BP Oil Spill Affecting Gulf Birds

Some of the first pictures are starting to come in from the Gulf and its not a pretty sight. The BP Oil Spill is causing major damage in the Gulf of Mexico. There is already millions and millions of dollars that have went down the drain with this oil spill. The stock prices of BP shares have went down significantly. It’s going to be very hard for the company to stay in business, if the British Petroleum company or BP doesn’t fix this oil leak soon.

It still doesn’t seem like BP understands how big this problem really is. We are already 45 days into this oil disaster in the Gulf that started with a raging fire. The British group didn’t seem to be in any big hurries; when the oil leak was first discovered. Now the first casualties of this nightmare are starting to be seen and its the animals paying the price now.

Let’s hope a lot of lessons get learned here. Maybe future steps will take place, to insure this type of oil disaster doesn’t happen again. The BP Oil Spill is going to affect the beaches of Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, and Florida in the coming weeks. Texas and the Atlantic Coast States, all the way up to Maine, will more than likely see some oil on their beaches too. This oil spill is massive and will affect the lives of millions and millions of fish and birds; which depend on the warm waters of the Gulf.

Was our 16th President of the United States of America really a vampire hunter? Well this book’s title caught my attention; when I saw Abraham Lincoln Vampire Hunter. It turns out, there is a little truth behind the title’s name. It appears Abe was devastated at 9 years of age; when his mother suddenly passed away. His father blamed some bill collectors on her death and referred to them as vampires. At least this is the impression I am getting about this book. From that day on, Mr. Lincoln promised to do everything in his power to track down and hunt these types of vampires. It was this dedication in life that probably led to Abraham Lincoln becoming our country’s 16th president.

It turns out a valuable piece of paper work was discovered about Abraham Lincoln. No one had laid eyes on these writings in the last 140 years or longer. These writings led to some valuable information about Abe as a child and some of the stories about the Civil War that have never been told before. I find these new-found writings very interesting and wonder if they have ever been published for the public to read.

I know the title is very catchy and lots of people will want to investigate further like I did. Once I looked into the story more, I saw even more interest to read this book. It’s not a fictional book and is suppose to be a fact-based reading. It was Seth Grahame-Smith that found The Abraham Lincoln Journal and wrote this Lincoln Vampire Book.

Bill Clinton Rescues Reporters in North Korea

You can say what you want to about Bill Clinton, but I think the man has redeemed his horrible political ratings. I’m not sure what Time Magazine has in store for their “Man of the Year” award for 2009; but let me be the first one to say Bill Clinton is the man of the year! His bravery deserves top honors as he brings home two American citizens from the grips of a hostile North Korean nation.

Laura Ling is the young lady on the left (green shirt) and Euna Lee (red shirt) was the other American journalist that has been held against their will for the last 5 months. It was outrageous that these two women, being American citizens, would be held hostage for bogus crimes they didn’t commit. I wished more could have been done sooner to free these ladies and take away all the stresses their families have had to endure over these past few months they had to wait for justice. The wait is over and they are finally coming back home!

FREE AT LAST!

I feel proud as an American today that we didn’t forget about these 2 reporters. Euna Lee and Laura Ling did nothing wrong and they were just trying to do their jobs. A nation like North Korea that has lost touch with the rest of the world; took away the freedom these ladies have by being citizens of the United States of America. I hope this story gives hope to other Americans that might get in trouble while overseas or in another country. The U.S. is a very powerful nation and that power is no good unless we use it every now and then.

For some reason the White House is trying to take credit and they are speaking publicly about negotiations that went on behind close doors. Why they are trying to take credit for this joyful occasion I have no idea. I am not a Rupublican or a Democrat, just an ordinary American citizen like Laura Ling and Euna Lee are. Our government isn’t to credit for this bravery we have witnessed on Wednesday in Asia. It was Bill Clinton that got on the plane and met with the officials in North Korea and worked out an agreement to bring back our hostages. If the White House wants to try and take credit for this courageous rescue; then Barack Obama should have been on that plane. Obama has already taken one vacation to Hawaii and most recently at Camp David. We have seen Obama throwing out pitches at All Star Baseball games and sitting on Air Force One with Willie Mays talking about baseball. Obama is spending our tax payer’s money on ads that certain Republicans that have made comments against him and his health care bill he is trying to get passed. Barack Obama is not in touch with the economy and is showing very little concern as America is fast approaching the gutters of an economical crisis. It’s not all Obama’s fault and other politicians are to blame too, but I don’t like seeing the tax payer’s money on those negative commercials. Who cares about Barack Obama anyways; when we have an ex-president like Bill Clinton mopping up the White House mistakes.

Bill Clinton: Man of the Year?

I’m sure most Republicans would agree that Bill Clinton deserves the Man of the Year award for simply being married to Hillary Clinton. I might just agree with them there, but who else has done more than Bill Clinton did on August 5th? The man risked his own life and security to free 2 American journalists. Only 2 was being held hostage and we didn’t have dozens being held against their will or no children was involved. Does the United States wait another 5 months if Bill Clinton was taken prisoner by this hostile nation? I think we would have seen a more immediate action if that would have played out on Wednesday, but luckily Bill, Laura, and Euna are sipping a cold, wet beverage on a plane that is bound for the U.S.A.. This whole episode played out way too long and we should be angry that this problem wasn’t resolved sooner.

I am glad that it is over now and Bill Clinton rescued the hostages in North Korea. I hope these ladies weren’t harmed in no way and the North Korean officials took good care of them. Bill Clinton does deserve the Man of the Year Award by Time Magazine and anyone else that pays tribute to acts of bravery. I know we will never forget Clinton’s past, but he does deserve all the credit for facing evil eye to eye today and taking a stand for American Justice! Thank you very much William Jefferson Clinton and welcome home Euna Lee and Laura Ling!

It seems we may have a new judge in place for next season when American Idol starts up their 10th season. According to Paula Abdul’s new manager, the Idol Judge is not happy that the people running American Idol haven’t given her a new contract yet. Oh really? I find this story absurd and how many jobs in America can you get caught being drunk and still have a job? I think Paula Abdul should be happy that she has got to work as long as she has to this point. I believe she has been drunk or high in many of the American Idol episodes and this isn’t good for the younger viewers.

There is a huge following of the show that is made up of teens and its really not a good idea to have someone drunk constantly on the TV. I believe American Idol would be wise to get her alcohol problems under control first; before they make her a new offer to return. There isn’t too many employers out there that would even give you a 2nd chance Paula; so you have been very lucky to this point. I’m sure since your new manager has only been on the job for a couple of weeks now; that you gave full consent for him to release this bit of news to the Press and anyone else that you’re looking for to feel sorry for you. It’s time to grow up and take responsibility for your actions. Keep your clothing line and costume jewelry going and start working behind the camera instead of in front of it. We don’t need to set a bad example to our youth or a show that carries the title “American” behaving in a drunken fashion. I’m not sure what the extent may be with your drug and alcohol habits; but I am sure it’s not ready for prime time in America.

I don’t think the show can replace Paula and she has been great for American Idol. Many fans of the show love her and she has a nice way of letting people know they suck; when they couldn’t sing their way out of a wet paper sack. However, it is clear in my eyes that you have done many shows while being intoxicated and this has to stop. Perhaps you could do a season for charity and donate your season’s wages to a place that deals with drug and alcohol abuse. This might be the only way to save your name and your job as an American Idol judge.

The politics and voting is not quite the same in Iran as it is in the United States, but they do appear to be trying to have a democratic election. The voting is currently taking place in Iran and its hard to say who is winning right now. It seems both parties are claiming victory to the next person that will be the head of Iran. It seems a lot of controversy is already taking place over there and who knows how legitimate the results will be.

The current leader Mahmoud Ahmadinejad seems to be in the lead by a big margin and some say that lead is with 80 percent of the votes counted. It doesn’t seem like the present day leader of Iran would be voted in for another term, since so many in Iran are unhappy with his performance. He has not did a good job for Iran and there does need to be a new leader in Iran. Perhaps a new leader would help Iran become a better nation to its neighbors and on better terms with the United States. I would like to travel to Iran someday and it just doesn’t seem like this is too possible with the current situation in Iran right now. It would be nice to open up their society more and people could start visiting Iran more that had desires of seeing this Middle Eastern nation.

I guess we will just have to wait and see how the election goes and which man will be the new leader in Iran. There does need to be a new leader there and let’s hope the votes are counted properly and the people of Iran do get the person that had the majority of votes as their new leader. I’m sure this story is long from being over and we may be hearing about the elections in Iran for months to come.

These aren’t the headlines yet, but they should be. I am furious to learn about two American reporters and the faith they have suffered in North Korea. In case you haven’t heard about these two women reporters from the U.S., I can give you an update on the story. The officials in North Korea have arrested two women that were just trying to do their job as journalists in Korea. They were in the northern section of Korea and not working the southern side with our friends from South Korea. They were arrested on fake charges and were only held against their will, because the officials in North Korea want to use them as pawns in a political game with the United States. Tensions are high between the USA and North Korea and most of this comes from the latest missile tests the North Koreans have been conducting. They now think the best way to negotiate with the U.S. is by holding two American citizens hostage in their country and the U.S. will lower their hand toward the hostile nation of North Korea.

The people in charge in North Korea need to learn that the negotiating is between them and the U.S. Government. You need and must work with them on their differences between the two nations. I don’t care if my government sees your country as a hostile nation or a friendly nation and whatever help and aid they want to offer your country is fine with me. When you start taking American citizens and holding them against their will for no good reasons and two fine ladies like Euna Lee and Laura Ling (that are American citizens) then you have the citizens of this country in an outrage and this is not good for your nation at all.

You may see the headlines reading that the U.S. is working through all possible channels for the release of Lee and Ling; but I can assure you this is not the truth. You have now taken an action of war toward the United States of America with the latest ruling today. The North Korean officials have sentenced two American citizens to 12 years of labor for crimes they have not committed. I will not stand for this and the other 300 million Americans living in this country won’t either. They are no channels that aren’t going to be tried for the release of these two American citizens. You have forced our hand as a nation to declare war on your nation for taking hostages. As of today you are holding two prisoners of war and they must be released immediately! Releasing these two women and assuring their safe return to China or South Korea is your only option now and you must act swiftly. Our military is gearing up to strike your nation and now I agree with my government that you’re indeed a hostile nation. Your actions today will not be accepted and we don’t care what other countries think and we will act alone if necessary. Your best move now is to release these two women and try other ways to gain aid for your country.

The U.S. can only see this as an act of war and your missile testing as of late confirms your intentions and the state of your current government. We can not wait for you to take more innocent prisoners or to launch one of these missiles on a friendly nearby nation. I demand that my country give you 100 hours from today to release Euna Lee and Laura Ling or we invade your country and hunt down Kim Jon il. The same faith that Saddam Hussein faced is what Kim Jong il is on a heading for and his time is up. The release must and will take place now or the nation of North Korea will no longer exist as a nation as we see it today. The citizens of North Korea do need to flee to China and South Korea now and escape the bombs from the sky that will be falling on North Korea. I would also urge the citizens of North Korea to take a stand against their leaders and understand that two innocent women are being held against their will in their country right now. I think 100 hours is the deadline and the U.S. has no choice but to wipe the nation off the map and make sure the leaders of this so called nation can never hurt anyone again.

I’m a U.S. citizen standing up for my fellow citizens and you can have hostile intentions to my government and it doesn’t concern me. When you take actions against my fellow citizens; then I will take actions against your nation. The U.S. citizens are declaring war on North Korea now and it’s only a matter of time until the pressures reach our government officials and they see war or military action is our only option to a nation that has no eyes or heart for justice. Release the two American journalists now and save what is left of your nation and the innocent citizens that live inside the borders of your country now. Everyone living in North Korea now does need to leave and this is the time to stand up against your government officials because the Untied States of America does have your back!

You have to love the world of politics and all the things that go on around it. It seems politicians never amaze us anymore and the unexpected is always expected. I’m not big on politics and prefer to stay out of any political arenas, but the Mayor of a Texas town made a shocking statement recently. J.W. Lown has just been re-elected as the Mayor of San Angelo, Texas and this was going to be his 4th term in office. After being voted in by the people of San Angelo; Mr. Lown decided that he didn’t want to be running the show anymore and his reason why was shocking. Apparently he is in love with another man and this man is an illegal alien living in Texas. I guess the Mayor of many years for San Angelo, Texas decided his love for this illegal Mexican man was more important than serving the good people of San Angelo.

You just never know what politicians are going to do these days and it must be tough for the people living in San Angelo. I’m sure this has brought unwanted attention to their small city in Texas, but rest assure we know that your ex-mayor does not represent your town or the beliefs you have. I’m not sure what legal charges J.W. Lown could be facing from this, but he probably knew his love affair would cost him his job. I guess he felt it was better to step down than to get fired in this situation. I think the world will always have stupid people and politicians and in some cases the two aren’t very much different from each other.

Is the White House Helping the Economy?

Barack Obama has had a lot on his plate lately. The fears of swine flu and the conflicts going on in Afghanistan and Iraq is enough to keep any President and his staff busy. We also seen a spike in oil prices lately and there is energy concerns facing our nation right now. Former President Jimmy Carter even made a trip to Washington, D.C. to point out his energy concerns for our country. Mr. Carter went on to say that it’s the number 1 problem in our country right now and that all eyes should be focused on the energy crisis we may be in store for soon. None of these problems can get fix if we collapse from an economical standpoint and this is something the White House will have to solve soon.

Typically it can take 6 months for new jobs to start appearing after a recession has ocurred. I don’t think many families can wait that long and perhaps a stimulus check for the summer would help most American households. These checks should go out in late June and the month of July, so families can take advantage of it before school starts back for the kids. I believe releasing these checks this summer will be a big help and each household in America should get $500. This will be enough to buy us some time, as we wait for new jobs to start appearing in the final months of 2009. The White House has the power to aid in the financial crisis and let’s hope they act now before families start losing their homes.

It seems our new president has a little spunk to him. He gave an evil stare to one reporter today and followed it up with some pretty stern words. I can’t recall any president in the past that has took this approach with a reporter before. President Obama is certainly carving out his own niche in the White House. I’m not sure if this is a good thing or bad thing right now. I do think we need a president that will help this struggling economy as much as possible and that is where their focus needs to be right now.
