Atlanta Bans Nascar Racing

Atlanta Motor Speedway

In a shocking display from the people who make up and run the sport of Nascar, they are taking away the spring races in Atlanta, Georgia. In a move to create a race date in Kentucky, the sport of Nacar has turned its back on the state that lies in the middle of Nascar country. In terms of land size, the state of Georgia is larger than any other U.S. state; which is located east of the Mississippi River. I guess NASCAR didn’t take the growth factor of the state’s population size in to account, when they decided to pull 1 of its two race dates in Atlanta, Georgia.

Popular movies about racing or just running moonshine in the South like the popular series of Smokey and the Bandit movies, all owe a little place in their heart to the Atlanta Motor Speedway for its contributions to Hollywood over the years.

Kenny Roger’s movie Six Pack and a resident of Georgia knows the value of the Nascar track located just south of Atlanta, Georgia. Residents in Georgia have taken great pride in their state’s reputation; which Atlanta Motor Speedway played a big role. Those classic movies like Six Pack and the Smokey & the Bandit movie with Burt Reynolds have represented a form of southern hospitality. Atlanta was there for Nascar; when the sport needed them. Now as the sport has grown in popularity, the current guys running Nascar sports have blindly turned away from the racing fans in Georgia.

All the rich history of Nascar racing in Georgia is no longer needed. At least this is the way Mike Helton, who is the President of Nascar sees it. This was a Helton led decision, to pull Nascar racing away from the Peach State of Georgia. By pulling the spring race from Nascar fans in Georgia and centrally located to the South, has decided the poor-economic state of Kentucky is where Nascar can flourish next. Well that is great news for the state of Kentucky, but you have spit on the families in Georgia who pushed your sport into the 21st century.

Nascar was not around and no where to be found, when a tornado struck the Speedway in Hampton, Georgia just a few years back. The residents of Georgia paid the bill, so the tornado couldn’t stop Nascar from performing on its stage in Atlanta, Georgia. The tax payers of Georgia should now be reimbursed for their contributions to Nascar, since Nascar has left Atlanta. The racing fans in Georgia only got 2 races each year to show their support and boy did they! More money went to Nascar from the pockets of sports fans in Georgia; than went into the pockets of the Atlanta Hawks, Atlanta Braves, and the Atlanta Falcons combined! These 3 sport’s teams get about 130 combined home games each year, for the fans to spend their hard-working dollars on. If you figured the Braves get 81 home games, the Hawks get 41 home games, and the NFL franchise Atlanta Falcons get 8 home games per year; the sport of Nascar still beat all 3 of these teams combined in total revenue generated, from only 2 races in Atlanta each year.

It wasn’t too long ago, when every fan, driver, and Nascar owner couldn’t wait for the fall race in Atlanta. This was because Atlanta was traditionally the last race on the Nascar season. There have been many Nascar champions crowned in Atlanta and many who secured their championships at the Atlanta Motor Speedway, on that very special Sunday afternoon in Atlanta, Georgia. Mike Helton or some Nascar executive suddenly decided Atlanta wasn’t the best place for the last race of the year and took that away. Now once again, the fans in Atlanta are facing another decision from Nascar to pull one more step away from the sport of Nascar racing in Georgia.

Well Nascar doesn’t need to do nothing else and now they can’t pull away from Georgia any longer. That’s because Georgia is now officially not recognizing the sport of professional auto racing that goes under the name of Nascar. The fertile racing track that lies in the heart of Nascar country, is pulling the plug on the sport and no one in Georgia is claiming any association to Nascar racing and their drivers.

Awesome Bill from Dawsonville, better known as Bill Elliot, was the first winner of the Nascar million dollar chase. Only Jeff Gordon has been the only other driver to do this and no one since. The deep racing roots of Bill Elliot and his contribution to the sport of Nascar, all went down the drain in 2010. As a result, from the decision to pull a race from the fans and residents of Georgia.

Any other states who would like a race in their state, feel free to take the fall race from Atlanta too. The fans in Georgia are not accepting Nacasr as a professional sport any longer. Georgia can supply their own professional racing and can work on resowing the roots; which modern Nascar has destroyed, in a move to cash in on a southern tradition and taking the sport to places where it doesn’t belong. The New York Yankees are who they’re, because they play in New York. A traveling road show for them would not work like the Harlem Globetrotters have perfected. The same is true for Nascar racing. It’s a southern sport with southern traditions and people who want to get the real experience of southern racing; needs to visit a southern state. Going to California or Chicago to watch a Nascar event, is nothing like a racing party in Georgia, Alabama, or Florida. The fans outside of the south don’t get it, but are willing to spend money on a manufactured product of the traveling circus; which Mike Helton and others have now created.

Nascar isn’t American, it’s Southern! The 2010 officials in Nascar or associated with the sport of auto racing doesn’t quite understand what that means. No discrimination is meant by the sport being a southern tradition. It’s just that people who know, are the ones who know and others outside will never know. For Nascar fans in Georgia, Alabama, Florida, and the Carolinas; this could have easily been a race taken away from you guys too. Please stand up and show your support with your bordering Nascar state Georgia, so we can prevent other races from leaving the South. If enough Nascar fans will turn their back on the sport in 2011; we can get our race given back to us in Georgia and prevent other cash-hungry executives from making poor decisions, about this great geographical sport we know as Nascar.

Look out Kentucky Derby, the Nascar sport is on the hunt for your spring dollars in the Blue Grass State. Horse racing belongs to Kentucky and auto racing belongs to Georgia.

  • Planning a Move to the Big Apple

Are you or someone you know Moving To New York? I’m sure a lot of Americans would like to live in New York, so they could experience life in one of the most popular U.S. states. People who are moving to America from another country, would probably list N.Y. as their first choice to live and work. It wouldn’t seem like there is any more New York real estate to go around and would be tough for a new home owner. I guess this is just the views of an outsider and one that views everyone calling New York City their choice for home. I’m sure in up state New York there is plenty of land to go around and a lot of people would find living space there for them and their family.

For most Americans, going to see the Statue of Liberty is a tradition or something every American needs to do at least once in their life. I haven’t seen Lady Liberty up close and in person, so I would certainly have that on my list of “to do things” before I die or the bucket list. People who are coming from other countries and especially the 3rd world countries, would be in for a big surprise, when they decide to become New York Movers. For them, they would view the Statue of Liberty in a whole new way. Both ways would be in the honor of freedom, but probably more special to a non-American, who may be living in conditions right now, where there freedom is limited.

The New York International Movers would be there for foreign citizens who are planning to make a move to the Big Apple state. Just like all of the other local New York Moving Companies that are ready to assist and help Americans make the move to NY. For anyone who was going to move close to the City, would really need a professional moving company, so they could trust their precious travel items would arrive at the right location. Trying to move everything you own and treasure in life to your new home in N.Y., would be too much stress for any traveler to handle. So do you still want to call New York home? Be sure to get one of their moving companies to help you and your family arrive safely and intact; to the most well-known state out of the 50 America has to offer.

  • I was wondering which state you would want to live in, if you wanted to find the best possible insurance rates. I don’t know how my own state’s health insurance matches up with the other states. What could someone living in N.C. expect to pay for North Carolina health insurance? I think this could prove to be big for any state, that could boast their health insurance plans are the lowest in the country. As we get older, we will all need some form of health insurance in our golden years. Choosing a state that charges the less each month for health insurance, would seem like the perfect place for people to live, after they retire from their current place of employment. I believe everyone should have health insurance; with the skyrocketing costs for medicine these days. We may be living longer, but our wallets and pocketbooks are paying for that longer life span.

  • Dong Feng 21D Missile Eyes U.S. Naval Ships

There are ships the USA has in their military arsenal and then THERE ARE SHIPS THE USA HAS IN THEIR MILITARY FLEET. If you go on the latter part of U.S. ships traveling the World’s oceans, you don’t have to look no further than the USS George Washington; which is in a class of its own. Able to carry more than 6,000 sailors, crewmen, pilots, and other military personnel is just the starting point. This super carrier can also hold up to 70 airplanes and is routinely carrying about 4 million pounds of bombs and other explosives on board; which can be delivered in a variety of ways. Not to mention all of the other military ships and under water submarines, that would be traveling along the side the USS George Washington; if she was ever used in a offensive strike or having to defend from the forces of a brave enemy. This supercarrier is a permanent fixture in the Asian-Pacific Ocean and is normally docked on the shores of Japan.

In a recent military exercise with the country of Vietnam, the USS George Washington left its docks in Japan and participated in the friendly military maneuvers with the Vietnamese Army. This move by the U.S. to use the super carrier for such an action has raised a few eyebrows around the world and no one seems more concerned than the Chinese Government.

China is now going public about a missile they have in their arsenal; which is capable of taking down a super carrier like the USS George Washington. This Dong Feng 21D Missile is said to be very accurate and can bring down a U.S. Carrier from as far away as 900 miles. This latest announcement is a clear sign that the Chinese Government and their military officials do not want the George Washington hanging around their waters. It’s still uncertain if the guidance system on board this new Chinese Missile would be accurate enough from such a long range, but even if it were, would they really want to fire a shot at the USS George Washington?

    USS George Washington Super Carrier

Taking a shot at this ship would be like taking a shot at an American city. Since this super carrier is so large and is like a floating city in the Pacific Ocean. The U.S. has called China bluffs and their carrier did perform military duties with the Vietnam forces. The United States do have allies in the region with the Philippines, South Korea, Japan, and Vietnam. All of these countries are sending the homeland of China a clear message, about their attempts to control the entire South China Sea.

Just this past weekend, there were many naval ships from China that was shadowing the USS George Washington from a long distance. Especially along the border of Vietnam; which is in the South China Sea. This region of the sea is being highly disputed now and we can’t forget China’s desire to reclaim Taiwan at some point. It was President Bill Clinton who signed a Peace Treaty with Taiwan in which the USA would help to defend them; if China or any other foreign invader tried to take over the tiny island known as Taiwan.

If China ever does make the call to shoot off one of these high-tech weapons at a U.S. ship, the Chinese people might have a little trouble in communicating with the rest of their armies. The USA would quickly deploy a communications break-up all over the country of China and would make it very difficult for the Chinese Government and their military commanders to proceed with any other steps in a USA/China war. They would have very little luck with communications outside the Chinese borders, but would likely face the same communication failures inside the country too. Advanced U.S. weapons are now designed to break up communication signals on a foreign soil or to any nation they consider to be hostile.

The George Washington doesn’t appear to be leaving the area anytime soon and just how many other carriers and U.S. military supplies are now on their way to this region is something we all want to know. We may now be looking at the beginnings of a major U.S. build up in the Asian-Pacific Ocean; if China doesn’t begin to back down from their threats and their own military build-up in the Southern China Seas.

  • When we get in these bad weather situations, we want to make sure we stock up on as many relief supplies as possible. A little extra fresh water, dry clothing, and some food; which will stay fresh for a long time, are just some of the things every person needs in their emergency supply kits. Keeping 2 or more flashlights on hand isn’t a bad idea either. Typically when bad storms blow up in a certain area, the electricity will go down. If your supply kit contains a flashlight; along with some extra batteries, you will be ahead of the game. Mother Nature can unleash her fury at any time, so its really important to always keep these kits nearby. If you have any extra flashlights on hand, be sure to carry them along with you too. Just in case your original flash light doesn’t work properly.

    Flashlights Under $2 Each

Here is a super sale for flashlights online at Buy.com. I would rather own 6 different flash lights; than to rely on just one flashlight for an emergency situation. Online shoppers can pick up all 6 flashlights online with one very low price. You would spend a lot of money, if you chose to buy all six of these separately. Now you can buy them in a package deal and have plenty of lights available, in case your lights do go out in the near future.

I know my household has 1 or 2 flashlights to use in case of an emergency. I just hope the batteries currently in them are operational and can be ones we can count on, if our electricity does decide to go out for an extended period of time.

I live in North Georgia and clearly remember the blizzard of 93′ in which a lot of people living up and down the Eastern Seaboard lost their power. My household was miserable during this time and it would take 2 weeks; until our power was fully restored.

What troubles and worries did you have during the 1993 blizzard; which crippled much of the East in the United States? Would a $2 flashlight have helped, if you did have one with brand new batteries in it? I know lighting was just one of the terrible things most of us had to endure, with this freaky, early 1990′s snow storm. A blizzard in the middle of March should be a wake up call to us all, that our climate is changing fast and we need to be prepared. I think we can start, by having a big supply of flashlights with batteries that work. Our tornado season is now officially gone, but now we have the hurricanes this fall to worry about.

  • One cost-effective way to ride the beautiful waves in the ocean is to own a sailboat and have the sails set. I’m not sure what sail boats do when they have little to no winds blowing. I guess some sailboats are equipped for situations like these. They may include an engine or some other force on board; which allows them to continue on their way; while they navigate the high seas.

These sailboats do save a lot of money on gas. They are wind-powered, so it doesn’t take fuel to keep them moving on the high seas. I would like to go on a sailboat someday, but I have very few boating skills; not to mention no sailing skills for this want-to-be sailor.

Do you own a sailboat? Perhaps you have ridden on a sail boat and would like to share your experiences from these beautiful ships. I know I would not want to get too far away from the shoreline, in case I did need to swim for the closest sandy beach. I do like to watch several of these sailboats gliding across the water; when the wind is just right. Most operators can change their sail’s directions if too much wind is blowing. I just wonder what happens when there is no wind around to be found.

  • The Blue Sky Scrubs Collection

Your one stop shopping spot online for all of the latest and most up-to-date looking scrubs the Net has to offer. A wide assortment of styles and colors are available to online shoppers at Blue Sky.

    The Scrubs @ Blue Sky

Most doctor offices and hospitals always do such a nice job with clothing their employees, so they are neat, professional looking, and easy to distinguish as employees. These medical uniforms are very important in the medical practice. I don’t think a hospital could run very efficiently, if they allowed all of their employees to choose their own clothes to wear to work each day. They would look like the visitors or people being treated at the hospital and a lot of confusion would probably take place each day.

From time to time on the TV show, we see their assistants wearing nursing scrubs or other clothing we recognize as medical uniforms. In the case with Doctor Jim Sears from the Doctors TV Show, we see him sporting a lab coat and most of us have seen our own doctors wearing this at their place of practice.

  • The Arcade Fire’s new album

Guest post written by Kim Eller

Almost all the items on my RSS feed have to do with music. But that would be no surprise to any friends or acquaintances because I use most of my free time going to concerts or keeping up with upcoming releases from my favorite bands.

One album that I’m especially excited about is the Arcade Fire’s “Suburbs.” Despite the band’s best efforts, the album – like virtually every other album today – has been leaked online before its official release. I hate to admit it, but I have listened to a couple of its songs streamed on YouTube videos, and they sound amazing! I’m still not sure if they’re as amazing as “Wake Up” – the song on the commercials for “Where The Wild Things Are” movie – but they sound quite fantastic.

I’ve already pre-ordered the CD through my wild blue internet service and have prowled almost every music blog imaginable to get critics’ takes on the Montreal-based band’s CD.

I still haven’t seen the band perform though. I missed out on going with a friend to a free rally the band played to encourage voters to register, and regret it more each time I listen to one of their songs.

  • How has the search engines been treating you? I have felt blessed with various links from this blog and other blogs of mine, getting a lot of high placements in the search engines. I don’t have any patterns or special tips from an SEO company, for my achievements in the search engine game. I pretty much just stay active and try to provide the best quality of content possible. Adding new content frequently and content that has some substance has worked well for me lately. This wasn’t always the case and a few years ago, I had a hard time working my way up the search engine ladders.

A new webmaster wants or expects instant success with their links, anchor texts, or keywords ranked high in the major search engines. Don’t expect to catch lightning in a bottle with your first blog post or your first week with a brand new website. It takes the search engine bots time to recognize your newly created website online and just getting indexed is the first step. Depending on how common your niche or topic is; will depend on where your new website gets placed to begin with. Don’t expect miracles on day 1, week 1, or even in your first month. These things can take time and sometimes it’s months for a new website to earn it’s true rankings in the various online search engines.

Driving traffic to your new website or exchanging links with fellow webmasters is not what the new webmasters of the world need to focus on. These are steps you can do later on in your goals to be listed on the first page or to have an overall top spot for a certain keyword or key phrase. I would only concern myself with new and original content for the first few weeks. Create a little substance to your website, before you try to lure extra traffic your way.

No one knows for sure what search engine does what and which things they focus on the most. All of the tips and online advice gets passed around so much, that if too many people use these tips, the search engines will make corrections. So try to create your own path to search engine success. Avoid spending money on an SEO company that promises to have your website listed on the first page in one week or less. They may be able to do this in some cases, but getting on the first page is not that hard of a task. Staying on top or keeping your website listed on the first page is the hard part and no SEO company or search engine optimization service will be able to do this for you. It will depend on the quality of the content on each website; which will ultimately decide on who stays or who goes.

Please feel free to share your success stories. Let me know which anchor text or keywords you worked with and was able to land on the first page at Google, Yahoo, MSN (Bing), or some other well known search engine. There is really only 3 major search engines and the others aren’t really that big of a deal, when it comes to getting indexed and ranked highly on the first page. What methods, tips, or steps did you take in order to get a positive reaction from one of the big 3 search engine companies. Do you feel like your listing will stay visible on the first page for Internet users to find your website?

If you have had a negative experience with the search engine game, please share your stories too. We all can’t win in this online game and for every winner out there, we must have a lot of losers in this high tech game. We all can’t be ranked number 1 or even on the first page. Someone has to fill up the spots on the 2nd page or further down. The search engines do their best to provide the best websites first, but sometimes they do make mistakes. Someone who has a better understanding of the SEO game, can do better than a webmaster who provides better content on his or her website. I believe in the long run, quality will always out last the folks who try the quick methods for success online. Just be patient and be sure you are providing your audience with the best possible information you can and the numbers will speak for their self down the road. I wish you luck for today, tomorrow, and in the future for your online goals to work on the World Wide Web.

  • Rain Harvesting a Real Need

No need to worry anyone and run around screaming “the sky is falling, the sky is falling“. However, we do have to be a little more up-to-date in the 21st century with our weather patterns and our climate change issues. It was just 2 years ago; when my capital city of Atlanta, Georgia was on the brink of disaster. You may not have heard about this in your area, but its true! The millions of Georgia residents that call Atlanta home was only 3 months away from running out of water. The two big lakes in our area (Allatoona Lake and Lake Lanier) were running dry and there was no rain in sight. It was a big panic in my state and it set off a big water battle that continues today with our border states of Alabama and Florida. We could not supply these states with water; since our own state was needing the precious supply of our fresh water reserves. This was all due to a major drought and no one in Georgia was practicing any rain harvesting methods. If no rain would have fell for the next 12 weeks, some of the most populous places in Georgia would be left bone dry.

Luckily the rains did eventually come and it began to fill up our streams, rivers, lakes, and other areas that are use to holding water supplies. This drought taught everyone in Georgia just how precious water is to us. The local news outlets in Georgia began to promote something most people in my state was not aware of and this includes me too. The process of catching and retaining rain with the use of rain barrels. These barrels can be placed around the home and help save some of the wet stuff; when we do get a nice summer time shower.

Just about every home has a corner or a place around the home where a lot of rain falls from. You can take a rain water barrel and strategically place them around the home to catch rain. Home owners can use these barrels of rain to help water their gardens, wash their cars, and other things like that. It may not sound like much, but when 1 or 2 homes in each neighborhood practice this rain harvesting procedure, it really starts to add up across the board. A garden that gets watered during a long period of rainless days, will continue to grow well and thrive. Keeping a small garden wet and producing, helps to keep that ground moist. When a rain shower does come, that ground around a home garden will not soak up as much of the rain and will be a little extra run-off for our water tributaries to collect. Just this example alone can add gallons and gallons of rain water to our area lakes; if enough people are saving rain in these barrels. Washing your car with rain that has been saved by barrels, also cuts down on the amount of water a community is using up in the hot weather months.

All of these small water-saving methods can help an area endure a drought much longer; if just a few home owners practice this new-age method. It’s easy to see how a small town or even a large city could prevent running out of water, if more people would just try and store the rains from Mother Nature more often. It was just a couple of years ago; when the worse drought ever hit my state. I hope more people will look for these rain barrels for sale and practice some form of rain harvesting. Record heat this summer already has our creeks and rivers running extremely low this year and we could easily be in a drought later this fall. Our climate is changing fast and we must keep up, if we plan to live and thrive like we have for the last 200+ years!

    NFL Football Cards at Buy.com

The new season of professional football is almost here. The new NFL season will be kicking off in less than 2 months. Most NFL teams will start their preseason games in the next 10 days or so. The NFL Preseason lasts for about 4 weeks or 4 games for each team. After these 4 preseason games are played, it will be the real thing, as 32 teams will be trying to play their way to the 2011 Super Bowl.

I know there is a lot of fans excited about the new NFL season that is fast approaching. Will Brett Favre play for the Minnesota Vikings or retire? How will the wide receiver combination (Ochocinco & Owens) in Cincinnati play out? Is Drew Brees and the New Orleans Saints capable of winning back to back Super Bowls? A lot of these NFL questions and more will be heavily discussed this preseason.

One way NFL fans can quench their thirst for some of this hype; that is building up for the upcoming season, is by buying football cards. A lot of football card companies have already printed up their football cards for the 2010/2011 season. All the new rookies from the 2010 spring draft are currently appearing on these new NFL football cards. I personally like the older cards better and  I know of a great way to get your favorite NFL stars with an authentic NFL football cards memorabilia collection. This collection of cards will contain 15 factory sealed packs at less than $2 a pack. That is, if you consider the rest of this trading card collection as free! I haven’t mentioned the best part yet. Each set will contain those 15 packs of football trading cards, but you will also be guaranteed to get a real piece of the NFL game action! This is because these sets will contain a piece of NFL jersey from one of the big NFL stars and this alone is worth the price for this special collectors set. However, there is still more! Believe it or not, each collection sold will also contain an authentic piece of an officially licensed NFL football, along with a matching card and a display holder. You don’t have to buy multiple memorabilia collections to increase your odds of getting a piece of the jersey or NFL football. That’s because every single collection will contain this very rare and authentic jersey from an NFL player, plus a piece of the ball. The display holder itself is an attractive item that also comes along with every collection sold.

So where can I pick up one of these great football collection sets?

These sets are currently on sale; which you can buy online at Buy.com. This website always offers some really low prices on just about everything you can think of to buy online. People who love to collect sports cards, will want to check here on their wish lists for trading cards. I was amazed to see this NFL football card collection and just how cheap it was at Buy.com. Normally you only have a chance to get an authentic piece of a sports jersey and the odds are normally very low. This NFL item at Buy.com promises to offer each football card collector the following:

*15 Factory Sealed Packs of Football Cards from the NFL

*1 Authentic Piece of Game Jersey from an NFL Player

*1 Authentic Piece of a Real NFL Football

    *1 Display Holder

If you buy this for the kids, you might just have to explain how awesome these authentic pieces of jersey and pig skin really are. This football collection of trading cards is something every young NFL fan would love to own. I’m sure there are a lot of adults (like me); who would love to buy a few of these collections and try to get as many of their favorite NFL players as possible. To order a memorabilia football set like this online, would get me more excited for the mailman to arrive; than the excitement I would have for the week 1 kick-off in the 2010/2011 NFL season!

  • My Atlanta Braves Lineup

Bobby Cox is a great manager? Then why hasn’t he ever put his best 8 players on the field at the same time and in the proper batting order? Without doubt, and many thought and considerations going into the starting line-up for the Braves, this is the only way to write out the line up card:

    1. Omar Infante 3B

    2. Martin Prado 2B (currently injured)

    3. Brian McCann C

    4. Matt Diaz LF

    5. Rich Ankiel CF

    6. Jason Heyward RF

    7. Eric Hinske 1B

    8. Alex Gonzalez SS

    9. Starter P

From an offensive standpoint and based on what the guys have done in 2010, this is the proper order for the Atlanta Braves to bat in each Major League Baseball game. Bobby Cox has over focused at times with the lefty/righty match ups and has forced good batters down in the order or to the bench in some cases.

Despite what the Braves announcers have said lately, Omar Infante is not the guy you want poking a ball through the right-side of the infield with the runner being held on at first base. He is a guy that prefers to pull the ball; instead of sprinkling it around. He had some success with going up the middle recently, but I believe his best swing is pulling the ball to the left side of the diamond. Martin Prado is a much better guy to slap the ball down the right side of the infield. So it’s obvious these are the two best hitters and would bat 1st and 2nd in the order.

Chipper Jones doesn’t deserve the 3rd spot based on his poor batting average over the last 1 and a half years. Then factor in his poor swings on pitches that are not strikes, his lack of putting full swings on at-bats, and his poor decisions with 2 strikes on him. He may just be the worse 2 strike guy on the team and clearly gets nervous with 2 strikes on him. I’m sure there are some major league teams who have a scouting report on the Atlanta Braves; where it says to not throw Chipper Jones a strike or anything to hit with a 2 strike count on him. He also has a problem with watching the baseball while running the bases. Fails to hustle on plays and never gets the extra base, like rookie Jason Heyward has shown the ability to do on many occasions this year.

The best hitter on the team for the last two years has been Matt Diaz. Probably the only guy on the team you could actually mention with Albert Pujols, Alex Rodriguez, or Barry Bonds; in terms of a batter that is almost impossible at times to get out. Most baseball fans would laugh at this, but if you can remember when Matt Diaz was given the 1st spot in the batting order last year, for an extended stretch of time. He was the top hitter in the Majors and out-swung everyone during that stretch and should be an everyday player for the Atlanta Braves.

For fear of having a 1,2,3 inning and your lead-off batter in the 2nd inning is your clean up hitter, you would not put Brain McCann in that spot to lead-off an inning. So sliding the most consistent and clutch bat on the team into the number 3 hole makes a lot of sense and letting Diaz be your lead-off hitter in the 2nd inning; if the top 3 guys do go down in order in the first inning.

Since Bobby Cox over focuses on the lefty/righty match-ups, I just assume to stay away from that style of thinking. I would be in favor of Rick Ankiel and his power potential hitting in the clean up role for the Braves and moving Diaz to the 5th spot in the order.

Your 6th spot in the order belongs to a left hander hitter. You could show some flexibility here and bat Jason Heyward or Eric Hinske in this spot. Since Heyward has been on a bit of a hot streak recently, I would go ahead and pencil in the Say Hey Kid in the 6th spot of the batting order. Let Eric Hinske bat in the 7th spot for now. I am fully aware of the Ankiel (5th), Heyward (6th), and Hinske (7th) being a left-handed portion of the line-up; which would make it easy for opposing coaches to send in a lefty in relief situations to face these 3 spots in the order. The fact you would have your best hitters getting the chance to swing the bat more in games, out weighs this advantage you give to other team’s managers. I also feel confident with all 3 of these batters being selective at the plate and wouldn’t mind them facing left hand pitching late in ball games, where the stakes go up tremendously.

Alex Gonzalez has great power numbers and leads the team in homers, if you factor in his numbers at Toronto this year. I hate putting him in the 8th spot of the line up. No team should put their leading power guy in the 8th spot, but Gonzalez in a Braves uniform has struggled. Until he gets comfortable, I do agree with manager Bobby Cox here, who has recently moved Alex Gonzalez to the 8th spot in the order.

Some of the key right-handed batters off the bench would include Troy Glaus, Chipper Jones, Brooks Conrad, and back up catcher David Ross. The key reserves who swing the lumber from the left side of the plate; would include Melky Cabrera, Chipper Jones, Brooks Conrad, and Nate McClouth.

Since Martin Prado is now officially on the 15 day disabled list, you would have to shake up things with him missing from the line up. My Atlanta Braves line up is focused on helping him the most. Replacing him with Chipper Jones or Brooks Conrad is the most obvious choices. I would go with the hotter hitter; which would be Chipper Jones as of right now. This means your current third baseman Omar Infante would move over to 2nd base and allow Jones to play his normal 3rd base position. Or keeping Infante at third base and sliding Conrad in as your 2nd basemen.

If Chipper is playing, he would bat 7th in the order. Everybody else just moves up in the line up and I would have no problems with the Braves great hitting catcher swinging in the two hole and allowing Matt Diaz to hit 3rd in the batting order. This gives Rick Ankiel the clean up duties.

If Conrad is selected to fill the hole left by Prado, I would still just move the guys up in the order and make a nightly determination if I wanted Brooks Conrad or Alex Gonzalez in the 7th or 8th spots. Maybe consider the lefty/righty match up and allow the opposing pitcher to make my choice here. However, if one player was clearly hitting better than the other, I would let the hotter hitter have the higher spot in the line up.

My Atlanta Braves line up might surprise a lot of folks around baseball and including the Atlanta Braves fans too. All I can say is the best batting order without doubt and would be the way you would want to play out these last 2 months of the season, where every game is so big right now with a close race between the Philadelphia Phillies and Atlanta Braves. Who are two NL teams fighting for the National League East Pennant in 2010; along with a New York Mets team you can’t count out yet.

The reason why my line up would shock most, is because everyone has gotten use to the way Bobby Cox has messed it up for the last few years. Announcers like Joe Simpson has continued this brain-washing practice and given Cox way too much credit and doesn’t question him enough. Even Joe Simpson listed Matt Diaz as a player for Mets left hand pitcher Johan Santana to watch; when Diaz was given the clean up role in that game. Amazing how our 4th place hitter, who gets highlighted in a pregame prediction, has trouble finding a regular spot in the batting order.

Where would this Braves team be with more at-bats from Eric Hinske and Matt Diaz and fewer plate appearances from Chipper Jones and Troy Glaus? How many more wins do the Bravos have, if Omar Infante would have been given an everyday role with this team and less games seen from the Braves dugout? The NL East Race might have been settled, but the Braves continue to allow the banged-up Phillies baseball team a chance in the 2010 East Race. All thanks to manager Bobby Cox and his lack of knowledge when it comes to putting your best hitters as high in the batting order as possible. This Atlanta Braves line up is very elementary and has been filled out so improperly each night this season. If the Braves fail to make the post season as the NL East Champs, you can put direct blame on the line up cards submitted by the manager Mr. Cox.

  • A1 for Cow Steaks

A lot of different types of steaks out there, so let me be real clear on which type of steak I am talking about. Just your ordinary, great tasting steaks from cows or bulls. When you get lucky enough to have a chance to sink your teeth into a nice juicy, medium cooked cow steak; which steak sauce do you prefer?

For me, it’s not even a close contest. I love the A1 Steak Sauce and it’s my favorite thing to put on steak. I know they use to have a motto that said something like “make your burger a steak burger”. I also like to add A1 into my ground beef for hamburgers. I find letting your ground beef burgers cook until they’re almost done and then added a little A1 steak sauce to each side of the burger. Just let the A1 sauce cook for about 1 minute on each side and then pull them out of the pan. Over cooking the A1 sauce can interfere with the taste and raw A1 sauce isn’t as good, as the sauce you can cook for about 2 minutes. The heat gives the A1 steak sauce a chance to seep into the burgers and you get some of that good A1 flavor inside the hamburger. Try to cook your ground beef burgers like this next time and you will probably want to eat steak burgers more often.

    Flavors of A1 Steak Sauces

In the steak department, my favorite one is probably the T-Bone steak. I would put the N.Y. Strip steak as a close second and these are my favorite two steaks. The prime rib is one of the most common steaks, but I don’t think its as good as the New York Strip or the T Bone steaks. Normally your prime rib steaks are cheaper, so more people eat prime rib than the other 2 steaks I mentioned. Nothing wrong with the taste of prime rib steaks, but I do believe there is a lot better tasting steaks available on the cow.

The Heinz 57 Steak Sauceis another popular choice for steak sauces. The guys from Heinz should stick to making catsup and leave the steak sauce to the A1 company. I never have thought the 57 steak sauce was any good. I know in most restaurants and especially the steak house restaurants, you will find a bottle of each one on the table. I keep an eye on other customers eating steak and see which sauce they eat the most. I see a lot more people reaching for the A 1 steak sauce; than the Heinz steak sauce or any of the other sauces for steaks. I would like to know which steak sauce you like the best or if you prefer to eat your steaks without steak sauce?
