Mesothelioma In the Court Room

I feel bad for anyone who is having to deal with mesothelioma. It is a deadly form of caner and it has no cure yet. This form of cancer is so hard on the victim and their families. For patients who seek justice, for their meso issues, they may need to hire an mesothelioma attorney as soon as possible. The longer you wait, the more rights you might be giving away or losing. If you see that mesothelioma is going to lead you to a courtroom in the near future, you do want to get a good meso lawyer on your side now. It makes things much easier, if you know and understand your legal rights. An attorney who works with cancer patients, will be able to help you and your family stay informed, if you are in a position to collect a sum payment. In some mesothelioma cases, there is someone to blame and these people are being held accountable for their mistakes. Mesothelioma is something that is better understood in a court room now; than compared to a decade ago. Don’t wait a minute longer and get legal help today!

  • Schools Need Lockers for All Ages

School systems should really think about providing lockers to all school kids. Back when I was in school, we didn’t get school lockers until the 9th grade or high school level. A lot of things have changed since then. Back during this time, a digital calculator was about the most expensive thing a student carried and most students didn’t have this at school. Now the Internet is here, along with a wide assortment of high-tech gadgets, a lot of school kids do bring to school. While most schools don’t like cell phones, students still bring them to school for emergency purposes. A cell phone is a good example of why kids need secured lockers at school. Or at least a place to store their belongings, where another adult or teacher can oversee them.

The lockers for kids don’t exist in most of the lower grade levels. This means the smaller kids have to carry around all of their personal school supplies. This can cause a lot of added pressure or stress on the younger students. If they had a locker, in which they could store their own personal crayons, markers, notebook paper, pencils, pens, and other school related items, they wouldn’t have to keep all of these things at their desk. By allowing the children to store their things in a locker, it would help to tech them what things to get now and which things can be got later. It’s a big transition in high school, when you have to learn these “responsibility” lessons for the first time. Students could be more prepared for high school, if locker-training was developed in the lower grade levels.

No grade is too soon for kids to begin with lockers. It really isn’t expensive for schools to buy childrens lockers. It is something that can be used year after year and they don’t wear out. It’s a one-time educational costs. Most kids would be excited to have their own lockers or personal space at school. It gives them a sense of privacy and a place where they can store all their valuables. A personal locker for each student also allows them the freedom to decorate it too. Teachers could allow students to bring pictures or create artwork for their own locker spaces. The teachers also have the ability to enforce a clean locker space, so students are learning another responsibility lesson in cleanliness. I just really see a lot of upside for kids lockers, with very few downsides. If technology continues to produce these costly educational gadgets, every school will have to come up with a more secure environment for students. I believe the cheapest way to start enforcing these measures, with our modern educational system, is to set up lockers for every student in the first grade and beyond.

  • The Benefits of Stockings

There are all kinds of stockings. Mostly we think about women wearing stockings on their legs. Men can wear stockings too and its not for bank robberies either. I see professional athletes in football wearing stockings all the time. A lot of the NHL players in professional hockey wear stockings for various reasons too. The compression stockings women wear can be for two different reasons. The first reason is probably the most obvious reason and this would be for looks. Stockings can make the legs of a female more attractive to look at. Since stockings come in different colors, you can find some in a light brown color, which can make it look like a nice sun tan.

Another benefit from stockings is for health reasons. A lot of men get pulled hamstrings and other pulled muscles and they can get special stockings to wear over these injured muscles. It can help to keep them constricted and have a less chance of injuring the muscle further.

Stockings can also be worn on our arms too. Women usually do this for the fashion reasons; while men will use stockings over their arms for more of the sports related stuff. Do you know of any men who wear stockings? If so, please reply back and let us know for what reasons they wear stockings over the legs, arms, or some other body part.

  • I think it sounds crazy to even mention schools and police in the same sentence, but we can’t stick our heads  in the sand any longer. Students do need the police for certain situations. When students turn to violence to settle problems and old scores, the police forces around the country become a necessary tool. Nothing can be taken too far; when it comes to the safety and well-being of our students in public and private schools. You want your children to obtain the best education possible; while maintaining a safe environment around them. You are not alone with these thoughts and beliefs, because every parent out there, shares these same feelings or at least to some extent they do.

While the state of Texas has always been a leader for controversy in our union of states in this great country, they certainly woke up a few educators with their latest headlines. It is true, the police departments in Texas are getting involved in the educational system and your child, might just have to attend court, if their behavior is deemed bad enough at school. A simple outburst in the classroom today, isn’t necessarily a trip to the Principal’s office. If your child uses profanity or causes too much of an uproar, the police can issue tickets and charge these students with a misdemeanor. Even a student that is 6 years old, can act up enough, where the law officers have no choice, but to issue them a real citation from a real Texas police officer.

In Texas, the school board and the law officers are dead serious about profanity in school systems, the use of weapons, violence, abusive behaviors, and anything a child could do at school, which could cause or inflict real harm or damage, is not going to be tolerated any longer. Students will be issued tickets at school and these will carry a lot more weight, once these students gather with their parents and go before a real Texas Judge. We may even seen the Texas attorneys get in on the action, as they may be forced to defend the rights of a unruly 6 year old boy or girl.

I look forward to hearing more from the Texas School Board and seeing if police officers can really team up with educators on a daily basis and help students at the end of the day.. As much as the class clown likes to draw all of the attention their way, it looks like police and these tickets and real public citations is also going to draw-in some attention. I’m not sure I agree with the distraction aspects of everything. I believe the police will be causing more attention, than any one student could ever cause in their classroom.

As a parent, do you agree with these new tougher enforcements for students in Texas, who commit serious school yard offenses? Do you think the Texas Police is going too far and over-stepping their boundaries, by inserting police tactics and regulations on children as young as 6 years old? Can a fair line be drawn in the school sands; where teachers are on one side and the Texas Police on the other? If your child comes home with a ticket from the Police, do you seek an attorney or legal help for your child?

Lots of questions and debates will be coming in the days, weeks, and months to come, you can sure bet on that. I think this will get more public attention than Texas will want to get. At least the blogger in me, sitting a few states away from Texas, thought enough of this story to write up a lengthy blog post and even included a few generic pictures,  to help illustrate some of my points and questions on the subject. Texas will get their dose of attention out of this new public school story. Texas has a long history of being one of our most controversial states, but they may have gone just a bit too far this time.  Let’s see where the Federal Judges in Texas stand on this issue and if they will take it upon their self to take action, before any students start collecting permanent marks on their permanent records.

  • Most online shoppers know that Amazon is the number 1 retailer online for books. Most will be surprised to see Amazon as the top online retailer for school supplies too. You can’t find too many websites online today, which offer as many back-to-school supplies as Amazon does. Then after you see how low the school supply prices are, you won’t shop any where else, when it comes to stocking up on the notebook paper, pencils, ink pens, and colored magic markers for your child’s school supplies.

The school year is half way over for most U.S. students. After the holidays are over, students will return for the 2nd part of their school year. A lot of those supplies parents bought at the beginning of the year are slowly disappearing. A lot of these students will be needing more paper, pencils, folders, and other supplies to get them to the end of year. The high school students will be starting their 2nd semesters and may need a special notebook pad or folder for the new classes they will begin taking. Parents need to check with their child and see if there is any extra school supplies they will need, before the school bell rings for summer vacations. I think most of the school supplies selling online now, are cheaper than the supplies which were being sold this past summer. You can probably find better deals during the winter time, since less shoppers are buying those school supplies for the 2nd half of the school year. Just be sure to check out the prices, the next time you are online buying books or movies at Amazon and see what back-to-school bargains you can find on the Internet.

  • A lot of Internet users don’t know how to find pictures and images online. Each day someone is discovering the World Wide Web for the first time. Many of these new computer users will admire the pictures they see online, but how many will wonder where these pictures come from? There are a number of ways to get good pictures online or images of beautiful artwork.

I was able to see a lot of very nice shepard fairey prints from my computer. These attractive prints are available to anyone who has a computer with an Internet connection. If you were looking for prints like this, you could do an online search for fairey shepard or shepard fairey and probably find a lot of good websites, hosting these attractive images online.

Smokey Robinson in Gold by Shepard Fairey

This is one example of the online prints you can find by Shepard Fairey. This print was made for a legend in music. It is done in a golden color and features the great Smokey Robinson. There are many other great prints you can choose from and this is just one print design I really liked. I’m sure everyone will find at least one shepard fairey art print online, they can recognize and identify with. I am really jealous of the people, who can wake up each day and have the artistic ability to create something as nice as this in the world of art design. Usually there is at least one artist in each household and I can vouch that person isn’t me in my family. I can appreciate the art work these people create, but I wouldn’t have a clue on how to begin, to put something this scenic together.

  • Once again, we have so many football fans in the South disregarding the BCS Rankings and the other major rankings in college football. They are just giving too much credit to the Pac 10. No matter what it is in life, there is always a good rule of thumb you can follow. If you ever want to get to the bottom of something, just follow the money. Where does the money in college football lead to? For about a decade now, the boosters and a very wealthy and powerful group associated with the USC Trojan football program is where all the money starts and ends in college football. You can just follow the USC football program over the past few years and see how they continue to get way too much credit, for a program that is mediocre at best.

Go back to Vince Young and their underdog team the Texas Longhorns, facing the mighty Trojans and Matt Leniert, who were easy favorites to win the National Championship. No way did the Longhorns have a chance to win this title game in college football. One team that did match up better against Matt Leniert (who has never found his way in the NFL yet) was the Auburn Tigers. The SEC team from Southern Alabama had a couple of good tailbacks in Cadillac Williams and Ronnie Brown; along with a talented QB in Jason Campbell. These 3 players from Auburn have all 3 been the starting RB for their NFL teams (Williams – Tampa Bay Buccaneers; Bown – Miami Dolphins) or the starting QB  for his NFL team (Campbell – Washington); while star QB Leniert from USC has not been able to hold a starter or solid back-up role in the NFL. How could these 3 players be kept from a shot at playing a 1 star USC Trojan team in the title game a few years back? This is simple. The Auburn Tigers was the best team that year and the Longhorns or Trojans couldn’t have beat them. It made for a better game to put the 2nd and 3rd place teams in a National Title Game; than to let Auburn play.

The SEC can’t produce undefeated teams. It’s just too tough, with all the good teams in the Southeastern Conference. When one does manage to “luck up” and go undefeated, it’s a no-brainer to put them on the National Stage in the College Championship Football Game. The SEC has won the last 4 college football championships, because the best talent plays in the South. This is a fact and not a bias southern opinion.

What screws everything up, each year, is people like Kirk Herbstreet, who puts way to much of his air-time on TV, to talk and pump up the Nation about the USC team and the other PAC 10 football programs. Herbstreet doesn’t hide the fact he is (or was) a big fan of the USC football program. His ties with Pete Caroll ran deep and not only did Caroll cheat college football and the fans and players associated with the USC Trojan team, but Kirk Herbstreet played a financial role in this college football scam too. Herbstreet has been paid very well for his tongue and the words he has pushed for on the TV air waves. To promote the Country on the super talent, the super teams, and the super program in Southern California; which make up the Pac10 Conference in college football. The truth is the Pac 10 is very weak and for most years over the last decade or so, the Pac 10 isn’t even one of the top 4 NFL Conferences in college football. I think they may have been 5th best conference in 2 of the last 10 years and the other 8 years, clearly not even a top 5 conference in college football.

So who benefits? Well once everything gets pushed and moved around and USC fails to make another appearance in the BCS Title Game, the power shifts and another PAC 10 team gets rewarded for the bogus rankings, that get pushed on to USC and their opponents; which is mainly Pac 10 football teams.

Have I lost you yet? Well with all of that said, you can still break it down year by year and see how USC is the direct blame. It is their group of wealthy fans and boosters; which pay money to the football program and to the players, coaches, media personalities like ESPN’s Kirk Herbstreet, and to those who hold a vote in the college football ranking system. All of this money gets pushed into places, where USC is guaranteed a higher ranking than any other school who matches their season’s record.

Before I can show you how Oregon is the clear number 1 choice in the Rankings (even though they shouldn’t be), I have to show you where USC plays key roles in this year’s cheating scheme of 2010. It’s really hard to understand how USC could have worked their way into the top 25; when there is clearly 30 teams or more in college football, who are better than them.

USC Trojans AP Top 25 – 14th in the Country. The USA Today Rankings don’t even see them as a top 25 team. How does this happen? First, no way did USC have enough coming back from their horrible season last year, to warrant a top 25 spot, much less 14th! USA Today has it right, since this team has a new coach and no big talent returning. This is the PRESEASON RANKINGS.

Week 1 – USC travels to Hawaii and beats them by 13 points. Even though USC gave up 36 points on defense, they beat a 9 – 3 football team on their own field. This is a descent win for USC. The AP drops USC 2 spots to the number 16 team in the country (little unfair and USC should have kept their previous ranking). USA Today Ranking still does not put them in the top 25.

Week 2 – USC wins at home against Virginia who is a 4 and 8 football team this year. USC wins by 3 points (17 to 14) despite this 4 and 8 football team from the ACC gaining more yards than USC and had 4 more first downs; while playing on the road in a hostile environment. The Virginia Cavaliers is one of the weakest teams in the Atlantic Coast Conference and are actually listed last, in their ACC rankings. AP Top 25 drops them down 2 more sports (deserved it) and the USA Today still does not have them on the Top 25 radar, after winning their first two games. Seems to be a big difference in opinion. One system starts at 14 and now has them 18 with 2 wins and the other just ignores them.

Week 3- USC beats an unranked Minnesota team by 11 points on the road. Now things are getting strange! USC drops 2 more spots in the AP Top 25??? A poll that saw them as the 14th best team in the country and this 14th ranked team wins their first two games, two descent road wins and a shameful home win and again USC drops 2 spots to number 20 in the country. The guys at USA Today still don’t see wasting their ink on them and USC fails for again to make the top 25 teams here.

Week 4- USC travels to Washington State and blows out a 2-9 Pac 10 team. Now the AP 25 Poll awards USC for this win and moves them back up 2 spots to the number 18 team in the country. This is disturbing that USC beats 3 non-Pac10 teams and drop 2 spots each week. Suddenly a Pac 10 opponent appears on the schedule and they get awarded 2 spots in the poll for beating them? USA Today still leaves USC off their rankings. A 4-0 team is not ranked on USA Today; while the AP has kept them in the top 20 all year long and gave them lots of help, by ranking them 14th in the preseason polls. Things really begin to stink here, if it wasn’t already, and here is proof the Pac 10 gets too much credit in football. The AP Poll has found a way to take a shot at the ACC; while giving the Pac 10 a boost. USC loses 2 spots for beating a weak ACC team. Then turns around and awards them 2 spots for beating a weak Pac 10 school. This is part of the math calculations and cheating; which takes place on the Pac 10 side of things in college football.

Week 5-  USC suffers their first loss of the season. They get beat at home by Washington (Pac10 school) . The Huskies are a 5 and 6 team and a below .500 team has just went into USC and beat them on their own home field. You know USA Today will keep them off the list for another week and the AP 25 finally is able to push them off of their list and now the USC Trojans are no longer ranked on anyone’s list as a top 25 school. As you can see, overall record of 4 and 1 isn’t bad, but no competition and with a weak schedule, they have lost 1 home game and won another home game by 3 points, to the worse ACC Team.

Week 6- USC losses for a 2nd straight week. Finally they play a rank team in number 16 Stanford, but should Stanford be the 16th best team in the country at this point? USC and Stanford both had the same record at 4 and 1. USC unranked; while Stanford was all the way up in 16th place with their 4 wins over Sacramento State, UCLA, Wake Forrest, and Notre Dame. They did not have a win over any top 25 team and their 1 loss was to a Pac 10 team Oregon. In comparison, the South Carolina Gamecocks (SEC school) had played 1 less game on the schedule, but they had 1 loss to Auburn and had beat number 22 Georgia (top 25 school). South Carolina is number 19 in the country with a win over a top 25 team; while Stanford has beat no top 25 teams. Right here is a problem. Stanford from a weaker PAC 10 conference is being given more credit than a SEC school; when the SEC team has a victory over a top 25 team. So Stanford because a PAC 10 springboard; which this conference needs, so they can keep up with the SEC. No poll has USC ranked for a 2nd straight week.

Week 7- After losing two straight, USC gets back to winning against a Pac 10 California team who is unranked. The Golden Bears is a 5 and 7 team this year, so another team below .500 for this year. Nothing impressive here and neither poll awards USC for their win; which they shouldn’t have.

Week 8 – USC’ BYE WEEK – The team played against no one. Both polls keep USC unranked.

Week 9 – Time to play the number 1 team in the country. Nice for USC to have a bye week, before such an important game. Oregon comes in to USC’s stadium and beats them by 21 points. If you beat a team by 21 points, that’s a convincing win, right? If you beat them by this margin on their own home field, it leaves no room for doubt, that this was a solid win and the home team deserves no credit. However, we now see USC move back into the top 25 AP poll? How could this be? Sure you played the number 1 team in the nation, so you’re expected to get beat. If you only get beat by a field goal or a touchdown, it could show some signs of strength. This did NOT happen! USC got beat by 3 touchdowns and they had home field advantage! Some interesting stats developed in this game too.

*Oregon produced exactly 222 more yards on offense than USC did. That is amazing in it self, but what if I told you that the USC Trojans had the ball on offense for 5 minutes and 10 seconds longer than the Oregon Ducks? Did the Pac10 officials try to help USC win this game? USC had 3 flags threw at them the whole game and they got penalized for only 22 yards. While Oregon got flagged 8 times for 85 yards. Oregon almost had 3 times as many flags against them; and was 3 yards shy of having 4 times the amount of yardage subtracted from them. I believe the Pac 10 officials working this game, was in favor and took bribes to try and help the home team USC to win this game or at least to keep it close.

History of USC Flags and Penalty Yards Before the Oregon Game:

    1. @ Hawaii -  11 Flags = 100 yards

    2. Virginia – 13 Flags = 150 yards

    3. @ Minnesota – 7 Flags = 71 yards

    4. @ Washington State -  5 Flags = 39 yards (Opponent 2 flags = 15 yards) Refs Let Them Play Here

    5. Washington -  5 Flags = 49 yards

    6. @ Stanford – 8 Flags – 53 yards

    7. California – 8 Flags – 54 yards

    8. Oregon – 3 Flags – 22 yards (opponent 8 flags = 85 yards) Either 1st or 2nd game for USC to have lower flags/penalty yards than their opponent.

I won’t push too much on the corruption angle here. Even though USC got the bye week before playing Oregon and the referees did lend more help to the Trojan football team; than their northern Pac 10 opponents got. Oregon did have 9 days to prepare for this game, but USC still got 5 more, as they benefited from a full two weeks of preparations.

The main point I wanted to make about the bye week and the ref’s giving USC all the calls, is the fact, that USC still lost this game by a considerable margin.

    *Homefield Advantage

*Awarded 63 More Yards by Officials wth Penalty Flags

*Controlled Ball on Offense 5+ Minutes

These 3 things in a football game, can help a team to win or make it a closer game than it should. USC got beat by 21 points and gave up 50+ points, to a team that had the football 5 less minutes than they did. In no way should USC should have moved up in the polls.

Now comes the most disturbing part of my debate. I have walked you guys through each week of the season up to this point. After USC loses this game to the number 1 Oregon team, I have them calculated as moving up from no rankings in the AP Top 25, to the number 24 team in the Country. I know my “Week 1″ , “Week 2″, etc.. might be a little confusing, but I first showed the preseason ranking with USC number 14 in the AP Top 25 Poll. Then I start with “Week 1″ for the first game USC played. Based on that result, I go ahead and include the Sunday ranking decision on my Week 1 statements.

If you tracked this online at Yahoo, you would see they go from a “preseason ranking” to a “2″, “3″, “4″, etc… They never list “1″ on their rankings; while I did include a Week 1 on mine.

If you go to Yahoo Sports and look at Oregon’s season, you will see they got credit for beating the 24th ranked USC Trojans on their schedule. I don’t think this happened and I believe USC became 24, after losing to Oregon. I know, I know, that doesn’t make much sense, so obviously I am the one who is wrong and Yahoo has it listed correctly.

If this is true and I am wrong, it only goes to prove my corruption point further with the NCAA, Pac10, and the AP Top 25 Ranking. Why? Because let’s remember what happened to USC before the Oregon game. Nothing! Absolutely nothing happened before Oregon rolls into the Coliseum at USC, because the Trojans had a bye week!

So is the AP Top 25 Poll, trying to convince college teams, coaches, players, and college football fans; that the USC Trojans actually deserved to move up, not 1 to number 25, but up 2 spots from a unranked position, to the number 24 team in the Country, on their bye week?

SEC Teams are commonly losing ground in the rankings; on their bye weeks. It is not uncommon at all for a team who doesn’t play one Saturday, to actually lose spots. To move up, by not playing, would call for a lot of special circumstances. The USC Trojans had only played one team in the top 25 and that was Stanford, who was ranked 16 without a top 25 win; while South Carolina was 19th and they did have a top 25 win. In Stanford’s defense, you can give them credit, since South Carolina had a bye week and had played 1 less game. But if you go that route, it only hurts USC even more, by moving them up 2 spots; while they took a week off from college football.

Oregon has been given credit for beating a top 25 team (24 USC); while USC was ranked at number 18 in the AP, they lost their WEEK 5 Ranking; when they got beat by Washington. WEEK 6 Rankings show USC as an unranked team. They lose to Stanford for back to back loses, and continue to not be ranked in WEEK 7. They get back to winning and beat California, but the AP doesn’t view this as a quality win, and in WEEK 8, the USC Trojans are still not ranked. Now USC goes into their bye week, and the new rankings come out; which vault USC to number 24??? They moved up at least 2+ spots, to number 24 after playing nobody. Over their last 4 weeks of college football, they have lost 2 games, beat a California team, who had 2 losses and no wins over a top 25 school, and a bye week, and was not vaulted to any where after the California win, but received more credit, when they just didn’t play?

This is an obvious attempt, by the AP Poll and their voters, to give the Oregon team, a top 25 win. Oregon should not have credit for beating a top 25 team; when USC moved into number 24, after a bye week. You just can’t go from unranked to suddenly top 24 ranked, with a bye. Even with faulty top 25 win, does Oregon’s resume still look better than the Auburn Tigers? Not only does Oregon have the benefits of being ranked as the number 1 team getting ready to play the number 24 Trojans, but the AP at this point, has Boise State in 2nd place with 11 first place votes to Auburn’s 3 votes! And Oregon with 44 first place votes!

    1. Oregon – 44 first place votes – 1 Top 25 Win (Stanford)

    2. Boise State – 11 first place votes – 2 Top 25 Wins (Oregon State & Virginia Tech)

    3. Auburn – 3 first place votes – 3 Top 25 Wins (South Carolina, Arkansas, LSU)

Now obviously the AP Voters are given some credit for margin of victory, as they should. But let’s keep in mind, this is the standings and votes after 8 games. Oregon has played only 1 top 25 school in 8 games and Auburn has met 3 top 25 schools in their first 8 games. Almost half of Auburn’s schedule has been with ranked opponents, so it’s a little tougher to win by wide margins, when you’re facing tougher opponents.

Auburn’s unranked opponents consist of teams like Kentucky, Mississippi State, and Clemson. They had 2 easy opponents in Arkansas State and and Louisiana Monroe; which they beat both easy by a combine score of 104 to 29.

Now let’s look at Oregon’s unranked teams, since they have 7 on their list, compared to 5 for Auburn. The good unranked teams Oregon beat in their first 8 games; were really no one!  Oregon beat Tennessee, who was able to win their last 4 games of the season to finish at .500. So Oregon really played the Volunteers when they were at their worse. Oregon beat Arizona State and they were 5 and 6 this season. Oregon beat the UCLA Bruins from the Pac 10 who was 4 and 7 this season. Oregon had wins over Portland State and New Mexico who finished a combine 3 wins and 20 loses for the season. And the only other win was against Washington State from the Pacific 10 Division in college football, who was 2 and 9 this season. After 8 games into the college football season, we have a team who beat a top 25 team and 1 team with a .500 record. They had 6 wins over teams who were under .500 and 2 teams with 2 wins and 2 teams with 1 win!

How exactly do you award 41 more first place votes to a team like that, against an Auburn team who has played 3 top 25 teams. Then won against a 8 -4 Mississippi State team, who is now ranked 22 in the country, really giving Auburn 4 wins over top 25 teams in their first 8 games. They beat 2 more .500 teams in Kentucky and Clemson. Beat Louisiana Monroe who had a 5 and 7 record this year and beat Arkansas State who had a 4 and 8 record. Auburn’s worse team two teams were 5 and 4 win teams. While Oregon played two 1 win teams.  Move up the ladder to the next two games and Auburn defeats a SEC and a ACC team (Kentucky and Clemson), who both finished with .500 records in two tough football conferences; while Oregon’s ladder goes into the 2 win teams. I mean really, Oregon played 4 teams in their first 8 games that finished the season with 2 wins or less. Auburn never played an opponent in those first 8 weeks of the season, who would end this year with 4 wins or more.

It’s important to point to this out, because Auburn’s competition level is 100X stronger than what Oregon had to face in these first 8 weeks and yet, they found 41 more first place votes! It’s just ridiculous and even more ridiculous when you see how USC made their way into the top 25, right before the Oregon game on a bye week.

Anyone in the country can compare the Auburn schedule with the Oregon schedule and see which team has faced tougher opponents. Yet, Oregon is ranked number 1 in the country and plays a weak in-state rival with Oregon State; which Herbstreet was quick to point out Saturday night, how this game is not a cake walk for Oregon, even though Oregon State had just got beat 38 to 0 earlier in the day. While once again, Auburn has the cards stacked up against them, as they have to face another top 25 team and play them on a neutral field in Atlanta, Georgia for the SEC Championship Game.

Auburn has already had to sit out of a championship game; while having a perfect season. No fair to make them jump through any more hurdles; when they have clearly deserved the first place votes and should be number 1 right now with a wide lead and some wiggle room.

  • The first picture will not be that shocking to teens, because they probably see it each week at school. I believe this first picture is more for the parents and they will be able to see how powerful this photo really is, of a school bus in the background. While two teens conduct business at school, right in front of this big yellow school bus.

This picture is powerful in many ways. We are looking at one or possibly two lives in the process of being destroyed. The person selling these drugs at school would be sent off to jail for a very long time, if they were ever caught. They would find it tough to secure a job in the future, with a record of going to jail or prison for selling drugs. This person also would run the risk of the adult giving them these drugs to sell and they might think this teen drug seller is telling the police about them. The adult could panic and become paranoid and might want to try and harm this young teen, who gets caught selling his or her drugs. This is not something that only happens in the movies. This happens in our everyday lives and there is a good chance, the local high school in your area has this type of activity going on periodically. This picture also captures the fact it is a bright and sunny day outside. This is the way a drug buyer feels, on the day they first get their drugs. It’s all good on the purchasing day, but that bright sunshine can quickly turn to gray skies.

This next picture should be shocking for teens and their parents. Unfortunately the teens who are using drugs, never actually get to see this in real life. I was hoping if I could show this picture to a few drug and alcohol addicted teens, it might give them the strength to quit this dangerous cycle they’re currently in. Remember, there is professional help from a teen drug rehab facility in your area and these folks have been trained to help you stop this dangerous and deadly addiction.

The Next Morning or the Next Day

Here is a picture the teens never do see. Why? Because the night before they went out with a few friends and had a little too much to drink and tried to drive. Or they simply found a combination of illegal drugs and prescription pills and decided to make them a little drug cocktail. For whatever reason, this teen didn’t come home last night when they were suppose to. Now they are laying dead some where off the side of the road and waiting to be found. Or their friends made a quick call to 9-1-1, due to this person not being responsive and the emergency workers could not revive them on the scene. This teen is now dead at the hospital, as the family waits for the funeral home to come and retrieve the body.

In most cases, a teen who uses drugs and alcohol gets depressed. In their state of depression, they often fail to clean their rooms. A messy room is not always a sign of a teen who is using drugs, but it can sometimes point to a depressed child. Not only did this teen leave their messy rooms for their parents to clean up, but they also left their self some where and now they can never return home again. If you just see this bedroom as another messy high schooler’s room, there really isn’t much to think about. If teens will look at this picture through a parent’s eye and understand this is the image parents see and remember; when their son or daughter never returns home.

This image never has to take place in your household. You can prevent your Mom and Dad from ever looking at your room; knowing that you will never sleep in that bed again. You will never throw your shirt in that white clothes basket again. The radio will never be heard from your ears again. Those necklaces hanging on the wall and the collection of hats hanging from the bed’s posts, will never be worn again. Don’t put your parents through this image or unimaginable sorrow they will feel; when they have to enter your bedroom, because they know you won’t ever again. A local teen rehab center is probably just a phone call away or one email away, if you find one on the computer. Reach out to send that email or to make that phone call to them. Stopping can be very hard, if you try to do this solo. These drug and alcohol professionals can usually give you other medicines; which will help with all of the withdrawal symptoms you will start to experience. Once you do make the choice to quit.

The teen addiction statistics are very real. These stats affect every family who has a teen or young person living in their household. When a teenager decides to drive a automobile and they are under the influence; then the whole community can become affected by these drug problems; which normally start in the school systems. We all need to send our children to school, but just educate them the best way you know how, so they can make better decisions. If you suspect your teen of using some form of drug at home, a friend’s house, or in high school. Then please seek professional help and see what steps you can do, to help your child, before anyone has to get hurt. Trying a drug once or twice is not an addiction, but can still have deadly results. It’s time community leaders everywhere step up and stop the adults who brings this trash to our kids at school or somewhere else.

  • Educational Toys for Christmas

    Educational Toys

I can’t believe Christmas is on our doorsteps already! After this Thursday, will be the busiest shopping day of the year. Yep, it will be Black Friday and this is a day where retailers like to put everything on sale and this includes toys too! All kinds of good deals will be available to shoppers, who are brave enough to enter the stores on this first shopping day of the season. That first Friday after Thanksgiving Day is when parents like to get up early and rush to the malls, so they can find the best deals on toys for their kids. Instead of just buying the normal assortment of toys this year. Try to look for toys that are not only fun to play, but are educational too. It’s great when our kids can play a game and actually be learning too. We as parents can achieve this, if we will look for more educational toys in the stores this year. You can still buy the toys highest on your child’s Christmas List, but for the surprise toys you buy them, try to pick up a few of these educational board games and the educational video games for the computer.

If you don’t feel like waking up early this Friday, you can always come online and check to see if there is any toy bargains on the Internet. Most of the online websites, which have a good assortment of toys for kids, will usually have several educational toys and games you can buy. Online shopping for the kids or any other gifts you need this year is easy, if you have never shopped online before.

I hope everyone finds what they are looking for this Friday. Remember to show courtesy to your fellow shoppers while in the parking lots, store aisles, and in the cashier’s line too! Merry Christmas and happy holidays everyone!

  • The folks living in North Georgia; who call Bradshaw Farms home, got their Halloween scare a little early this year. They got to experience a tornado, that the National Weather Service doesn’t even want to place a number on it. They are calling the Cherokee County Tornado in Bradshaw Farms a F-0 tornado. How rude is that?

This small, but very powerful tornado ripped 100 year-old trees out of the ground and wrapped a trampoline around a tree, like it was a large piece of rubber matting. Oh wait, I guess that is what a trampoline is made from, but it did a number on those support bars that keep the mat up.

People living in this area of Georgia was in real danger and this was no joking matter. It’s been estimated, the twister came down and went about 100 yards, before retrieving back up to the skies. In this horrifying event and one that almost took human lives, the meteorologists did not offer the most comforting words to these people. Since these weathermen are calling the 2010 Cherokee County Tornado Disaster of Bradshaw Farms just a F – 0 tornado.

Nope, sorry Georgia, sorry for you Cherokee County, and sorry for you who almost lost your life Bradshaw Farms community. Don’t worry though, I got your back. If these weather dudes want to show disrespect and not give our tornado a number; then let’s see how much sympathy they get from us, when one of those number tornadoes do show up.

Remember the tornado that went over the Georgia Dome? It was during a college basketball game at the Dome and there were some windows from the Peachtree Plaza that fell down that night and would keep falling down for several weeks after the tornado was gone? They gave that tornado a F-1. Oh yes, Atlanta got their number on the Taco Bell Fajita scale, where every tree around the Dome that night stayed rooted. So why do the trees in Cherokee County fly up out of the ground and still can’t score on the Richter scale?

It sounds like something is fishy with these instruments clocking wind speeds. Only the speed of these Wizard of Oz Nados that separate the F-0 (which translates to “probably wasn’t even a tornado, another one of those famous straight-line winds we here so much about, but only hear about when a tornado is present“) to the almighty F-5 Twisters that Helen Hunt and her buddy had to drive around town and destroy or all of mankind would cease to exist.

Since every industry and company in America is almost broke these days, I wonder if this is a insurance trick? Perhaps the insurance companies can avoid payments on straight-line winds or will only pay so much for a F-0 size tornado? Whatever the reason may be, I can tell you this tornado in Cherokee County was a lot more powerful than its being reported on the news.

How do I know this? Well, I live in Cherokee County and probably about 10 minutes away, from the Highway 140 entrance into Bradshaw Farms. Before this F – Nothing Tornado struck our nearby neighbors in Bradshaw Farms, they were happily residing in Hickory Flat, Ga; which is a part of Eastern Cherokee County. Now after the tornado has struck and went on its way, the local news reporters are saying the area of Bradshaw Farms in Woodstock, Georgia, got hit by the F Zero Tornado! That thing done picked this whole neighborhood up and sit them in Woodstock, Ga.! Not only did the Weather National Service of Peachtree City, Georgia (beeeeeeeeeeeeeeeep) miss this tornado’s Del Taco Fajita number, but if they look real close, they will probably see they’re missing a neighborhood in Woodstock, Georgia; because Bradshaw Farms is sitting on top of them now!

  • Oldest Gold Coins You Own?

By any chance, do you have any gold coins? What about some of the older coins that were made from the early 1900′s? It seems a lot of these older coins are beginning to surface again. While some may be fakes, because gold is so popular right now and people want gold coins or anything else in gold. Buyers should be very cautious, if they try to purchase any of these early 20th century coins. However, since gold has recently climbed to new record highs, it is possible, that some collectors are just deciding to sell now. It’s just a tricky time for coins and especially the older gold coins; that are the most popular for sellers and buyers.

Personally, I would just avoid the risk and buy my gold coins from a reputable coin dealer. The United States Gold Bureau is one example of a good and honest coin dealer. They also have a huge supply of the older coins; which a lot of collectors are searching for right now. When it comes to silver or any other precious metals, you can count on the U.S. Gold Bureau to come through, with their professional and friendly staff. They want to work hard and earn your business, so they can become the top gold, silver, and precious metals dealer in the country. If you are getting ready to make an investment into silver coins or maybe gold bars; then there is no need to look around any further. Here is the only American dealer you need to contact and you will be glad you did!

As for the old gold coins in my collection. I don’t think I have any that come before the 1980′s decade. I’m pretty sure I do own a few gold coins; which are probably not 100% gold, but a portion of real gold. I would like to browse the collection of gold coins at the US Bureau, so I could see if any of the early 1900 coins would be in my price range. What’s the oldest gold coin you have in your coin collections?

  • Buying a computer these days is certainly cheaper than it use to be. However, a computer is still an item that some families living in America can’t afford. Even if you can find a good used computer on sale, it is still costly to pay for an Internet service each month. Knowing how expensive it is to own a computer and be connected to the World Wide Web, I am shock what today’s school systems are doing.

In a lot of households, you have a Dad and a Mom who both work full-time jobs. So asking the parents to take the kids to a local library, so they can have access to a computer is really showing a lack of respect toward these working families. I’m shocked school system are actually requiring their students to own a computer at home. While 80% of most families will not have a problem with this modern measure the school systems are taking, it’s the other 20% I have concerns for. This means 1 out of every 5 students currently going to a elementary, middle, or high school does not have the ability to connect with the World Wide Web.

School systems can’t expect all families to be able to afford computers for their children. The schools are causing for students to be isolated, who don’t have a computer at home they can go home and surf the Net on. For the kids who do have access to home computers, they learn a lot more faster from computers; than the other kids who don’t have a computer at home.

I know in the perfect world, we would have a Mom or a Dad who comes home each evening from work and would spend hours and hours with their children on the computer. They would teach them how to type and how to navigate the Web by using online search engines. Yes, this would be a world we could all dream about living in one day. The problem we have now, is this perfect world doesn’t exist. Some parents both work full-time jobs or we have a single parent trying to raise more than 1 kid at home. When schools ask for parents to buy their kids computers and want them to pay for a monthly Internet bill; then that is not showing proper respect to these hard-working parents. In many cases, these families are struggling to just provide the basics like clothing, shelter, and food. It is ridiculous for any school to send homework out and the only way to get it properly done, is by using a computer at home.

Why Don’t Schools Buy Computers for All Students?

So why don’t schools just buy a computer for every student? They don’t have to take them home, just home enough computers to go around for each and every student. Oh, I know what the answer to this one is. Schools can not a buy a computer for every student, because this would cost too much money. Well doesn’t that sound familiar. Schools don’t have the funds to give every child in their school systems computers and this is true for parents too. They don’t have enough money to provide a computer, Internet service, and any other costs related to maintaining a working computer at home. If schools can’t afford a computers for all students; then why in the world would they ask parents to do this? School systems just don’t respect the working family and don’t care about the 20% percent of children who can’t afford a home computer. They just want to improve test scores and provide the best education possible to 80% of their students and they don’t care to let the other 20% of students without a home computer to fall through the cracks. Education in this country will never get better unless we give the same opportunities to 100% of our kids in school.

When we hear stories about a person killing somebody by drinking and driving or hear about a senseless murder where a kid with a bad past and labeled as a trouble kid; just goes out and abruptly ends the life of a straight A student or one who was almost a college graduate. This is because school systems and school teaches allowed for these students to slip between the crack and gave too much attention to the smarter or wealthier kids in class. Our troubles with violence in this country can go back to the education system in most cases and the number of smart and wealthy kids are a lot lower than 20 percent and it’s the 20 percent number of students, who don’t have access to the Net at home. Let’s end this deadly sense of poor educational focus and let’s get back to treating our students equal across the board.

  • Online Rankings are Fascinating

I really love to visit websites, where they are ranking certain groups or people in a certain order. You see this in sports a lot and especially at the professional level. The NFL Rankings or National Football League Rankings are popular with their fans. Each week you can visit a number of different websites; which will list the top 32 teams in order, according to their power rankings. These rankings aren’t always awarded by the team’s record. A football team in a lot of close ball games, but yet has a losing record, can still be ranked higher than you would expect.

Obviously for webmasters, there is only one ranking they care about. No other online rankings can compare to the one Google does for online websites. A lot of money gets paid out and Internet visitors get directed, by the all powerful Google Rankings or PR (page ranking) they provide for free online. Yes, I think its safe to say that Google is the king of ranking, at least for website owners.

There are rankings for just about everything online and somebody is probably putting a ranking together as you read this blog post now. The websites with the lists of cars or has Charts for Movies are often getting ranked by webmasters. I know the bloggers online like to write up blog posts and rank a variety of things in order; according to their personal views on a certain subject or how they interpret a specific topic. It can be just as much fun creating these rankings as it is to read them on someone else’s web page.

I’m sure there is something right now that you would like to rank online. If you have a list of top 5 or top 10 things you would like to put down in a certain order, please feel free to reply to this blog post and leave your rankings here. I would love to see how you would rank the top 5 movies, 1980′s songs, or a list of top 10 family pets to own. The fun thing about ranking, you have the freedom to choose everything under the sun and that’s what makes a lot of these rankings interesting to read.

I know for people living in America, we always think about the Asian countries being smarter than us. Especially when it comes to China and Japan and how their mathematics are so much higher than ours. I have always heard about the janitors in China knowing how to do calculus; which was a result of their educational levels in math. Well to my surprise, I saw a rankings online recently with colleges and it featured colleges from all over the world and their level of math skills. Believe it or not, the prestigious Harvard College was 3rd on the list. There was actually 2 American colleges that were ranked higher than Harvard. Can you guess which two they were? Six American colleges made up the top 10 in math; while the U.K. and France both had two colleges in the top 10. You have to go down to number 22 on the list to see a 4th country (Russia) and it’s not a Chinese or Japanese college either. In fact, Japan was the top college over China on the list and their college for mathematics was ranked 33rd overall. China got their name on the list in the 51-76 grouping. If you would like to see the two American schools who beat out Harvard in mathematics and the rest of the college math rankings, just visit the Academic Ranking of World Universities; which is a .org website.

If you would like to go create your own top ten lists; then I would suggest visiting Ranker.com online. This is an excellent place to view top rankings and personal lists all day long. I find this website very entertaining. Give it a try sometime, when you have a free moment, and I think you will agree with me, about this Ranker website being so much fun.
