Simple things are worth blogging about

The best tip or advice I can give to my fellow bloggers and other webmasters on search engine optimization or SEO; is to NOT spend any money for SEO tips or SEO company claiming they can help you. Why? It’s real simple, the reason is because they don’t know what they’re talking about. No one knows the secret formula to Google and that’s the main search engine everyone wants great results with. There is enough free information floating around now; that can help you get started, if you’re completely new to the SEO game.
A company that claims they know Google’s secret formula or other search engine formulas are not being truthful. The SEO company that claim they can get you indexed and ranked on the first page for 500, 1000, or 2000 different search engines. These companies aren’t being truthful either. First of all, there is the 3 main search engines and then about a dozen other search engines that do a nice amount of traffic and searches each day. Once you get past the top 15 or so search engines, things really drop off. You might can find 15 more search engines that are descent in your opinion, but you would be stretching it a little. I think most would be hard-pressed to find 30 search engines online, you could count on for daily traffic. No way is there 100′s of other search engines that need your website indexed on them. I would be skeptical with any SEO company that was promising good results with 30 or more search engines.
Your main focus is and should be the Big 3 in search engines. The Big 3 of search engines for most webmasters are Google, Yahoo, and MSN (Bing Now). Outside of those 3 Internet giants, you really take a big drop in the amount of people that usually rely on their online searches. A few like Ask.com, Dogpile.com, AltaVista.com, Excite.com, HotBot.com, and AolSearch.com aren’t bad and it’s nice to have your website indexed and ranked high on the first page with them. I could name a few more that are pretty good search engines too and get people online to perform 1000′s of daily searches. Just remember no one really cares about the smaller search engine websites and anything past 30 is pretty much worthless. There are some SEO strategies that involve getting your website indexed on as many search engines as possible, but the SEO companies usually don’t work the strategy angle I am referring to. They tell their customers direct traffic will come from these smaller search engines and that just isn’t true. Although possible and not totally out of the question, but the odds begin to weaken so much, it could be compared with a state lottery.
If you’re new and looking for SEO tips and advice. My best advice is to not pay for any SEO advice. Use your money to help buy advertising online and text links on other people’s websites. At least your money will be going directly to help your search engine chances for better online rankings; than just wasting it on SEO tips. Daily traffic and getting as many links as you can pointed at your website, is the 2 best things a new webmaster can do for their website. These 2 things will get you indexed in the search engines and it will also help you to move up the rankings for search terms that are related to your website’s content.
