Vented Gas Logs or Ventless Gas Logs?

If you are not sure about the difference when it comes to Ventless Gas Logs or Vented Gas Logs; then don’t feel bad. I was a little lost too, in knowing the differences. I really wasn’t sure which one I should select, if we decide to replace our existing gas logs we have now. I wasn’t even aware of which type of fake logs my family had in our home now. There will come a time for every homeowner to redo certain rooms in their house. The most common rooms we like to do full-makeovers on, is our kitchen and bathrooms. The living room and bedrooms are the two most common areas we will rearrange furniture in. It’s not like the toilet and stove are easy things to move in our households. This way the 2nd bathroom makeover can benefit from all the mistakes and things you learned on the first makeover.

Be sure to look around online for tips and advice for both rooms, so you will know all of the choices you have to make. New things come out for the bathroom and kitchen everyday. One of the easiest ways to apply Feng Shui in the home, is by the use of careful lighting. Red light in a room brings fame, pink lights in the bedroom increase romance in your life. Soft lamp shades (e.g. made from paper and cloth) make the light softer and create a quiet atmosphere. Lamps with Metal light shades create an active atmosphere. Where cooking or reading is done, make sure that there are no shadows, no shadow must ever fall on food that is being prepared or on material that is being read.

There is an enormous amount of information about Feng Shui and lighting on the internet. I am not sure how true all of it is, but I enjoy experimenting with some of the ideas and feel that it is true that since we have replaced the light bulbs in our house with pink bulbs, there has been a more relaxed atmosphere. Apparently restaurants and hospitals often use pink light bulbs, which although they do not obviously throw out pink light, cause a decrease in stress and also make the color of our skins look better.

Next thing for us is to try purple light shades in the office, to see if it will increase our wealth.

One of the worse sounds in the World is our alarm clocks. No matter what sound it makes, it is one we don’t like to hear in the early morning hours. I enjoy my sleep each night and rarely get enough of it. I am not a big fan of the noise that comes from my alarm clock in the morning.

They do offer some softer sounding alarm clocks and ones that try to wake you up more pleasantly in the morning. I haven’t never tried to use one of these modern alarm clocks, but do wish I could sample one out. There comes a day in every man’s life where he needs more space. After living in the same house for a lot of years, the room to store more things is just not there. Getting married and having kids might play a part in why some men don’t have the space at home they once did. 3rd Best Indoor Pool – Circular Cave Pool – There really isn’t a cave here, but if you see how the high ceilings go up on the far side of the room, it makes going to the other side like a cave. We are actually viewing the pool from the cave, as we are looking at this spectacular display of H2O (water). If you think this is the best indoor swimming pool on my list, I won’t argue with you. It’s just an amazing all-around swimming pool and I would love to be the owner of this one. So many great things I could say about this terrific pool, that is in the shape of a circle. I know the outside of the pool is what makes it so fantastic, but I love the simple pool design and the wide steps for entry and exit. 2 thumbs up!!

Home security is a multi-billion dollar business these days and for good reason. Our home and the things inside our homes are the most valuable things we own in life. Making sure they are secure is a top priority for most home owners. If it isn’t high on your list now, you should really change your way of thinking, before it is too late. Home security systems are a lot more advanced than they use to be. A lot of families go this route; when it comes to protecting their home. You and your family may not quiet have the budget right now to afford a home security system or any high tech security gadgets to install in and around your house. Enjoying Our Fresh Water

Our precious supplies of fresh water could all disappear one day. It would be a scary situation, if Man didn’t have any more fresh water to drink or use for cooking. It probably wouldn’t be too noticeable, because we probably wouldn’t even be around to see a world with no fresh water. The World supply of fresh water is constantly in danger and we have to always be thinking about better ways to Save Water. Our world is changing and most of it is due to global warming or climate change. All nations will have to start somewhere, if we hope to change the deadly course we are on now. I believe starting with our supplies of fresh water is a good starting point.

We don’t have to solve this problem tomorrow. We just need to begin taking steps today, so we can insure there is a tomorrow. Something as simple as saving a few gallons a week with your toilet bowl can make a big difference; when every family starts taking action. The dual flush toilet is a much more cost-effective way of saving families gallons and gallons on their monthly water bills. Reducing the cost on the water bill is helping to insure our supplies of fresh water stay strong in our communities, states, countries, and the one planet we all live on. Currently we are wasting a lot of water from our toilet systems and this is an area we can improve on right now. The technology has already been created for us to save water, each time we have to flush the toilets at home. It’s just up to each family to insure their household isn’t wasting any water with their current toilet bowl situations. The bottom line for all of us, is we do need fresh water to drink and cook our meals with each day. We may have to start using other water sources on Earth for these chores. If our water levels ever go too low, we would have to make adjustments, so we could continue to have fresh water for drinking. These changes don’t have to be drastic, if we all begin making the small changes now. Going to the hardware store this weekend to pick up a low flow toilet, is just one of the things you can start doing to help. It only takes one drought in a certain area of the World; to prove just how miserable a world without fresh, clean water is and these folks won’t take it for granted anytime soon.

Most of the homes in my state are relatively new. Maybe you have heard of a guy from the Civil War by the name of Sherman? He got happy with the matches and set off a few fires, so we don’t have a lot of those colonial-looking homes, like they do in the southern part of the state or along the coast near Savannah, GA. I really like some of those older-style homes and how they will have these victorian pedestal mailboxes out in their tiny, but level front yards.

Some friends of mine and I were down in the Savannah, Georgia area not long ago. We were all picking out which big house we would like to live in the most. I had trouble finding the perfect Savannah home, but I do remember the one I picked had one of these green victorian mailboxes in their yard and for some reason that mail box stuck out in my mind. I pictured myself going to check the mail and how it was such a short walk from the front door to the mailbox. My home now has a real steep driveway and it’s not an easy chore going to check the mail at my house. So I think I fell in love with the mailbox and just how close it was to the front door.

There are a lot of other states that also have these large colonial homes; which are 200 or more years old. Many of these homes that have the southern charm and nestled close together, can be found all along the eastern seaboard of the United States. If you currently live in one of these colonial homes or near one; do you have a mailbox nearby your front door? Maybe your mail holder is a victorian wall mailbox and it’s hanging just above the wrap-around porch, that makes a complete circle around your home? Now if you live in South Georgia and you own a big colonial home and have one of these pedestal mail boxes in the Victorian-style and it is green; then you are the lucky ones living in my dream Georgia coastal home! I think that would be pretty freaky, if the real homeowners did come online and read about me liking their house, level yard, and green mail box. It is a small world and I have seen stranger things happen, so I wouldn’t be totally surprised, but it would shock me just a little.

No need to worry anyone and run around screaming “the sky is falling, the sky is falling“. However, we do have to be a little more up-to-date in the 21st century with our weather patterns and our climate change issues. It was just 2 years ago; when my capital city of Atlanta, Georgia was on the brink of disaster. You may not have heard about this in your area, but its true! The millions of Georgia residents that call Atlanta home was only 3 months away from running out of water. The two big lakes in our area (Allatoona Lake and Lake Lanier) were running dry and there was no rain in sight. It was a big panic in my state and it set off a big water battle that continues today with our border states of Alabama and Florida. We could not supply these states with water; since our own state was needing the precious supply of our fresh water reserves. This was all due to a major drought and no one in Georgia was practicing any rain harvesting methods. If no rain would have fell for the next 12 weeks, some of the most populous places in Georgia would be left bone dry.

Luckily the rains did eventually come and it began to fill up our streams, rivers, lakes, and other areas that are use to holding water supplies. This drought taught everyone in Georgia just how precious water is to us. The local news outlets in Georgia began to promote something most people in my state was not aware of and this includes me too. The process of catching and retaining rain with the use of rain barrels. These barrels can be placed around the home and help save some of the wet stuff; when we do get a nice summer time shower.

Just about every home has a corner or a place around the home where a lot of rain falls from. You can take a rain water barrel and strategically place them around the home to catch rain. Home owners can use these barrels of rain to help water their gardens, wash their cars, and other things like that. It may not sound like much, but when 1 or 2 homes in each neighborhood practice this rain harvesting procedure, it really starts to add up across the board. A garden that gets watered during a long period of rainless days, will continue to grow well and thrive. Keeping a small garden wet and producing, helps to keep that ground moist. When a rain shower does come, that ground around a home garden will not soak up as much of the rain and will be a little extra run-off for our water tributaries to collect. Just this example alone can add gallons and gallons of rain water to our area lakes; if enough people are saving rain in these barrels. Washing your car with rain that has been saved by barrels, also cuts down on the amount of water a community is using up in the hot weather months.

All of these small water-saving methods can help an area endure a drought much longer; if just a few home owners practice this new-age method. It’s easy to see how a small town or even a large city could prevent running out of water, if more people would just try and store the rains from Mother Nature more often. It was just a couple of years ago; when the worse drought ever hit my state. I hope more people will look for these rain barrels for sale and practice some form of rain harvesting. Record heat this summer already has our creeks and rivers running extremely low this year and we could easily be in a drought later this fall. Our climate is changing fast and we must keep up, if we plan to live and thrive like we have for the last 200+ years!

It isn’t always a hard job to spruce up our homes. This summer is the perfect time to think about adding these cool outdoor planters around the house. It’s a simple and cost-effective way to make a home improvement and anyone can do this. If you ever taken a hammer and a few small nails to hang a picture before; then you should have no trouble installing your own planters around the house. You may not even need any nails in some cases.

A outddor planter beside the window makes it easy to keep the plants watered. It also makes it easy to view your flowers or whatever else you decide to grow in your window planters. For those plants that don’t need much sun, the house acts as a great shade, so your plants don’t get too much sun. They’re also protected by the heavy downfalls of rain; which can wipe out the plants growing in the garden. If the weather concerns you too much, you may just want to get an indoor planter for your home.

The next time you have visitors to your house, you will see these planters are the topic of conversation. Your guests will probably want to get a planter for the outside of their home or one of the many different indoor planters that are available to choose from too. A restful night of sleep is always good. If you fail to get a good nightly sleep and have free time in the afternoons, you are one of the lucky few who get to enjoy one of those great summer time naps. Just put a box fan close to the bed and you will have one of the best sleep aids money can buy.

There is two things that make a fan great for sleeping. One of the things a lot of people like is the noise. That constant running of the motor in the box fan, is a soothing noise that help many people to sleep. The thing I like best is the non-stop breeze you have inside your bedroom. I will sleep with the fan during the night and especially during my summer time naps in the long dog days of summer.

Do you currently use a box fan to help you sleep? If you ever get use to having the noise and breeze from a fan for sleeping, you might find it hard to sleep without one. During the cold months of winter, I sometimes have to turn on a fan and aim the air flow away from me. Just so I can hear that noise, which does help people sleep better. That noise is also good for drowning out other noises that might come from another room inside the house or a barking dog that won’t shut up outside.

Regardless if you like a fan for the noise or the breeze, it is an affective sleep aid in my opinion. I now use a fan for each night I go to bed and for every afternoon nap I take. I think the afternoon naps with the fan are the best, but throwing on a lot of covers at night is nice too; while trying to stay warm from the fan and the air conditioner. I know it must be tempting for a lot of kids and young adults to see a street filled with mailboxes along the side of the street. They figure a good baseball bat and driving a car to knock down the neighborhood mailboxes would be fun. Well it can be fun and a lot of laughs, until someone gets hurt. It’s not so fun anymore. Mailboxes are designed for one thing and one thing only and baseball targets are not one of them. There are some mailboxes you know you could knock off the post with a good swing; while other mailboxes you wouldn’t even dare to try.

I believe this home owner is safe from mailbox baseball. They made it very clear to leave their mailbox alone, but some other home owners take a different approach. If you see a few mailboxes that look like easy targets for mailbox baseball, you are probably not the first ones to have seen it. Sometimes these home owners have already been struck by the silly kids of this mailbox bashing game. They have taken hidden measures to make sure their mailbox doesn’t get hit again. Someone at night with a baseball bat, driving down the road may not see these hidden measures and will take a good swing at a mailbox that appears to be defenseless. When in fact, the mailbox doesn’t give and creates a force back toward the person swinging the baseball bat. When the box doesn’t give, it’s the person’s arm or arms that will. People have had their arms broken, severely injured, and even ripped right off their bodies from playing with mail boxes they shouldn’t have. This is one tradition for teens that needs to stop now, so nobody else has to lose an arm or their life to this silly game.

If you played this game as a kid, you should go back as an adult and make up for your actions. Go see if the people are still living in the homes, where you knocked down their mailbox and offer to buy them a new one. Let’s leave the mailbox duties to the U.S. postal workers and let’s keep our arms for something better in life than smashing up other people’s possessions.

Everyone has to battle an enemy that grows bigger, taller, and stronger every year. Especially in the summer time, we see our enemy get it’s strongest source of motivation. It is the all American weed and it grows in our front yard, back yard, and every place else that we don’t want it to. What is your best choice for a weapon against this enemy we know as weeds?

A lot of modern technology has went into the study of chemicals for controlling our weed problems. The chemical companies make millions of dollars each year, for just selling products that kill weeds. I’m not sure which company or person decided that a weed killer would be a source of income for them and that people would buy a product like this. I really don’t even have the time line of when Americans first started to buy products for killing weeds. I’m sure a lot of home remedies were developed first and someone probably got rich from weed killers that way. The person who first thought of it is a rich person today or the person who sought to market this homemade potion is the one who benefited and got rich. Either way, these chemicals can be found on the shelves of every hardware store in the U.S. now and folks are still profiting from the weed killing industry.

The other way to combat this growing evil that lurks in our yards is the old fashion way. By getting out and pulling them up by hand, using a tool to cut them down with, or taking a electric or gas powered weed eater to mow them down. We have a weed eater at our house and it sounds like a power saw; when its running. A weed eater is a good way to trim the side of the house and around our bushes, trees, and other plants we want to keep growing. Taking out the weeds in the physical manner is only a short-term solution to the weed problem. Most of the time, you’re still leaving the roots behind, for the weed to just grow back. It is a lot better, if you can pull the weeds up by hand and pulling their roots out of the soil too, so they can’t easily grow again.

The people who like to save money, probably are still creating the homemade potions to kill their weeds. I guess by now, a lot of home owners have learned which chemicals do the weeds the most harm. Mixing a few chemicals together in the garage is a cheap way to kill them, but can also be a dangerous method too. Mixing any two or more chemicals together can cause a chemical reaction. This could result in an explosion or a deadly gas that could emit from the toxic creation. You also could be killing a lot more things other than the weeds. It is much safer to buy the chemicals in the store and for people to leave the chemistry to the professionals. Keeping our health and eyes safe is worth a few extra dollars at the home improvement store. Saving money on weed killers isn’t too smart. The only way to save money here is to get out in the yard and just pull them up by hand or mow them down with a weed eater. Stay safe out there and make sure you win and the weeds don’t!
