Was our 16th President of the United States of America really a vampire hunter? Well this book’s title caught my attention; when I saw Abraham Lincoln Vampire Hunter. It turns out, there is a little truth behind the title’s name. It appears Abe was devastated at 9 years of age; when his mother suddenly passed away. His father blamed some bill collectors on her death and referred to them as vampires. At least this is the impression I am getting about this book. From that day on, Mr. Lincoln promised to do everything in his power to track down and hunt these types of vampires. It was this dedication in life that probably led to Abraham Lincoln becoming our country’s 16th president.

It turns out a valuable piece of paper work was discovered about Abraham Lincoln. No one had laid eyes on these writings in the last 140 years or longer. These writings led to some valuable information about Abe as a child and some of the stories about the Civil War that have never been told before. I find these new-found writings very interesting and wonder if they have ever been published for the public to read.

I wake up each morning and have a certain routine I go through. The first few steps are always the same and I rarely ever change these patterns. I will bring you along with me, so you can see how I start my days out on the World Wide Web. Buckle up and I will take you on a cyber traveling trip.

I love both of these websites, so I always make it a point to go to them first.

I can determine a lot of things, by checking my email and seeing if anything special is going on.

There isn’t nothing like a summer time meal that is prepared on the grill. I love eating grilled foods. Since the Memorial Day weekend is now in full swing, I was wondering what the most desired food items would this year. There are a lot of good food choices and its hard to just pick one thing to cook on the grill. I start getting hungry as soon as I smell the charcoal cooking on the grill. That is one of my most favorite smells in the whole entire world. If you were going to eat a meal right now and could select any item to be cooked on the grill; which food would you choose first?

7 – Only Vegetables (no meats)

I know that is a tough question, but usually most families would only cook one of these items. The most popular combination would be hamburgers and hot dogs. All the other items usually have a place of their own for the grill. I believe I would go with a nice, juicy steak. Several different steaks to choose from and I probably like New York Strip or T-Bone steaks the best. Either one of those would do and I would cook it medium on the grill. You don’t want to over cook a steak anytime and especially on the grill. A well-done steak prepared on the grill can taste like your eating charcoal. You can prevent this taste, by cooking the steak slow and maybe putting a little tin foil under it, to help preserve the juices. You can wrap it up in tin foil to cook for the majority of the time and this helps to save the juices. Then you can remove the foil and cook it on each side for about 3 minutes. This gives you the great grill taste; while saving the juices you will want with your steak.

No matter which food you choose to throw over the fire, it always taste better from the grill. I guess our taste buds don’t get to eat it enough, so we like the chance to get a new flavor in our mouth. A nice T Bone steak, NY strip, or even a filet Mignon is perfect for a summer time grill. In addition to my steak, I would like to cook a few mushrooms to go with it. I would probably also choose the popular bake potato with butter for another side item. As for the bread, you could cook a nice piece of Texas Toast on the grill and put a little garlic on it. My favorite foods for this year would include a T Bone steak with mushrooms and bake potato and a nice piece of garlic bread. The NFL decided to make two NFL teams happy in 2014 and awarded the Super Bowl bid for 2014 to the New York Jets and the New York Giants. It’s a bit tricky when you’re in this area of New Jersey. I will say the NFC will be represented by the Detroit Lions in the 2014 Super Bowl. I will predict their AFC opponents to be the Miami Dolphins. I have a feeling some warm weather team will be present in the New Meadowlands Stadium, so I will root for the Dolphins and Lions to play in this outdoor Super Bowl; which will take place on New Jersey soil in the New York area.

The 24 hour restaurant is more common now. We use to just have a couple of chain restaurants that would serve customers 24 hours a day and now there are several which do this. You may even be lucky enough to have a private or one-of-a-kind restaurants in your hometown that serves up breakfast and dinner 24 hours a day.

There is just something magical about a food place that stays open after midnight. A lot of restaurants today are trending to the “open late” campaign, in which they will stay open longer than usual. This usually occurs in the summer months and some places may only offer a drive-thru service for their open late hours.

I’m a night owl, so I have eaten a lot of my meals after midnight. I have also had my share of 3rd shift jobs, so trying to find a hot lunch at these hours have always been a challenge. I love the night and sleeping through it seems like a waste. I hate to sleep through all of the daylight hours too, so the less sleep the better. Even though sleep is one of my favorite things to do. Makes a lot of sense, huh?

I even like watching the big Hollywood movies that will take place all night long or end up in a late night diner. I recently saw a movie called Nick and Norah’s Infinite Playlist and this is a good example of an all night movie. The Dazed and Confused movie is also another good example and they recreated this late night fun in a 2nd movie they did on top of this one.

The hard part can be finding friends to share these late night hours with you. I know for teens and people in their early twenties, this might not be too challenging. As you get into your 30′s, you will find there are less and less friends you can go out and have an all-nighter with. I still have 1 or 2 people I can count on for the 2 to 3 a.m. hours of the night. If I want to see the sun rise the next morning, I will probably be alone for that to happen now. It’s just one of the parts of growing up and how people get married, have families, and then have to wake up early for a job the next day. I have not did the marriage or family part yet, but I have had a little taste of the 9 to 5 job, where you have to be in bed at 10 or 11 p.m. each night. It’s a little depressing to call it a night at those hours and I will stay up past 2 a.m. on most nights.

A night on the town that takes all night to do, is still a winning formula in my book. The 24 hour restaurants are one of the fun things to do in these hours, when most people are dreaming away in their beds. If you can find the bowling alley or pool hall that stays open 24 hours a day, then you really have some all night fun you can get into.

If you want to do some recording on the DVD player, you must first know what to buy for your specific DVD player. These blank CD’s or discs are specially formatted to fit different types of DVD players. I’m not sure if there is a more common format to record on or not. What you don’t want to do is get to the store and guess which one to buy. You may have one that will record in both formats, but it seems most of the ones I see only use one format to record in.

Make sure you see where the plus symbol appears on the package, so you will be able to recognize the blank discs you’re buying for your DVD player. The Maxell DVD -R in the blue pack are the ones that have the minus symbol on them and they will only work in DVD players that record in that format.

It’s great to record things on DVD players. These recordings last much longer than the old-style of VCR recordings on the VHS tapes. Gary Coleman Dead?

It appears to be true and the actor that once played Arnold Jackson on the TV series Different Strokes, is no longer with us. He had some sort of bleeding or hemorrhaging in the brain, that caused him to be put in the hospital on Wednesday. He would later slip into a coma and was put on life support. On Friday, the family decided to take the life support off of Gary Coleman and he later died. Gary Coleman was 42 years old and left us with some great laughs from his appearances on television.

I grew up watching Different Strokes and I really liked that show. I never had a big brother, so I wanted a big brother like Willis, who was played by Todd Bridges. I thought his sister Kimberly (Dana Plato) was hot and I wanted a girlfriend like her. Then you figure how rich Arnold’s family was and I thought that was a perfect situation for me. Years later, after the show ended, the story of Dana Plato who was Gary Coleman’s sister “Kimberly” had a tragic ending. She died of an accidental over dose and has been dead for awhile now. Things haven’t been going too well for the other childhood actors Arnold and Willis, but at least they was still alive. Well that isn’t true anymore, since little Arnold has passed away today at the age of 42.

Hearing this news today, makes me think of the day when Michael Jackson passed away. Gary Coleman was just as big as Michael Jackson and probably bigger in the early years of the 80′s decade. Coincidentally the last name of Arnold on Different Strokes was “Jackson”. Also, the actress that played Charlene (girlfriend to Willis), who played on several episodes, was the real life sister to Michael Jackson. Janet Jackson has created her own name in the entertainment world and isn’t just Michael’s sister anymore. Janet Jackson was Penny on the TV show Good Times and then later appeared as Charlene on Different Strokes. I wonder what is going through her mind today, after the shocking news her brother Michael was dead and now one of her co-stars on Different Strokes, has suddenly passed away at only 42 years of age. Today is a sad day for many and lots will be paying their respects for this very funny actor we know as Arnold from Different Strokes.
