A few months ago I decided I needed to know more about what was going on in the world. I wasn’t keeping up with what everyone was talking about at my college campus so I decided to get a little bit more news in my life. I tried reading the newspaper but I always ended up falling asleep in the morning. It was then that I decided to watch a news network on my satellite television that I got from tvbydirect.com.

I went through all the different networks from CNN to MSNBC. I never seemed to find a fit that was right for me. Then I stumbled onto Fox News and I believe I have found my home.

Glenn Beck is my favorite newscaster, and he is one of the most popular on Fox News. He is one of the only talk show hosts who actually seems to care about what he is reporting. He wants America and the world to succeed and he believes we have it in our power to do it. That is why I like him. Most news programs are just boring presentation of facts and who won American Idol last night. Glenn Beck uses diagrams and facts to prove his points and is a very passionate man.

I’m really glad I decided to start watching the news. It has helped me so much in my classes and in random conversations.

While some may complain about cell phones and texting causing accidents on the highway, there are other phone accidents, where the phone is the only one who gets hurt. Hopefully consumers will be aware of their iphone warranty; when these times do creep up on us. I know some people who can’t make it through their first year with a new phone. It is common for people to drop their phones, but the people I know are the ones who drop it and several different phone parts going flying outwards. They seem to have a knack for putting it back together, but phones can only take so much. I hope future developers will make a stronger phone, so it can endure some of these dropped calls and I do mean this literally, when talking about a “dropped call“. Maybe this will cause less phone users, to have to use their phone warranties fewer times.

One cost-effective way to ride the beautiful waves in the ocean is to own a sailboat and have the sails set. I’m not sure what sail boats do when they have little to no winds blowing. I guess some sailboats are equipped for situations like these. They may include an engine or some other force on board; which allows them to continue on their way; while they navigate the high seas.

These sailboats do save a lot of money on gas. They are wind-powered, so it doesn’t take fuel to keep them moving on the high seas. I would like to go on a sailboat someday, but I have very few boating skills; not to mention no sailing skills for this want-to-be sailor.

Do you own a sailboat? Perhaps you have ridden on a sail boat and would like to share your experiences from these beautiful ships. I know I would not want to get too far away from the shoreline, in case I did need to swim for the closest sandy beach. I do like to watch several of these sailboats gliding across the water; when the wind is just right. Most operators can change their sail’s directions if too much wind is blowing. I just wonder what happens when there is no wind around to be found.

I have been using Blue Host web services for several years now. I have been pleased with their services and the few times I have needed to call on support, they were there fast to help. The generation of young folks today, who search online for music downloads, may not remember the Walkmans we use to have. The Sony Walkman was a radio/cassette player music lovers could take with them anywhere they went. They have been replaced by technology. Now the ipods are the musical devices of choice and they are much easier to use than the older generation of Walkmans. These new music gadgets allow listeners to bring a whole library of songs with them to where ever they choose to go. We often see professional athletes arriving at a major airport or unloading one by one from a team bus and just about each player on the team, will be sporting a Ipod listening device from their ear. They have to bring their music with them, just like the teen generation does today. I would like to conduct a survey and see how many teenagers know what a Walkman is? I’m willing to guess half of them could not explain what one is and it’s another sign of the technology that continues to improve our daily lives.

The printers of today are not only better, but tech junkies are paying a much lower price for them too. For instance, take a look at the printer in the picture above. What would you expect a printer like this to cost? It is a Hewlett Packard Printer, who are known for producing great printers. Just by looking at the picture, I could easily see this HP All-In-One Inkjet Printer selling for $1,000 or more. Perhaps some computer stores or tech-related websites would put a price tag like that on it. If you hurry, you could buy this HP Officejet Pro online at Buy.com for less than $200! The shipping and handling is totally free and even if they did charge $20 to ship it to you; it would still be under $200 for this awesome looking all-in-one printer.

When you see a tech sale like this going on, it does make us realize how far technology has came and how things are so much cheaper today. Ten years ago, I don’t even think you could get a color printer, scanner, fax machine, and all of the other functions this HP Printer can do as a single unit. The invasion has begun and its been that way for awhile now. It’s the Asian carp and it has a big appetite. This fish can eat up to 40% of its body wait daily. These Asian carp can get to be over 4 feet long and well over 100 pounds. Many of the scientists and fishermen believe this breed of fish, which is not native to America, could cause a lot of damage in our rivers and lakes. It could easily eat up all of the food resources in the water and starve out some of the other fresh water fish that is native to North America.

This breed of carp from Asia is already present in the Mississippi River and strong measures are being taken to keep it out of the other tributaries feeding the Mighty Mississippi. The best defense in place right now is electricity. Under water walls or barriers have been put in place, so they discharge volts of electricity when the carp gets near by. These barriers are not 100% effective, but scientists hope it will cause the Asian carp to change swimming directions in most of the places, where these barriers are present.

Many are calling on higher members in the political party to help. Even going all the way to the President and asking for help from Barrack Obama. These Asian carp do pose a great danger to the fishing industry in the American fresh waters. If these carp are allowed to grow and populate in the American waterways, we could see a sharp decrease in other fish like bass. The small mouth or large mouth bass is huge for fishermen and they know it could all come to an end one day, if the Asian carp is allowed to grow and reproduce in America. If you happen to catch one of these Asian carp in the places you fish, you should kill the fish immediately. Also, report where you caught the fish to local authorities, so they can take steps to help destroy other Asian carp that may be in the area. I believe fishermen will play a big role in the prevention plan to keep these fish out of our fresh waters in the United States. It would be wise if someone would start holding fishing tournaments and reward fishermen for catching these Asian carp. A tournament for Asian carp could help control the population, if the tournament host would destroy each and every Asian carp a fishermen caught in the Asian carp tournament.

More than likely we are already fighting a losing battle to this fish. If we could just find numerous ways to slow down the growth, we could help to delay this fish from taking over in the waters our other native fish live and eat in each day. For anyone that loves to fish in America, you will want to know that the Asian carp is enemy number 1 to all of us that enjoy fishing. If you hope to take your son fishing on a beautiful Sunday afternoon one day, you need to do your part and destroy all of the Asian carp you come in contact with. The fishing life as we know it now, is in danger and more measures need to be taken to keep this Asian carp from the lakes and rivers we like to fish in.

If you want to do some recording on the DVD player, you must first know what to buy for your specific DVD player. These blank CD’s or discs are specially formatted to fit different types of DVD players. I’m not sure if there is a more common format to record on or not. Make sure you see where the plus symbol appears on the package, so you will be able to recognize the blank discs you’re buying for your DVD player. The Maxell DVD -R in the blue pack are the ones that have the minus symbol on them and they will only work in DVD players that record in that format.

It’s great to record things on DVD players. These recordings last much longer than the old-style of VCR recordings on the VHS tapes. New Alan Wake Game

The bar has just been raised to a new high in video game technology. This new game that will be available on the Xbox 360, promises to offer graphics we have never seen in a video game before. From the creators of the popular video game Max Payne, is the same folks that is bringing the new Alan Wake video game home to game players from all over the world. Video gaming will never be the same, once players get a chance to help Alan Wake in his adventures.

The story-line of Alan Wake takes place in a Washington town that goes by the name Bright Falls. Players will start off with having to help Alan Wake deal with his grief from losing his fiancee and help escape the nightmare he is currently living in. This will be an action packed game and one that isn’t probably suitbable for the real small children. The teens and older generation of video game players will be eager to try their hand at playing Alan Wake. If you got an XBox 360; then you’re half way there. All you need to do now is pre-order the game online or wait for it to appear in stores this summer. There is already a tremendous buzz around this new video game and I expect it to be a hot seller in 2010. A whole new world of video games are about to be unleashed on us. Alan Wake is only the beginning to the new and exciting video games we can expect to start seeing in the video game world.

I can remember the days when finding information on a topic required a day’s trip to the local library. One particular time I had to write a paper in high school about wood furniture. This was a topic that I knew absolutely nothing about. I spent three long days at the library trying to find all of the information that I needed in order to write one essay and still wound up getting a B.

These days I could have had the info that I needed for that paper in a matter of minutes. All I would have to do is put in a few keywords and pull up a whole slew of helpful information. Thankfully, this is a possibility because we have the internet. I have three children who are all in high school. I do not even want to think about how much time we would have to spend at the local library if we did not have wild blue internet internet service in our home. Television technology is really growing fast and one big reason why; is the fact so many of us use TV’s in our daily lives. We understand the TV and we can identify with the new technology that gets placed into them. We see the change or hear the change and this makes sense to the majority of us. Telling someone their motel room has a WiFi hook-up, isn’t going to be appreciated as much. We see that HD or high definition quality and we know they put it there so we could see a better picture in our living rooms. At the front desk of the motel, where the employee is letting us know we got a connector for a WiFi, we know good and well this isn’t going to help us any. We also wonder how much cheaper our room would be, if this motel wouldn’t have bought WiFi for every room of the motel.

One of the more common technologies for TV is the 3D abilities. The 3-D movie industry dates way back and it probably goes back at least 60 years. Over the last 5 or 6 decades, different people and companies have played around with it, but no one ever figured out a way to make it mainstream. That’s all changed now and our television sets are about to get a new 3D upgrade. Maybe at first, you will have a choice for 3D TV or not. Just like when high definition came out. However, as time went by, it got tougher and tougher to find a television; which did not have the HD capabilities. We may see the new 3D televisions mock that same pattern. No one is ever forced by the television industry to buy a new TV. They just tell you the one you own now isn’t going to work in the near future. This was the case, when we saw our analog signal televisions turn into a digital signal TV set. Not sure who is responsible or keeping the TV folks in-line, but they have been allowed to make some bold moves with the way they forced everyone to pay for watching a television.

Is it really possible or true that our future filming industry will need TV’s that have 3D capabilities, so we can watch TV? I know a lot of people that have invested big money into a modern HDTV and if they learn it will be junk in 5 years, I think they will be a little upset. One more change in TV that forces people to get a brand new TV; will probably hurt the companies producing the large screen television sets. If you’re in the market for a new TV now, I don’t think the 50 incher is a good idea. You may want to try 30 to 32 inches and see what changes in TV will be a choice for us and which changes will be forced on every TV viewer in the country. The exciting TV technology that use to excite all of us, has been replaced by fears. I do wonder how much more powerful the TV industry can get and is there anyone who could stop them?

I’m not too sure or clear about the Blu-ray DVD players and the technology that comes with them. I don’t own a Blu-ray player yet, but I have a feeling I will be getting one in the near future. Do you own a Blu-ray player or movie now? Perhaps you can shed some light on this tech-gadget for movies and video games.

Once I order one of these Blu-ray gadgets; what’s the next step I should do? Do I go buy or rent Blu-ray movies, because the regular DVD movies won’t play on this DVD player? Or can people still play their old DVD movies on something like a new Panasonic Blu-ray DVD Player? Any help would be great, because I’m a little sketchy on the information I have been able to find online for the Blu-ray movie players. It looks like most of these Blu-rays go for about $150 to $250. What’s the advantages to buying the more expensive ones or the disadvantages to buying a cheap Blu-ray DVD player? I know this would help other online shoppers that are looking for a sale on a Blu-ray.

PlayStation 3

Another benefit to owning a Blu-ray player is that it works with a Sony Playstation 3 console. Do consumers need to buy a Sony Blu-ray player for it be compatible? Or does all Blu-ray players work with the PS3? I don’t have the PS3 system either, but if I get the Blu-ray player, I might just go ahead and get the most I can from this exciting new technology. It would seem the Panasonic Blu-rays would work or any other companies that produce and sell Blu-ray systems.

From what I have been able to learn about Blu-ray players, is that the discs can hold a lot more information than our older discs can. This extra storage space is needed, since we now have a lot of high definition or HD movies coming out. Maybe the DVD players we own now, can’t play these movies that are in HD. In some cases, they may be able to play them, but the TV viewer wouldn’t be the gettng the crispness and sharpness that comes with HD technology. For people that want the true experience of HD technolgy, they must have a TV with HD capabilities first. A converter box would be needed to watch HD programming from your cable or satellite provider. If you have a DVD that is in high definition and you want to watch it properly on your HD TV; then it would take a Blu-ray DVD player to give you this experience. People seeking to take advantage of HD quality movies and to get the most out of their Playstation3 games, they will want to buy a DVD player that has Blu-ray technology.
