A recent article on Yahoo showed that universal remote controls still sold well during our recent recession. I guess this is proof that people will watch television in good times or in bad times. It is pretty cheap to watch TV; when you compare it to the price of a movie ticket. Since our factory remote controls only last for a year or so and the television sets work long after the remotes breakdown, you can see why remote controls are a good seller.

These handy universal remotes are simple to use. You just need to program them first, before they will work with your specific TV. Be sure before you buy one, that you check to see if it will operate your brand of television. Each brand will have their own special code and some of the bigger brands of televisions will have multiple codes to choose from. Your remote may not work with the first code you try, so keeping programming in all the ones you see for your brand of television. One of them is suppose to operate your TV, so if you tried all the codes and it still doesn’t work. Go back and reread the directions and try programming in the codes again. You don’t need to bother with the codes for other TV brands. Just focus on the code for your television and you will eventually get your universal remote control working on your TV.

They are electronic stores that carry these remotes and you can probably find them selling at your local supermarket or at a drug store. You can go to Buy.com to find universal remotes for sale online.  They usually have a good sale going on and you can probably buy them cheaper on the computer. Buying one of these handy remotes will be much better than getting up each time to turn the TV to a new channel, so don’t watch television without a remote control.
