While 80% of most families will not have a problem with this modern measure the school systems are taking, it’s the other 20% I have concerns for. School systems can’t expect all families to be able to afford computers for their children. The schools are causing for students to be isolated, who don’t have a computer at home they can go home and surf the Net on. For the kids who do have access to home computers, they learn a lot more faster from computers; than the other kids who don’t have a computer at home.

I know in the perfect world, we would have a Mom or a Dad who comes home each evening from work and would spend hours and hours with their children on the computer. They would teach them how to type and how to navigate the Web by using online search engines. Yes, this would be a world we could all dream about living in one day. The problem we have now, is this perfect world doesn’t exist. Some parents both work full-time jobs or we have a single parent trying to raise more than 1 kid at home. When schools ask for parents to buy their kids computers and want them to pay for a monthly Internet bill; then that is not showing proper respect to these hard-working parents. In many cases, these families are struggling to just provide the basics like clothing, shelter, and food. It is ridiculous for any school to send homework out and the only way to get it properly done, is by using a computer at home.

Why Don’t Schools Buy Computers for All Students?

So why don’t schools just buy a computer for every student? They don’t have to take them home, just home enough computers to go around for each and every student. Oh, I know what the answer to this one is. Schools can not a buy a computer for every student, because this would cost too much money. Well doesn’t that sound familiar. Schools don’t have the funds to give every child in their school systems computers and this is true for parents too. They don’t have enough money to provide a computer, Internet service, and any other costs related to maintaining a working computer at home. If schools can’t afford a computers for all students; then why in the world would they ask parents to do this? School systems just don’t respect the working family and don’t care about the 20% percent of children who can’t afford a home computer. They just want to improve test scores and provide the best education possible to 80% of their students and they don’t care to let the other 20% of students without a home computer to fall through the cracks. Education in this country will never get better unless we give the same opportunities to 100% of our kids in school.

When we hear stories about a person killing somebody by drinking and driving or hear about a senseless murder where a kid with a bad past and labeled as a trouble kid; just goes out and abruptly ends the life of a straight A student or one who was almost a college graduate. This is because school systems and school teaches allowed for these students to slip between the crack and gave too much attention to the smarter or wealthier kids in class. Our troubles with violence in this country can go back to the education system in most cases and the number of smart and wealthy kids are a lot lower than 20 percent and it’s the 20 percent number of students, who don’t have access to the Net at home. Let’s end this deadly sense of poor educational focus and let’s get back to treating our students equal across the board.

Not all computer jobs are located inside a comfortable office building with air conditioning. I’m sure those that go to school for computer training, so they can get computer jobs, probably have this image in their head. If you ever go to an auto shop where they work on cars, y0u will see these conditions are much different; than a cozy office with the nice view from the window. I doubt the keyboards ever last too long in the car garages, but these hard-working mechanics do find good ways to secure their computers. In some cases, they might even be bolted down, so no monitors or towers have to hit the hard concrete floors; which would instantly destroy a computer. All companies have to do something to provide protection for their computers. The guys at the garage really have to protect their computers; much like women protecting their weight on the scales.

I really love to visit websites, where they are ranking certain groups or people in a certain order. You see this in sports a lot and especially at the professional level. I know for people living in America, we always think about the Asian countries being smarter than us. Especially when it comes to China and Japan and how their mathematics are so much higher than ours. I have always heard about the janitors in China knowing how to do calculus; which was a result of their educational levels in math. Well to my surprise, I saw a rankings online recently with colleges and it featured colleges from all over the world and their level of math skills. Believe it or not, the prestigious Harvard College was 3rd on the list. There was actually 2 American colleges that were ranked higher than Harvard. Can you guess which two they were? Six American colleges made up the top 10 in math; while the U.K. and France both had two colleges in the top 10. You have to go down to number 22 on the list to see a 4th country (Russia) and it’s not a Chinese or Japanese college either. In fact, Japan was the top college over China on the list and their college for mathematics was ranked 33rd overall. China got their name on the list in the 51-76 grouping. There will come a time for every homeowner to redo certain rooms in their house. The most common rooms we like to do full-makeovers on, is our kitchen and bathrooms. This way the 2nd bathroom makeover can benefit from all the mistakes and things you learned on the first makeover.

Our 12th grade year in high school is the last formal education most people will ever get in life. While there are a certain percentage each year that will go to the college level, the majority of students end their education after high school. We should continue to educate ourselves all through life. You never know what piece of information you will learn in life; which can lead to a good job or a promising career. Most of us do have a passion for a few hobbies, but never take them past the weekend levels.

If you will strive to learn more about your weekend activities or the hobbies you have an interest in, you will see there is a world of paying jobs out there for the things we like to do. There are too many people stuck in jobs or a daily routine in life, in which they do not enjoy. A lot of these people are jealous of those who get to earn money for doing the things they love to do in life. You can be one of those who enjoys what you do for a living. It’s all about education and taking the steps to prepare yourself properly, so you will be ready when a job does present itself to you. We never know what the future holds and can only prepare for a uncertain future. Don’t let your education end at the 12th grade level in high school. There is so many other worlds that exist out there for all of us and we can only take advantage of these worlds, if we prepare our self with the proper tools and education.

Don’t be afraid to choose a path in life and then decide you want to make a change later on. Do as much as you can to learn as many different fields in life that interest you, so you will be given yourself the most odds down the road, for finding a career that pays well and you enjoy doing. Only the people who make sacrifices at a young age and never strive to accept changes, are the ones who tend to find their selves stuck in a job or industry in which they do not enjoy. Life is fully of joys, if you just know how to grab them along the way. It all starts with educational and training programs. You can adapt as you move further along in each industry or field you think would be right for you. We only get one life to live, so make the best of yours today!

I have to admit, I have never purchased an advertisement on television before. I would love to have the money, so I could buy a 30 second spot on TV. I’m not sure which one of my programs I would want to promote on a 30 second TV commercial, but would like to see the response I could get.

Since I haven’t advertised on television (yet), I have no idea what the cost would be. I do know the 30 second TV commercials for the Super Bowl can cost 1 million dollars or more. I certainly won’t ever be advertising to the huge crowds that watch the biggest football game of the year, but I wonder what the prices are for other times of the day and year. A prime time commercial would be nice on one of the common network stations like ABC, CBS, or NBC. I think an 8 pm to 11 pm commercial would probably be $50,000 or more. So prime time is out for me, but perhaps I could sneak in during the wee hours of the morning on one of the less popular cable channels, like the Food Channel, Discovery Channel, History Channel, or a channel of that magnitude. You usually see a lot of infomercials on during these late night and early morning hours, so it must be some what affordable to some.

I don’t even know why some people pay for TV commercials. It obviously costs a lot to be on television these days. It would only make sense, for you to put your best marketing and advertising minds on a big promotional ad like this. If TV is king of the hill in advertising and it costs a lot to be on TV, why not make your commercial good or entertaining? Some TV commercials are very boring or really make little sense. I’m not talking about 2 or 3 specific commercials. I’m talking about dozens I see each day are just really bad and I can’t understand why a company or an individual would just waste money like that. If you plan to make a TV commercial in the future, please make it worth watching. The DVR is just going to become more popular, if these advertisers just keep putting out poor TV ads in between our daily and night time programs.

There aren’t too many places where you can take the family on vacation or for a weekend getaway, where everyone in the family can enjoy it. This is what makes a Branson Missouri vacation so much different from any other travel destinations. I guess this is one of the newer attractions in Branson and I would love to take a tour through this massive ship, that is located in the heart of America. There are other museums you can look forward to visiting, while in Branson, like the Roy Rogers and Dale Evans Museum and the Veterans Memorial Museum. The thrill rides, activities for kids, museums, and shows are just a small sample of all the great things you can take part in, if you and your family make Branson, Missouri your choice for the next family vacation.

Well the entertainment world has been shook up a little in recent months. News about one of the most popular shows on television has been causing a big stir. Fans seem to be upset with a lot of the new Idol changes as they prepare to unleash a new crew of American Idol Judges. It doesn’t look like Elton John or Howard Stern will be joining the judging panel. That’s too bad, because I think Howard Stern would be a good, funny, and interesting judge. While Sir Elton would be bringing a music legend to the panel; which the popular TV show has never had before. At least in the Elton John range of legends.

The new judges fans can look forward to seeing for the 10th year of the show’s running, will be Randy Jackson, Jennifer Lopez, and Steven Tyler. There will be no Simon on American Idol anymore and this should be interesting to see if the show can survive without Simon. Nobody really likes the Idol Judge Simon Cowell that much, but he was a staple for the show and apparently greed and him wanting ridiculous money is why he will no longer be a judge for one of the most popular TV shows in the 21st century. Americans will now have a long wait and a chance to weigh in with the new Idol Judges and how they think they will do, before the show begins its 10th season on prime time TV. What do you think about Lopez, Tyler, and Jackson as the new American Idol Judges?

One of the easiest ways to apply Feng Shui in the home, is by the use of careful lighting. Red light in a room brings fame, pink lights in the bedroom increase romance in your life. Soft lamp shades (e.g. made from paper and cloth) make the light softer and create a quiet atmosphere. Lamps with Metal light shades create an active atmosphere. Where cooking or reading is done, make sure that there are no shadows, no shadow must ever fall on food that is being prepared or on material that is being read.

There is an enormous amount of information about Feng Shui and lighting on the internet. I am not sure how true all of it is, but I enjoy experimenting with some of the ideas and feel that it is true that since we have replaced the light bulbs in our house with pink bulbs, there has been a more relaxed atmosphere. Apparently restaurants and hospitals often use pink light bulbs, which although they do not obviously throw out pink light, cause a decrease in stress and also make the color of our skins look better.

Next thing for us is to try purple light shades in the office, to see if it will increase our wealth.
