Simple things are worth blogging about

The Balloon Boy we know as Falcon continues to shine with his 15 minutes of fame. This may not be the fame the parents of Falcon wanted, but they sure made a splash in the American and World media outlets. It is an unusual story and one that deserves all the press it is getting.
Some of us just go through the motions in life and never get outside the lines of normalcy. It can be refreshing to see someone break the mold ever now and then; if we choose to look at it that way. I applaud the effort in Denver, Colorado, but realize that it was a pretty dumb stunt too.
The parents are lucky that no one was hurt in the search for little Falcon. If an injury or death would have took place during this time, the criminal charges could have been far worse than anyone could have ever imagined. The parents aren’t out of the woods yet for the balloon hoax and they still could face jail time or lose their kids for a period of time. I’m sure America will continue to follow this story to see how it ends in Denver, Colorado.
I have seen where experts say that this balloon could not have lifted a 37 pound boy. That surprises me and is shocking news from my experiences with helium balloons. If you have ever held one of those giant helium balloons, you know they have a little power to them. One of those seems capable of lifting a small child or animal off the ground for a few feet. Looking at the size of this big helium balloon in Denver, it would appear that would be big enough to lift a grown man off the ground and no problem for a boy named Falcon, that only weighs 37 pounds. I trust the experts know what they are talking about, but I found this part of the story fascinating.
