Gold – It’s a Family Tradition

Tom Massie

It all started many years ago when Buzzard Massie got the fever for gold. He turned that fever into a great gold association that is still up and running today. It was Buzzard that got the ball rolling for the GPAA or Gold Prospectors Association of America. Things were progressing nicely until the 1990′s; when the untimely death of Buzzard Massie sent things back a bit. Lucky for the GPAA that Buzzard had two sons and two sons willing to take the gold club to the next level.

Tom Massie is the face you can see most often on the Outdoor Channel; which the Massie family owns and operates. Tom will take his wife and kids out on outdoor adventures looking for gold and these shows are still airing today on the Outdoor Channel. Tom gives viewers a chance to see them looking for gold, teaches tips and tricks about finding gold, and will go outside the lines to entertain in other non-gold ways. These gold shows are nothing like the fishing shows you see on TV. You know how the fisherman goes out and will land a nice fish every 5 minutes. These gold shows don’t show a whole lot of gold finding and mostly will talk about the history of the areas they’re currently in. It can be a bit frustrating to those that want to see gold being found, but it’s the best thing gold prospectors have for television viewing and trying to cure their gold fever. The Gold Fever gold shows hosted by Tom Massie usually last an hour and it’s good for beginners to watch. Another gold show comes on the Outdoor Channel and this one last 30 minutes and is basically a program advertising the adventures at Cripple River Mining Camp in Alaska. People can choose to visit Cripple River 6 weeks out of each year. They allow guests to search for gold for the entire month of July and then the first 2 weeks of August. You can select a 1 week visit or multiple weeks if you choose. Each trip ends with a gold draw and the biggest nugget found that week by the workers at Cripple River will get rewarded to the person that draws number 1. These numbers go up depending on the number of guests and the lowest numbers result in the most gold. The gold visitors find on their own, they can keep and take back home with them.

Perry Massie

Perry Massie is the other son of Buzzard Massie. He’s the CEO of the Outdoor Channel and participates in a lot of the shows that advertise for the mining camp in Alaska. He seems a bit more tougher than his brother Tom Massie and this is very evident on TV. No one will ever get Steve Irwin’s (Crocodile Hunter) bravery confused with the bravery or work ethic as Tom Massie. Perry is a little different and he’s more of a man’s man; if you know what I mean. Both brothers have did a good job with carrying on the legacy of their father. I’m sure both men are both very wealthy and they still put on the jeans and get outside to get dirty and you have to respect that. I’m not sure if Perry is at each trip for visitors in Alaska, but he appears to show up at a lot of them. If you plan a trip to the Alaska mining camp there is a good chance you will see Perry cleaning some fish or conducting the gold draw.

Buzzard Massie’s final resting place is near the Cripple River mining camp in Alaska. Visitors can visit his grave site and other areas of the massive property these guys own near Nome, Alaska. There are 4 wheelers available to rent and this will help you cover all the ground they own. Gold panning supplies are available for those that want to search the various creeks or just use a high banker on the shore line to search for all the flower gold that the ice leaves each year. I look forward to the day I can make a trip up to Cripple River and spend a week or two with the Massie’s creation in Alaska. It’s been a family tradition for the Massies and don’t be surprised to see Tom’s son or daughters take up the reins, when they get older and continue the family tradition.

Chevy Silverado as My Dream Truck

    Chevy Silverado

Nothing fancy for me when it comes to choosing my dream truck. I get more wild with my dream car selections, but a good basic truck is all I need for my dream truck. I think the older models of the Chevrolet Silverado is perfect for me. I don’t have anything against the newer versions of the Silverado, but those made in the 1980′s have a nice look. It’s a rugged look and a truck you could work with or go off road with if you wanted to. It’s getting harder and harder to find the Chevy Silverados from the 80′s that look good and still run good. I have been wanting one of these older model Silverados for a long time and I know I am running out of time, if I don’t buy one in the next couple of years.

It wouldn’t be wise to drive a 1980′s truck across country or for any long distant trips. If I left my home on the east coast and headed for the U.S. west coast, I know I would probably break down around Texas somewhere. I would then have to rely on a Dallas auto repair shop to get my Silverado fixed and back on the road again. It may need more repairs once I got to the west coast or have to stop in at Dallas again on my return trip. Car repairs are normal for those that take long trips, but making these trips in older vehicles is not smart to begin with. If you currently own a Chevrolet Silverado, please tell me the longest trip you made and did you experience any problems? I think travelers would be fine for a long trip in the newer Silverados; it’s the ones from the 1980′s that I would have my doubts about. They are good about not breaking down if you drive them around locally. You may have to get a brake job done every now and then, but the overall running condition would stay good, if you did avoid the long trips in these classic trucks.

    80's Sliverado

Do you like the older Chevy trucks from the 1980′s? Or would you prefer one of the newer model Silverados? I’m happy with a simple truck and one that I wouldn’t worry about putting a few scratches on. I never owned a work truck. I think all men need one and they’re good for hauling stuff that you can’t do with a car. They say if you keep the oil changed in these trucks they will last a lifetime. I will be sure to keep my dream truck up, if I ever get a chance to buy one.

  • Mark McGwire Confesses to Steroid Use

The man with “Popeye” arms who hit 70 home runs in a single season has confessed to using steroids and other performance enhancing drugs. We know Popeye got his arms by eating a lot of spinach and Mark McGwire got his by taking steroids. Many want to know why he has chose to confess now and admit his association with steroids. It’s not clear right now why McGwire came out and confessed his sins, but if we have learned anything about baseball players in recent years, you can bet there is some form of greed behind his admittance to taking steroids.

I’m sure this new attention on steroids and Tiger Wood’s being in the news a lot lately, we may finally learn that Tiger Woods was also using steroids and his PGA championships seem a little gray right now. More needs to be done on Tiger Wood’s accomplishments in golf and an investigation would probably reveal that Tiger and others used performance enhancing drugs on the golf course.

Do you agree or disagree with Mark McGwire’s new confession that he used steroids to help him play better and recover from injuries faster; while he was an active MLB player? I haven’t made up my mind yet, but I’m sure his new revelation comes with something he hopes to accomplish or achieve by confessing his faults to the world.

If you’re a baseball fan, are you still mad at the last time these over paid cry babies went on strike? I know many have still not came back to watching baseball; since the last MLB strike took place. Or did you stop watching baseball after we learned half the players were using performance enhancing drugs to put up those amazing statistics? They say this is a soar subject for baseball players cause some of them did not use steroids. I find that funny and these guys are barking up the wrong sympathy tree. It’s the fans that got screwed and they are the ones that have been cheated. For all the guys in baseball that think steroids is a soar subject, our frustrations go back further than that. We have had to do without baseball because we see you guys fighting over millions of dollars and the average working baseball fan will not even make 1 million in their lifetime. Until MLB and the baseball players learn this isn’t about them anymore and it’s about the fans, they will continue to build this path toward destruction.

Major League Baseball is holding on by a thin thread now and unless the playing field levels out soon, baseball will no longer exist in America they way we know it today. The latest news on Mark McGwire will prove that fans won’t be showing up at the ball park this spring. Some fans were given these players the benefit of doubt and now they know for a fact that McGwire was using and this will affect ticket sales across all MLB parks this upcoming season.

  • Favorite Christmas Movies

    A Christmas Story

There are a lot of good Christmas movies and this is one of the things I like best about the holiday season. Some movies are new and some are considered classics and been around for years. As a kid I would always watch Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer and Frosty the Snowman every year. As I got a little older I started to like the movie A Christmas Story. I think this is my all time favorite Christmas movie and I love how TNT or TBS will usually show this movie all day long on Christmas Day. I will watch it more than once usually and this movie never gets old. If you have never seen A Christmas Story this is one Christmas movie you should really sit down and watch this year.

    It's a Wonderful Life

There are a lot more Christmas movies that I like to watch each year. It’s a Wonderful Life is one of the classics and this movie has been around for a long time. It seems it and the Miracle on 34th Street have been around for ages and most of our grandparents were watching these movies when they were younger.

It’s almost like a tradition for some families to see a certain Christmas movie each year. Every family has their own favorite movie to watch each year. Since there are so many good Christmas movies, many families have different ones that they will refer to as their traditional Christmas movie.

    Miracle on 34th Street

There are some new movies that people have started to make new traditions with. I know Home Alone is a good Christmas movie and it has 3 or 4 series you can watch. I’m a big Chevy Chase fan and I love all of the Vacation movies. The one Chevy Chase did that is called Christmas Vacation is really one of the better Christmas movies that is out there today. This movie reminds me a lot of my family and how they use to gather for these big family dinners on Christmas Eve or Christmas Day. We don’t do it that much anymore and I missed those days of where our extended families got together and would share the Christmas spirit. Christmas Vacation was made in 1989, so this is the 20th anniversary to this great Christmas movie. It’s not been around as long as some Christmas movies, but I think it will hold up over the years and be a traditional Christmas movie for some families. I still consider Christmas Vacation one of the newer movies that is out there.

    Christmas Vacation Movie

What are some of the Christmas movies you like to watch with your family each year? Is there a specific program that comes on during the holidays that you like to see? I know the Statler Brothers Christmas Special was always a fun thing to watch. I did see the Statler Brothers last year on RFDTV or Rural TV. I’m not sure if it’s coming on this year or not, but if you have Rural TV; then you can check their program listings. Be sure to let me know your favorite Christmas movies and which ones you liked best as a child.

  • 20″ Wheel – Huffy Green Machine

    Huffy Green Machine

The perfect gift from Santa this year is green and it won’t cost you a lot of green. The Huffy Green Machine at Buy.comis an affordable gift and it will be the bling under the tree this year for some kids. You still have time to get your online purchases delivered for free and before Santa Clause gets here. Let Santa Clause sneak one of these Huffy Green Machines next to your Christmas tree before your children wake up Christmas morning and it will be the one gift they will want to hop on instantly!

I’m an adult and I think I would like to try this ride out for a spin! The current price is less than $100; while it’s on sale and still in stock at Buy.com. You will have a hard time finding a gift that is this cheap and will draw more attention than the Green Huffy Machine. All eyes will be focused on these bright green colors, as your kids wipe away the morning matter in their eyes on Christmas Day. You need a gift that is an attention grabber and it’s best when it’s the gift Santa has brought from the North Pole. I think that front end tire that is 20″ tall could probably travel through the deep snows at the North Pole. This would be a good gift from Santa Clause this year. The kid’s new big wheel comes with:

    *Steel Single Tube Frame

    *Steel Side Pull Break Lever

    *Orange Safety Flag

    *Low Profile Molded Seat

    *Extra Wide Back Tires

    *CPSC Reflectors Included

    *Much, Much, Much More…

This is a gift item for kids that are 6 years old and older. That is what the manufacturer suggests on the ages, but my twin nephews will be turning 5 years old on December 15th and I think they would be big enough to ride this Green Big Wheel. At least they would attempt to hop on this bad boy and try to get the thing rolling. They do good with the pedals on their tricycle, so I think they could get the pedals moving on the Green Huffy too.

    Our Big Wheels of Yesterday

    big_wheel

Remember a big wheel that was similar to this one? These were the types of big wheels we had to ride when we was kids growing up. Things are upgraded now and changed for the better. You can easily see how the Green Huffy Machine is so much better than the Big Wheel of yesterday. If you want a Christmas morning with the big eyes and the non stop smile, be sure you go with the top of the line in Big Wheels. There is no contest that the Green Huffy Machine is at the top of the Big Wheel food chain!

  • Oprah Waving Bye to Her Fans

    Oprah Winfrey Leaving ABC

    Oprah Winfrey Waves Bye

The end is now in sight and one of the most popular talk shows ever is closing it’s doors for good. Perhaps you have heard about a little show on ABC called the Oprah Winfrey Show? The person that hosts the show happens to be named Oprah Winfrey too and she plans to call it quits. If you spell Oprah backwards you would come up with the word “harpo” and according to Harpo the Oprah Winfrey Show is marking a line in the sand for a ending point to this great story.

Oprah Winfrey has a lot of power on TV and her millions and millions of fans have gave her this power. Most will never forget that power when she made the simple comment about eating no more hamburgers. The reason Oprah Winfrey made this statement was due to Mad Cow disease and it had recently been found in the United States at this time. The Beef Industry was furious and even took Oprah Winfrey to court. Suprisingly Oprah didn’t fight back by doing commercials for chicken or some other industry that would have been in competition with the Beef Industry. I thought that would have been funny, but she was probably happy to just see this part of her life come to an end.

When Does the Oprah Winfrey Show End?

She is still going to be with us for awhile and it isn’t in the near future. Since Oprah and I are about the same in status level in the United States and the World; she gave me exclusive rights first to announce this. So with many thanks to Oprah, I can say that her show will be ending in 2011. I know you guys will miss her much, so I will be sure to pass on any messages, if you would like to leave a reply to this blog post. This is indeed the official Oprah Winfrey Blog and you can be sure the comments and replies left here will be the ones she reads first and has stored for all her great memories with you (the fans) and her daytime talk show.

Oprah Gail Winfrey was born in rural Mississippi on January 29th, 1954. The times were not good back then and her family was in poverty. She has came a long ways from her Mississippi days and at one time she was the only black billionaire in the World. She is easily the most powerful black woman in the World, but most give her the nod when it comes to the most powerful woman in the World period.

It will be a sad day in 2011 when Oprah does decide to call it quits. I’m sure the timing isn’t great for the new black president in America Barack Obama. Oprah did a cleverly disguised campaign during Obama’s run for the White House as she allowed politicians in favor of Barack Obama to appear on her daytime TV show; while not allowing anyone who opposed him or the Democrats. Barack Obama will be up for re-election in 2012 and this will be 1 year after the Oprah Winfrey Show is gone.  She is planning to give full details on her show tomorrow (Friday November 20th). Be sure to tune in to the Oprah Winfrey Show on Friday and you will have the chance to be a part of history. I’m sure this has the makings of being one of the highest rated Oprah Winfrey Shows ever (in terms of people watching at home). Stay tuned…

  • Simplify your hair care

I know as men start to age they lose their hair and it’s just a part of life that us men have to deal with. There is no magical cures that we can take that just instantly puts our hair back, like we had when we was younger. While there is no magic cure you can at least avoid itchy scalp through various products that can help keep your hair and scalp healthy. A good alternative to replace those balding spots is to consider a Hair Transplant. This procedure can give men their confidence back and it makes them less self-conscious in their appearances. There is hope and you don’t have to accept losing your hair. It’s good to know that men do have something to turn to if and when they start losing their hair. I think hair transplants are growing in popularity and you probably have been in contact with someone already that has had a hair transplant. They look so natural and are hard to detect and it’s no wonder that more and more men are starting to choose this popular procedure for replacing their hair.

If you are looking for simple ways to help keep your hair healthy then ZincPLex may be a product that could be of interest. With natural ingredients that are shown to help reduce oily, itchy scalp these products may be able to help you with your hair care needs.

  • My Fantasy Basketball Team

I’m off to a good start in my fantasy basketball team league. I had the 5th overall pick in my draft this year. Everyone in our league has their teams now and we are already in action this year. I am currently sitting in the 3rd overall spot in my basketball league this year. I hope to move up and win it all by the end of this year.

Do you play fantasy sports? If you have a fantasy basketball team; then feel free to share it with us. What players currenlty make up your rosters in your basketball league? Our fantasy league uses the stats of real NBA players and this determines how well each team does for the year. Our players get credited for stats they do each game and it’s just like having a real life NBA team. You can check out my current fantasy team for the 2009 and 2010 season. I hope these guys are enough to put me over the top, but I know injuries will start to play a part soon and this is when it’s up to the fantasy team managers to make the right calls for their team. It seems my biggest weaknesses right now is in field goal percentage and I need 1 or 2 more guys that can make 3 point baskets. If I can tweak these two areas over the next couple of months, I think my fantasy NBA basketball team will be hard to beat. Let me know how you’re doing this year and what players you have on your current fantasy teams right now.

  • How Does 1/5 of the Top 25 College Football Teams Get Beat in November?

Why was there so many teams that were ranked in the top 25 and got beat by non ranked opponents? You can see this happen early in the college football season; when we are still trying to see how the teams stack up against each other. You know something must be wrong when so many teams get beat from the top 25 BCS Rankings. We are already in November and we have had time to see how these teams play. Most of us know which teams are for real and which ones are not. It’s late in the year in terms of the college football season and these BCS Rankings. There is no way we should see upset after upset, if we were doing these rankings right. So what’s the problem in college football?

    USC Trojans

I know the answer and I can tell you why so many ranked teams got beat this past weekend. This is an easy one and I have been trying to tell this to everybody over the last few years. These rankings are messed up due to the bias ranking system and the money that one school has. The richest football program in America is the one out in Southern California. The USC Trojans are the ones with all the money, bias voters, and a direct blame to what’s wrong in college football this year and since the BCS rankings started. You may find it hard to believe that one college football team could be the root or cause for so many ranked teams losing this past weekend, but it’s true.

Just look at the top 25 teams that got beat this past weekend and they have ties to the USC football program. These schools get higher rankings than they deserve, so they can make USC’s football schedule look better than it really is. The Pac 10 is just a weak football conference and it’s impossible for USC to have a tough schedule playing in that conference. They should be the team that rises to the top in that conference each year, but they can’t even beat the Pac 10 teams that are on their schedule. No way should Notre Dame have been ranked 25th in the country when they played USC this year. The Fighting Irish was not a top 25 school that Saturday when these two matched up. The voters knew they had to keep Notre Dame in the top 25, so USC could get a top 25 win on their resume for the bowl games this year.

You think I’m wrong? You think I’m just a crazy blogger and upset because my college football team isn’t where they’re suppose to be? I’m a Georgia Bulldog and Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets fan. I will leave these two schools out of my reasoning to prove just how bias these voters are. Have you seen the latest poll from USA Today? The USA Today college football poll has the USC Trojans at number 10. The same USA Today Poll has the LSU Tigers ranked at number 11! Are you kidding me? Who in the world would rank USC above LSU at this point in the college football season? The BCS Rankings use these polls and justice isn’t being served here for the players, coaches, and fans living in Louisiana that root on their Tigers each Saturday. Yes, both USC and LSU have two loses on the season. Have you actually seen who they lost to? USC lost to Oregon (who has 2 losses) and lost to Washington (who has 6 losses), so USC lost to two teams that have 8 combines losses their self. The LSU Tigers lost to the best two teams in the country and they haven’t lost to anyone. The Florida Gators and Alabama Crimson Tide have 0 combined losses on the year and both beat the LSU Tigers. It’s understandable how LSU lost their games; why did USC get beat by a team that didn’t even win a football game last year (Washington Huskies) and the Oregon Ducks? Why in the world would anyone rank the USC Trojans over the LSU Tigers? This makes no sense and if you’re upset in Louisiana; then you should be!

    Pete Carol USC Coach

The Direct Links to USC and Upset Saturday on November 7th

Oregon should have never been ranked in the top 10. They couldn’t even beat Boise State first game of the year and I know Boise State has a nice record, but they haven’t played anyone in college football either. Voters pushed them up to the top 10, so USC could have a victory over a top 10 school. The plan didn’t work too well; since the Trojans lost to the Ducks two weeks ago. Oregon moves up a couple of spots and was even ranked above the LSU Tigers; who had only lost to the number 1 Florida Gators at this point last week. Now bring in the mighty Stanford Cardinal and all they did was score 51 points on the number 8 team in the land. If you go by the AP Top 25 college football poll they had Oregon ranked 7th in the country last week! Unranked teams that are not in the top 25 in college football, don’t go around beating and scoring 51 points on top 10 teams in the country. It just doesn’t happen; unless you have voters trying to help the USC Trojans resume.

I already mentioned how Notre Dame should not have been a top 25 team; when they played USC. They were ranked 22nd in the BCS rankings, 21st in the USA Today Poll, and 19th in the AP Top 25 poll before their game on Saturday against the Midshipmen from Navy. I realize the Navy Midshipmen is a descent college football team, but they’re not ranked in the top 25 in any poll or BCS ranking. Navy has lost 3 games this year and one was to Temple. Any team that the Temple Owls can beat in college football, should not be able to beat any top 25 team. Well the Navy Midshipmen proved that theory wrong, because they lose to Temple, but beat the Notre Dame Fighting Irish this past Saturday. The reason this happen is because USC needed a top 25 defeat on their resume for the bowl games this year. No one seriously thought Notre Dame would be in a BCS Bowl Game this year. It was just a fabrication of hype and led by former coach Lou Holtz and his cast of bias voters from ESPN. They had to start Notre Dame so high in the rankings, because they knew they would lose their way out of it. It took until November for this to happen, but the USC Trojans got credit for a top 25 victory over a team that will never see the top 25 again this year.

Now let’s look at the California Golden Bears that share the same state as the USC Trojans. California was ranked 20th in the BCS rankings before their game on Saturday. This is a little hard to figure; since the AP Poll and USA Today Poll both had California ranked at 23rd in the country. That right there is a little fishy and probably more proof on how USC has corrupted the landscape of college football. An unranked team from Oregon called the Oregon State Beavers got to play the 20th ranked Golden Bears. It wasn’t even a contest and the Beavers owned the Golden Bears for much of the game. Another unranked team beating up on a rank team in college football and this is November! The Beavers won by 17 points and had a 24 to 7 lead for a big portion of the game. How did this happen so late in the college football season? Well the USC Trojans have a victory over the California Golden Bears and need them in the top 25 in college football. The week before the USC/California game; the Golden Bears only scored a field goal against Oregon as the Ducks beat them 42 to 3. After this terrible loss, California should have moved out of the top 25. They got kept there, so the USC Trojans could have another victory over a top 25 team. Now we see California lose to a non ranked college football team in November and the Golden Bears have fallen off the charts. This USC football team is causing all these problems and upsets.

    Iowa Hawkeyes Football

Did USC have anything to do with Iowa getting upset? Sure they did. Iowa has a win over a Pac 10 team (Arizona). USC gets to play this same Arizona team. Iowa beat them by 10 points in week 3. If USC can win by a wider margin, they can say they beat Arizona by more points than a top 10 ranked Iowa team. Iowa doesn’t play any teams from the SEC or ACC, so they can pile up the wins; while staying away from the better schools in college football.

Let’s face it, the only reason we have so many small schools in the top 10 is to deflect the attention off the USC football program and the way they’re are corrupting the college football system. In years past we had small schools ranked high. They deserved it in years past, because they were blowing teams out by huge margins of victory. Come on people, let’s get the college football rankings fixed and stop this USC program from destroying the game we love so much. We adjust the college football rankings each week, so we can have the best 25 teams in the country ranked at the end of the year. We should have a pretty clear picture on things in November and this is not happening; due to one team that has a weak schedule every year and has to over rank their opponents, to make their resume acceptable for big college bowl games. We are not adjusting these rankings properly week to week and it’s causing problems. Good football teams are not where they’re suppose to be; due to the fact USC and their voters refuse to adjust the rankings.

Our current college football system is responsible for their actions on November 8th; when they did the following:

*Ranked the Cincinnati Bearcats 5th in the Nation with a 2 point victory over the Connecticut Huskies who have a 4-5 record

*Ranked the Boise State Broncos 6th in the Nation with a 10 point victory over the Louisiana Tech Bulldogs who have a 3-6 record

*Ranked the USC Trojans 9th in the Nation with a 5 point victory over the Arizona State Sun Devils who have a 4-5 record

*Ranked the Iowa Hawkeyes 10th in the Nation with a 7 point loss to the Northwestern Wildcats who have a 6-4 record

*Ranked the Oregon Ducks 13th in the Nation with a 9 point loss to the Stanford Cardinal who have a 6-3 record

    BCS Ranking Cheerleaders

Can you see how bad this looks? This is all USC’s mess and what they have done to college football. Kirk Herbstreet and Brent Musberger are telling the voters how to vote on their National Game of the Week on ABC each Saturday Night. It’s right there for everyone to see and they’re telling the voters where to place these teams in the rankings. Kirk Herbstreet is a well-known USC Trojan fan and his ESPN commercials with Pete Carol, who is the head coach for USC, is just too much for this college football fan. The bias votes for USC and the teams associated with them is why we have so many unranked teams getting beat in the first week of November by non ranked teams.

You can just look at this past weekend’s action in college football and see how 5 teams in the top 13 got special treatment for dismal performances. Who is ranked 14th in the BCS Rankings right now? That would be the Miami Hurricanes who played another ACC team in Virginia and beat them 52 to 17. Yes, Virginia is 3 and 6 on the year and they do have a losing record. However, you see what a true top 14 team in the nation can do to a 3 and 6 college football team. The Hurricanes beat the Virginia Cavaliers by 35 points! Boise State who is 6th in the nation beat a 3 and 6 team by only 10 points? At least they got a double digit victory, because the 5th and 9th ranked teams in the country won by single digits! It gets even worse for the Miami Hurricane players, coaches, and fans when they see the 10th and 13th ranked teams not even win on Saturday and they get beat by Northwestern and Standford! Are you kidding me?

If you adjusted these rankings properly week to week, you would award a team a 35 point victory ahead of teams that get beat by Stanford and Northwestern; not to mention the teams that are winning by single digits. The only reason why we see ridiculous stats like these is to make the world a better place for the USC football team. Give us a true ranking system and it will be rare to see a non-ranked college football team beat a ranked college football team in November!

  • Our holiday of October 31st is gone and we will have to wait another year for Halloween to arrive again. People living in Cleveland are having an extended spooky season in their city. A man living in Cleveland was apparently playing host to a lot of women’s corpses in his home and around his home. The authorities are still searching for bodies at this man’s home in Cleveland, Ohio. It sounds like something right out of the movies, but this is no movie in Ohio. The man who lives at this house does have a criminal history with violence against women. His past criminal activity would suggest he is the culprit in this grizzly scene in Cleveland. As of right now it’s looking like there might be as many as 10 bodies and most of these appear to be women and they all may be females.

I’m sure this story isn’t going to go away anytime soon and I see a movie of the week in the future for this neighborhood in Cleveland. The people living in Cleveland are in no danger and there is not a serial killer running around. The police did serve a warrant on 50 year old Anthony Sowell and he’s being held in custody now. According to 19 Action News in Cleveland there are 6 bodies that have been recovered from the home and all are women and all are African American women. Another news agency in Cleveland WKYC.com has been interviewing a criminal profilist and believes that Anthony Sowell may be responsible for other bodies across the country. How far Sowell’s presence in Cleveland and in the state of Ohio goes right now is not clear. The scene at his home alone is enough to make people sick and wonder how someone could do this to so many different people.

It seems Halloween is not really a holiday we celebrate for 24 hours. We may spend days getting ready for Halloween with costume shopping, decorations, baking goods, and buying all of that candy. I figure Halloween is actually a 2 hour holiday we spend each year. If you take into consideration that most parents take their kids trick-or-treating one hour before it gets dark and spend 1 hour after dark going door to door looking for candy; then the whole Halloween festivities last for about 2 hours in most cases. Those that like to watch scary movies or go to Halloween carnivals get a lot more out of the holiday.

This year Halloween will fall on a Saturday. This is great for everyone and especially the kids that want to stay out late trick-or-treating or just rolling someone’s yard in toilet paper. I do enjoy getting out on November 1st and seeing the different houses that got rolled over night. Some home owners actually encourage some kids to roll their yards, so their house can be the one with the extra toilet paper on November 1st. There is an art form to rolling someone’s house in toilet paper. You need a few bigger kids or some guys that play sports. If one of your friends is a pitcher on his baseball team or the quarterback for the local high school football team, then you got a good friend for rolling yards. Someone with a strong arm can launch the toilet paper high into the trees and this looks good the next morning; when the sun comes up. Just remember you need to undo some of the paper, cause it can be a little sticky getting the paper to roll off the roll for the first time. Once you get the toilet paper where it will roll off real easy, that’s when you want to hand it to the quarterback or baseball pitcher in the crowd and let him throw it high in a big tree.

If you get people that can’t really launch the toilet paper; then you will have a rolling job like the one in the picture. See how the tops of the trees are left untouched? This is because you had kids with weak arms or a lot of girls doing this toilet paper rolling job. You can prevent this by getting that guy with the super strong arm to launch a few rolls for you. The lower limbs need to be covered too, but make sure you get a couple of rolls high up in the tree, so you can still see some toilet paper around Thanksgiving. If you can still see toilet paper when you sit down to eat turkey and dressing; then you did a good job with your TP rolling efforts. Always keep safety in mind for your Halloween toilet paper rolling jobs and everyone can wake up the next morning with a good laugh from your hard Halloween night efforts. Do you have any other great Halloween pranks? Please reply with your best Halloween pranks or a memorable TP job you did to a friend, neighbor, boss, or school teacher.
