. I don’t ever go to the games in person anyways, so it’s not going to cost me anything extra at the ticket gates. Maybe the NFL would charge fans more for ticket prices, if these 3D football games became more common place. I think a few Sunday Night NFL games or a couple of the Monday Night NFL football games would be a good time to breakout the 3-D technology. These are national games and usually get a high viewer rating without this modern 3D appearance. I’m sure a sharp increase would be felt in the TV ratings, if the NFL does decide to have football games in 3D on Monday or Sunday nights.

There are a lot of ways and tricks of the trade, where online users can watch movies on their computer screens. If you don’t have a large computer monitor, you may not really want to watch a movie online or one from your disk tray for playing DVD movies. Some of these ways do allow you to watch free movies on your computer. Some are legal and some are probably not legal. I know some users at YouTube will take movies and show them in 10 minute segments, so others can watch a full-length movie. This isn’t really legal and can be a little aggravating having to click on a new video, so you can watch another 10 minute clip.

Burning movies to a blank DVD is one of the most popular ways people like to watch movies from their computer screens. My computer uses the format DVD-R for playing movies back on it, with the help from one of those DVD duplicators. You probably seen the minus “-” or plus “+” format for blank DVD’s or CD’s before. Some CD, DVD, or other video equipment burners will record and play both formats, but you should check first, before you start recording a bunch of movies or downloading a lot of music online. If the format doesn’t match up, you won’t be able to play it back and listen to your music or watch a movie. Best advice would probably be, to carefully look over the DVD duplication guide, to insure you’re doing it right.

Do you download music online? Or do you prefer watching the movies like me? I like to do both, but I guess I am a bigger movie fan than music fan. I have burned a lot of travel CD’s for those long road trips, where you want to hear one good song after another. It’s a lot of fun to take a blank CD and record or burn all your favorite songs to it. If your trip is with friends, make sure to tell them to make a travel CD too, so your trip can have a lot of good music. Tell them to use CD printers and record their favorite songs or pick out songs you think the other friend would get a kick out of. I like watching my friends reactions, when they hear a funny song or an old song that hasn’t been played on the radio in a long time. Just be sure to relay those format codes and advice, so no one gets frustrated making a travel CD or recording a DVD movie. A few months ago I decided I needed to know more about what was going on in the world. I wasn’t keeping up with what everyone was talking about at my college campus so I decided to get a little bit more news in my life. I tried reading the newspaper but I always ended up falling asleep in the morning. It was then that I decided to watch a news network on my satellite television that I got from tvbydirect.com.

I went through all the different networks from CNN to MSNBC. I never seemed to find a fit that was right for me. Then I stumbled onto Fox News and I believe I have found my home.

Glenn Beck is my favorite newscaster, and he is one of the most popular on Fox News. He is one of the only talk show hosts who actually seems to care about what he is reporting. He wants America and the world to succeed and he believes we have it in our power to do it. That is why I like him. Most news programs are just boring presentation of facts and who won American Idol last night. Glenn Beck uses diagrams and facts to prove his points and is a very passionate man.

I’m really glad I decided to start watching the news. It has helped me so much in my classes and in random conversations.

While some may complain about cell phones and texting causing accidents on the highway, there are other phone accidents, where the phone is the only one who gets hurt. Hopefully consumers will be aware of their iphone warranty; when these times do creep up on us. I know some people who can’t make it through their first year with a new phone. It is common for people to drop their phones, but the people I know are the ones who drop it and several different phone parts going flying outwards. They seem to have a knack for putting it back together, but phones can only take so much. I hope future developers will make a stronger phone, so it can endure some of these dropped calls and I do mean this literally, when talking about a “dropped call“. Maybe this will cause less phone users, to have to use their phone warranties fewer times.

One cost-effective way to ride the beautiful waves in the ocean is to own a sailboat and have the sails set. I’m not sure what sail boats do when they have little to no winds blowing. I guess some sailboats are equipped for situations like these. They may include an engine or some other force on board; which allows them to continue on their way; while they navigate the high seas.

These sailboats do save a lot of money on gas. They are wind-powered, so it doesn’t take fuel to keep them moving on the high seas. I would like to go on a sailboat someday, but I have very few boating skills; not to mention no sailing skills for this want-to-be sailor.

Do you own a sailboat? Perhaps you have ridden on a sail boat and would like to share your experiences from these beautiful ships. I know I would not want to get too far away from the shoreline, in case I did need to swim for the closest sandy beach. I do like to watch several of these sailboats gliding across the water; when the wind is just right. Most operators can change their sail’s directions if too much wind is blowing. I just wonder what happens when there is no wind around to be found.
